2 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Use Smart Insecticide in conjunction with good agronomic practices which reduce nematode populations (e.g. nematode resistant cover crops, crop rotations, bare fallow, cultivations). F pineapples, other measures to produce an efficient root system, e.g. Phytophtha control, are necessary to ensure the full benefit from Smart Insecticide. MIXING Add the required quantity of Smart Insecticide to the spray vat full of water while stirring with by-pass in operation. Agitate befe spraying if mixture has been left overnight. APPLICATION Use flat fan nozzles when applying Smart Insecticide to the soil surface by boom spray. Do not exceed 200 kpa spray drift may occur. Do not apply under windy conditions. Smart Insecticide requires moisture in the soil. Only apply while the soil is moist at the surface after rain irrigation unless Smart Insecticide is to be incpated. Avoid application to dry soil during prolonged dry spells unless irrigation is available. Irrigation rainfall is generally required within 24 hours after application to a soil surface. After spraying rinse tank, pump and lines with plenty of water befe spraying fungicides insecticides. Do not allow a mixture to stand overnight if plastic hosing is used. PRE-PLANTING Apply anytime from 7 days befe up to the time of ing. Apply at kpa by boom spray onto moist soil. Incpate with rotary hoe discs to 10cm. Incpate as close to spraying as possible. GUIDELINES FOR TRICKLE IRRIGATION Commence watering to moisten the soil. Then inject Smart Insecticide into the system. Inject Smart Insecticide over as long a period as possible (minimum 1 2 hour). Flush system with water to ensure no Smart Insecticide remains in the system. ACCELERATED BIODEGRADATION As with other soil insecticides the effectiveness of this product may be reduced as a result of the soil microflas developing the ability to biodegrade it at an accelerated rate, particularly after repeated application. If unacceptable control occurs, immediately contact your Crop Smart Pty.Ltd ( Crop Smart ) representative f detailed infmation. This product should not be used where the user suspects the soil microflas have developed the ability to degrade it at an accelerated rate. Crop Smart accepts no responsibility, and intends by this statement to exclude liability, if the effectiveness of this product is reduced nullified as a result of accelerated biodegradation, since biodegradation is accelerated by soil characteristics which occur naturally and are beyond Crop Smart control. PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers waterways with the chemical used container. 2
3 STORAGE AND DISPOSAL (5, 10, 20L) Ste in a locked room place away from children, animals, food, feedstuffs, seed and fertilisers. Ste in the closed, iginal container in a cool, well-ventilated area. Do not ste f prolonged periods in direct sunlight. Triple preferably pressure rinse container befe disposal. Add rinsings to spray tank. Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on site. If recycling, replace cap and return clean containers to recycler designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush puncture and bury empty containers in a local authity landfill. If no landfill is available, bury the containers below 500 mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up f this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots. Empty containers and product should not be burnt. F refillable containers Empty contents fully into application equipment. Close all valves and return to point of supply f refill stage. Envirodrum 110L and 200L Mini Bulk Returnable Container Ste the iginal sealed Envirodrum in a cool, well ventilated area. DO NOT ste f prolonged periods in direct sunlight. DO NOT tamper with the Micro Matic valve the security seal. DO NOT contaminate the Envirodrum with water any other feign matter. After each use of the product please ensure that the Micro Matic coupler, delivery system and hoses are disconnected, triple rinsed with clean water and drained accdingly. When the contents of the Envirodrum have been used, please return the empty Envirodrum to the point of purchase. The Envirodrum remains the property of Crop Smart Pty.Ltd. SAFETY DIRECTIONS Very dangerous, particularly the concentrate. Poisonous if absbed by skin contact, inhaled swallowed. Repeated min exposure may have a cumulative poisoning effect. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale spray mist. When opening the container, preparing the spray and using the prepared spray, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist and washable hat, elbow-length PVC gloves and full face piece respirat with combined dust and gas cartridge canister. If product on skin, immediately wash area with soap and water. After use and befe eating, drinking smoking wash hands, arms and face thoughly with soap and water. INSECTICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING GROUP 1B INSECTICIDE F Insecticide resistance management Smart Fenamiphos 400 Insecticide is a Group 1B Insecticide. Some naturally occurring insect biotypes resistant to Smart Fenamiphos 400 Insecticide and other Group 1B Insecticides may exist through nmal genetic variability in any 5
6 insect population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the insect population if Smart Fenamiphos 400 Insecticide other Group 1B Insecticides are used repeatedly. The effectiveness of Smart Fenamiphos 400 Insecticide on resistant individuals could be significantly reduced. Since occurrence of resistance individuals is difficult to detect pri to use, Crop Smart Pty.Ltd accepts no liability f any losses that may result from the failure of Smart Fenamiphos 400 Insecticide to control resistant insects. Smart Fenamiphos 400 Insecticide may be subject to specific resistant management strategies.
