Aglaé joins in the fun with its playful circular watercolour effects, creating a colourful and sensitive touch. Artémis flower gardens blossom and bloom in giant proportions, creating a dreamlike world. They re wonderfully lightweight, machine washable and can easily be coordinated with all of our ranges of solid linens. 8 FIRE-RETARDANT FABRIC Fabric technical terms LIGHT-RESISTANT FABRIC NUITS BLANCHES ALIZÉ II MILADY FIRE-RETARDANT TREATMENT : A fire-retardant treatment involves the process of adding a chemical primer protection that turns flammable material into non-flammable or flame-resistant material. Fire-retardant treatment is therefore a technique that aims to delay or better yet, stop the spread of flames. For textiles, the performance of certain fibers can be improved by incorporating additives into the «mass» creating a permanent protection of the fabric. The treatment will be weather-resistant and resistant to washing. For example we use Trevira CS fiber (which is a registered trademark therefore a guarantee of quality) or Polyester FR to meet the most stringent fire-resistance standards.(available or as special order for some references) It is also possible to request a non-permanent treatment application for a wide range of fabrics. This involves simply adding chemical components ensuring fire-retardant protection on the backing or the front, but this treatment will be less effective with washings and use. Only a few references are unable to receive this treatment, notably those with a very open knit (Iméra, Bon Génie ). LIGHTFASTNESS : Lightfastness or light resistance, assesses how a textile discolours under the influence of light, mainly sunlight. The fabric is exposed to a controlled lighting in a French laboratory that tests the fabric under artificial light at 47 C (representative of natural daylight) for a set time. Colour change is then evaluated in comparison to an unexposed sample. The scale used to express the results has eight logarithmic levels. Each level offers twice as much resistance as the preceding level. Level 8 offers the best results. TSAR ARCHIPEL QUADRILLE MARTINDALE : The Martindale test measures the abrasion resistance of fabrics. This test is performed with a machine that rubs sandpaper against textiles and calculates the number of cycles until the thread breaks. STONEWASHED FABRIC Use number of cycle Decorative < Light domestic (accessory...) à General domestic (seat cover) à Heavy domestic (seat cover) > STONEWASHED : «Stonewashed» treatment involves agitating the fabric in a controlled manner in a bath containing abrasive stones, giving the fabric a used, faded appearance. Stonewashed pieces of fabric cannot be more than 15 / 20 m long, since they must be washed in the machine to receive the treatment. Not to be confused with the «washed» process, which simply involves washing the fabric with water jets, softeners or chemicals to relax the fiber. 9 Fabric what you should know Fabric what you should know EMBROIDERY, JACQUARD, EMBOSSING OR BROCADE? Embroidery : this is a raised decoration added onto pre-woven fabric (used as backing) using various threads, stitching, or machines. It s no longer just a raised pattern stitched on existing fabric. Jacquard : Jacquard weaving offers diverse and colourful patterns, thanks to the interplay of its raised warp threads that enables the weft thread to pass through. This type of weaving is only possible with a Jacquard loom. ESSAOUIRA» EMBROIDERY Embossing : embossing is a printing technique to obtain raised patterns on fabric. Embossing can fade when using natural fiber weaving. Brocade: this rather stiff fabric is woven on a jacquard loom. Satin appears alternately on the front and back to create the pattern, often consisting of flowers or leaves. This is a term signifying the pattern without any technical meaning. ASSOUAN - the variety of colours is due to the coloured weft thread. The warp thread is natural and the same thread is used for all of the colours in the collection. IMÉRA - this large embroidery comes to life on soluble paper. JACQUARD LOOM «TAOS» JACQUARD EXAMPLE OF BROCADE FABRIC EXAMPLE OF EMBOSSED FABRIC MÉTAMORPHOSE - contrary to its appearance, this fabric is not embossed - it is made with a retractable weft thread weaving. VOLUPTÉ - this embroidery with foam, was inspired by the 3D wallcoverings such as Chance. LINEN Linen is grown in temperate and coastal areas, especially in Europe and notably in France (80% of European production). It is also a very environmentally sound fabric because unlike other crops, linen consumes very few phytosanitary treatments and hardly pollutes at all, rejecting only trace amounts. In addition, the flax plant is decreasingly processed and the minimal water needs necessary for growing it are met by natural rainfall. «DOLCEZZA» LINENS COLLECTION Flax also has many intrinsic qualities: it is strong, shock and scratch resistant. As it is a natural material, it does not attract dust and therefore is easy to maintain. 17 PARATI - this fabric is made with a particular loom, slower than normal, which keeps the raffia thread flat. PASHA - its haute couture look comes from a traditional weft and warp weaving and with fancy weft thread for an irregular appearance. 18

10 Glossary reminder of different standards CLASSIFICATION AND FIRE RESISTANCE (EUROCLASS) Construction products are subject to regulations, namely fire resistance. All of our products are tested by certified organizations according to European requirements and have a classification called Euroclass. The Euroclass classification determines the reaction of materials to fire. Products A and B are considered as fire-retardant (from «noncombustible» to «low-flammability»). Products C and D are moderately combustible and finally Products E and F are combustible. REACH STANDARDS Reach is a term that stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals. Reach is a European regulatory system which aims to control the use of hazardous chemicals to human health and the environment. It ensures that producers, importers and manufacturers prove that the substances they place on the market do not pose any danger. We sign an agreement with our manufacturers proving their commitment. All of our products are made in compliance with this regulation in order to either avoid all use and/or limit the use of chemicals. EMISSIONS INTO THE AIR Since January 1, 2012, construction and decoration productsare provided with a label that indicates clearly and simply their emission level of volatile pollutants once implemented in an enclosed space. The product emission level is indicated by a rating ranging from A+ (very low emissions) to C (high emissions) according to the principle already used for household appliances or vehicles. Consumers thus have transparent information which can be a new selection criterion. The label we present on our communication media meets French regulations (labeling is mandatory in France for construction products). The A+ rating is the best possible rating. All of our products are also rated A+. Our lowest rating obtained is A
