Marvin Architectural is committed to the use of raw materials from sustainable sources, maximising the use of recycled materials and minimising the use of energy from non-renewable sources. Our timber comes from sustainable forests and accredited suppliers. All our paint finishes are water- based and eco-friendly. This is in order to drastically reduce the need for heating and therefore the release of CO 2. Engineered Wood Signature s traditional windows and doors are specially Engineered with three layers of laminated wood to prevent warping and increases the lifetime of the products. The outer layers are radial or half-radial cut, which protects the wood surface from splitting. Quality Joinery Signature s traditional windows and doors feature hand sanded flat finish joints as to avoid unsightly V joints and consist of narrow shadow lines to highlight the beautiful work of our craftsmanship. Energy-Efficient Signature s hermetically sealed double glazing and a system of draught seals produces a highly energy efficient solution. 8 Traditional Quality Wood QUALITY WOOD As consumers are becoming more aware of their environment, many are seeking for natural products when choosing windows and doors for their homes. Sustainable Resource The pine wood used in the Traditional Range to manufacture our products consists of a minimum 60% heart-wood from sustainable forests in North Scandinavia where the trees grow slowly and naturally, and no fertilisers are used. Engineered Wood We use only laminated triple-layer wood. Three layers are used because this technology prevents the window frame from warping and increases the lifetime of the windows. The outer layers are radial or half-radial cut, and this method protects window surfaces from wood splitting. The timber used to manufacture our products is carefully selected and treated. The sash is outward opening to provide ventilation, even during light rain. The balance arm has built in friction brakes allowing random ventilation positions. 31 Glazing Details & Options Today s glazing solutions offer incredible potential to create environments that are comfortable, cost-effective and sustainable. Marvin Architectural offer a range of double and triple glazing units with performance characteristics that make it possible to specify the amount of sunlight, heat or sound that enters a room and how much heat remains. In-House Services Energy efficient glass (LOW E) with metal oxide coating reflects 40% to 70% more heat into the room than clear glass, while allowing the full amount of light to pass through. Warm edge spacer bars may be added to improve thermal performance. Benefits of Signature s Glazing Energy Efficient Low-E glass with non-toxic argon gas added offer a 20% improvement over regular insulated glass in reducing heat transmission. This means extra comfort and energy savings. It is also worth noting that 2/3 of all ultraviolet rays are blocked which protects the furniture and fabrics from fading Enhanced Security & Safety All products are internally beaded which means added security because the glass cannot be removed from the outside. Window restrictors are available to restrict opening of windows for child safety.
