Many historically influenced building styles, including Georgian, adopted and continued the use of this ornament. Our Anthemion depicts the scrolls springing from a nest of sharply defined Acanthus leaves. 13

19 AND-TURNED OOD All our wooden finials have been hand turned on a lathe by a craftsmen here in the UK. e believe that this method ensures a higher level of detail and sharpness of design than would normally be attained by other more automated processes. 22 CASSCA COECTON CASSCA FNSES Gold and Silver Finishes Metal eaf This has become the preferred finish when a classic gold or silver colour is required. t is the very traditional technique of Oil Gilding using Dutch Metal eaf and is applied over a coloured ground. You may specify from one of the following choices:- Antique Gold Metal eaf over red Antique Gold Metal eaf over black Antique Gold Metal eaf over cream Antique Silver Metal eaf over black The Standard versions are the most reflective and brightest as any distressing has been kept to a minimum. The Antique versions are distressed to reveal the coloured ground beneath and lightly toned using a tinted French polish. Our Antique Gold Metal eaf over cream is the least reflective and has a wonderful mellow appearance, taking on a subtlety all of its own. All versions are finished using antique wax, most noticeable in the lowlights of finials etc, and all will mellow slightly with age. Note e now offer our in a Metal eaf Finish to exactly match the pole etc. You may specify a Gilt Varnish finish that closely matches the pole as a cheaper alternative (please refer to price list ). Gilt Varnishes A painted finish using metallic powders and oil based varnishes. All are lightly distressed with subtle highlighting to give "depth". Softer and slightly "flatter" in appearance than Metal eaf. Standard colours available Distressed Gold Distressed Silver Distressed Bronze 20

23 CASSCA FNSES CASSCA COECTON Traditional oodstain A traditional French Polish finish, hand finished using antiquing waxes to a natural soft sheen. oodstain Standard finishes available ight Oak Teak Dark Oak Dark Mahogany alnut Non-standard stains Although woodstain colours are not available in the same way as solid paint colours, we are in most cases, able to offer a colour matching service where you may send in a sample of wood etc for us to match. e will forward you a sample for approval (please refer to price list Colour Matching). Solid Colours An opaque paint finish, sealed, waxed and polished to a satin finish. Standard colours available Painted Finishes inen Distressed Paint A process whereby the colour required is applied over a complementary colour. The items are then distressed by hand to allow areas of the base coat to show through and finally antiqued using tinted waxes. This results in an authentic "aged" appearance.
