3 WHAT S NEW This Winter at Efex has been a whirlwind of activity. The result is the addition of over 20 new appliqués in all different sizes. Most of these new additions are reproductions from antique appliques and onlays purchased in Paris last fall. As such many of these designs have never been available in any material other than the origial bronzes. Many of these items are Neo Classical in style, just perfect for an elegant remake of an era gone by. They will work exceptionally well with gilding wax products and foils. It is fun to use today s technology to bring styles that were usually reserved for the uber rich, and be able to show how you can bring them into any home on any budget. Later in the spring we will be introducing more additions to our line, including a special group of onlays for kitchens, and an additional array of rose designs. 4 WHAT ARE EFEX There are many types of appliqués - and most have one thing in common. They aren t flexible. This means that they must either be applied to completely flat surfaces or have gaps filled after application. Efex moldings are bendable so curved or irregular surfaces are no problem. The moldings simply flex to fit. They can be stretched up to 2% to ensure a tight fit. No special tools are required beyond a pair of scissors or knife. Efex can be applied to almost any surface; wood, plaster, metal, and terra-cotta; by using a standard contact cement such as DAP. Simply apply to the back of molding and to the project surface. Press the two surfaces together and it s done. Epoxy or PVA glues will not adhere. Efex can be used anywhere around the house on furniture, walls, doors or mirrors. Use to create picture frames and fancy boxes. In fact, if it needs decorating this is the product for you. For garden uses such as terra-cotta, store inside during extreme winter weather, or in a sheltered area. Efex can be painted, stained, decoupaged, crackled, or gilded. Most importantly. It s fun! 42 TRIMS MAKE EVERYTHING ELEGANT Our trims are around 45 inches in length and between 1/4 to 3 wide. For a small mirror you usually need 1-2, and for a medimum sized round table you need 2-3.
