Features such as rough or fine grain or knots and uneven growth as well as colour nuances have their origin in the growth of the tree. They should therefore not be regarded as faults, but rather as marks of the indestructible individuality of the natural product in case in principle the only guarantee for genuineness. Even in the case of new furniture, deviations in colour, structure and grain of the wood can result in the course of time because of the natural material. Deviations in colour of subsequent purchases will balance out in due course. Upright and transverse direction of veneer grains take on a different colour appearance through varying refraction of light in the pores.
