Awards Presentation 2016 Excellence in Hardscape Competition Who is Eligible? Any individual involved in the design, supply or construction of a landscaping project may participate. Participants need not be a member of the WMA, WLCA or WGIF. There is no cost to enter projects. What is Eligible? 1. Projects that feature concrete pavers, clay pavers, concrete retaining and garden wall units or natural stone products produced or supplied by a member of the WMA. 2. Projects completed within five years of the date of submission. 3. Each project may only be entered into one category for consideration. Entry Requirements 4. A minimum 250-word project description must be included, detailing job challenges, special characteristics and project goals. 5. A minimum of 5, maximum of 10, high-resolution digital photos. 6. Project design plans, including perspective, elevations, diagrams and details are recommended. Watch for the 2016 Call for Entries, available later in the year.

Frank in 2006, after operating his own landscape management company in Mequon. He is an Associate Landscape Architect with a number of award-winning renovative projects to his credit, but he also works directly with clients and crews to offer maintenance services that ensure long-term beauty and value in every landscape. With experience in all aspects of design, construction and maintenance, Zach helps both home and business owners create and care for exceptional landscapes. He believes in a hands on approach, and is involved at every stage make sure projects are on time, on budget and on target with each customer s expectations. Susanne Payne, PLA, ASLA Ken Saiki Design I am a registered landscape architect with degrees in landscape architecture and horticulture, both from UW-Madison. I am currently employed by Ken Saiki Design in Madison where I have worked for 12 years. The majority of my work involves site planning and design for a variety of clients and project types, mostly commercial and institutional. My main interests are improving the function and beauty of our everyday world with good design and low-maintenance landscaping, and incorporating green storm water management practices into landscape design. Jonathan Schultz Unique Services, Inc Jon graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a BFA in sculpture and a minor in design. He has won 18 design project awards in the past 8 years, and won the 2012 Designer of the Year for the Wisconsin Masonry Alliance. Jon has presented on design techniques using 3D design programs and how to utilize outdoor spaces at Hardscape North America twice, and Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association s Northern Green Exposition. He currently designs and manages hardscape projects for his own company and provides design services for other contractors as well.

Jamon Peterson Extreme Exteriors 2015 Designer of the Year Award The WMA Hardscape Committee is recognizing the following individual as the 2015 Designer of the Year because of his progressive thinking and innovative hardscaping designs. This individual is a skilled practitioner and dedicated professional, who utilizes new industry developments and is inspired to create successful hardscape designs. Lynn Hinch Lynnscape Design, LLC WMA Awards Committee Mission Statement The WMA Excellence in Hardscape Competition provides a venue to recognize and create awareness of landscape professionals who are successfully and creatively implementing hardscaping products into their landscape projects. The WMA awards professionally designed and installed projects that accommodate concrete, clay and stone hardscaping products in their inherent capacity to fulfill their role in establishing the landscape. The WMA has judged project submissions from landscape professionals based on their overall excellence of design, creativity, functionality, selection and quality of concrete, clay and stone hardscape materials, installation techniques, craftsmanship, and finished appearance.
