12 Sub regional narratives Sub regional narratives provide a link between state, regional and local government planning. 15 Urban Footprint Urban Footprint provides sufficient land to accommodate growth to 2031, taking into account physical constraints. Requests to amend the Urban Footprint Approximately 400 received during consultation process Approximately 400 received during consultation process. 16 Mapping changes Statutory Mapping Review The following items were considered in assessing requests to amend the Urban Footprint Physically suitable. Maintain integrity of inter-urban breaks. Ready access to service and employment. Need for additional lands in the sub-region.

30 Principle 8.10 Development Area Delivery (formerly Urban and future urban land ) simplified terminology for Development Areas in the Urban Footprint. Development Area replaces Urban Growth Areas (UGA s) and Future Growth Areas (FGA s) provides details on facilitation of Development Area planning allows for various means of delivery provides further information on required structure plan content prioritises the delivery of strategic level planning for large Development Areas Establish SEQ Growth Management Program (replacing MDP).

They include Kinross Rd (Redland) Victoria Point (Redland) Greenbank Central (Logan) Gatton Nth. (Lockyer Valley) Canungra (Scenic Rim) Narangba (Moreton Bay) S.E. Thornlands (Redland) Bahrs Scrub (Logan) Nambour (Sunshine Coast) Plainland (Lockyer Valley) Beaudesert (Scenic Rim) Steiglitz (Gold Coast)

Recognise roles of centres to provide diverse employment opportunities.

DRO 12 Transport Alignment of the SEQ Regional Plan and Connecting SEQ 2031: Emphasises the need for better integration of transport and land use planning Promotes a compact urban settlement pattern, and self-containment of travel Strengthen relationship between land use and infrastructure planning, Use of funding mechanisms to assist in the timely delivery of infrastructure

37 Part E Implementation Establish priorities and committee format and membership by October Undertake discussions with stakeholders to advance delivery of SEQ Regional Plan through various means including Non-statutory programs (eg. 38 Regulatory Provisions - Part F Strict controls remain in place on subdivision, and urban developments including residential and rural residential development, outside the Urban Footprint. Merit based approach for Tourist, sport and recreation, and community activities: Allow small business, rural enterprises, outdoor recreation Regulatory provisions to apply in Development Areas and Identified Growth Areas.

Development in Development Areas to be consistent with the future planning intent for the area. Regulatory provisions to continue to apply in Identified Growth Areas as RLRPA. prohibit subdivision (lots less than 100ha) utilise overriding need in the public interest test for urban activities

Use Requirements The use must not include residential development. Short term accommodation to a maximum of 300 persons. Other urban activities For community facilities, no more than 50m2. For tourism, sport and recreation, no more than 1000m2. Strategic Intent Requirements Meet the strategic intent of the SEQ Regional Plan, including all relevant Desired Regional Outcomes.
