7 ONE WORD! PLASTICS WE ARE NOW LITERALLY SWIMMING IN A SEA OF PLASTICS! ALMOST EVERYTHING YOU EAT, WEAR, CARRY, SLEEP AND WASH WITH IS PROBABLY FROM THIS FAMILY OF 7! BUT HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHAT THOSE FUNNY LITTLE NUMBERS STAND FOR? URRMMM NO! ITS NOT A GAME OF BINGO! THAT S WHY WE HAVE CREATED THIS EASY REFERENCE GUIDE, SO NOW YOU WILL KNOW EXACTLY HOW TO SEPARATE ALL YOUR PLASTICS FOR RECYCLING - LEAVING ONE LESS PLASTIC CONTAINER, BOTTLE OR BAG FLOATING AROUND IN OUR NATURAL WORLD!
8 PLASTICTROSS Albatrosses will fly hundreds, sometimes thousands of miles in search of food for their chicks. They are on the hunt for squid, fish eggs and any other ocean delight that happens to be floating on the surface of the water, however tragically this now also means plastic!! So rather than returning home to serve up a healthy and nutritious meal for their young ones, the Chicks are forced to feast on bottle caps, lighters, fishing lures and many other single use plastics. The Outcome? The chicks starve to death, with stomachs full of plastic. Scientists estimate that around the world, up to one million seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals and sea turtles die each year from eating plastic. This can stop today!! REFUSE SINGLE USE PLASTICS! How You can Help Stop using disposable 1 plastics, like plastic bags and water bottles. Carry your own 2 reusable shopping bag and/or water bottle. Try to use products made from recycled 3 materials that have little or no packaging, or packaging that is recyclable. 4 Try to avoid Styrofoam products at all costs bring your own mug to the coffee shop, and a suitable container for leftovers when you eat out. 5 Know which plastics can be recycled in your city and recycle them! 6 Make sure all of the non-recyclable plastics that you use are securely disposed of. 7 Pick up the trash on the street and put it in a trash can, where it belongs! DID YOU KNOW: ALBATROSS ARE OFTEN FOUND WITH OVER 300 PIECES OF PLASTIC INSIDE OF THEM. HOW MANY PLASTIC OBJECTS CAN YOU COUNT INSIDE OF OUR FRIEND PLASTICTROSS?
