4 UKRTRANSGAZ operator of gas transmission system of Ukraine The main task of UKRTRANSGAZ is to ensure the transportation of natural gas through main gas pipelines and its storage in underground gas storages within the contracts (both for Ukrainian and European consumers) The main activities of the company: Operation and maintenance of GTS technological objects (linear part of the gas pipelines, compressor stations, underground gas storage facilities); Measurement of the quantity and quality of gas; Design, construction and reconstruction of technological objects 4

21 Conclusions The adoption and implementation of national standards harmonised with international and EU standards promotes the convergence of national standardisation system with international and European one The participation of UKRTRANSGAZ experts in international projects on scientific and technical cooperation in the field of standardisation enhances the possibilities of experience exchanging and the use of the achievements of other countries. It provides the Ukrainian gas transmission system to operate at the level of the international and European standards requirements. 21
