5 GENERAL INFORMATION Check if there is everything in the packing. In case of messing pieces call the Agent that sold you the apparatus. The convector installation has to be done by a qualified person or by a qualified enterprise that has received a qualification. The enterprise has to release you the installation conformity statement, that tells you the work is correctly done as under the safety rules laws, of the March990 n 6. If the convector is going to be shut down for a long period of time, the following steps should be taken: -Position the main switch that is on the control panel to the off position. -Position the general or wall switch to the off position and unplug the electrical cord. Close the gas tap. This book is a part of the convector, please read and save all instructions for future reference. The convector has to do the work that it has been projected for; if this is not respected there is no warranty. SAFETY RULES We like to remember that, products that use combustion or electrical energy there is security rule to observe before operating. It is prohibited to clean the convector when it is running. Do not allow children to be near the convector. It is prohibited to touch the cable outside of the convector. It is prohibited to turn on an electrical device if there is a gas smell. In this case: -Open windows and door. -Close the gas tap. -Call a Technical Service Assistance. It is prohibited to leave paper, plastic, or other things of the convector box outside within a child s reach. It is prohibited to touch the convector with wet hand or other parts of your body. 6 CONVECTOR DESCRIPTIONS The Echo convector is a gas radiator that heat up the atmosphere. It has an intake of air that goes in the combustion chamber type C. The convector is made with an aluminium body that allows a high efficiency of heat; it also has a fan that allows the dispersal of air faster in the rooms. The convectors are arranged in factory for the function at gas methane and they can be transformed to GPL (G0/G) using the furnished nozzle kit. Note: At request the apparatus can be furnished already arranged at GPL. It also has an electrical device that allows you to do a series of things. There also is a Processor Control Box (P.C.B assy) that controls all the principals function of the apparatus. After there is the Control Panel that has other options. IDENTIFICATION Echo identification: - Packed label: The label indicates the code and the combustion the convector uses. TERMOCONVETTORE - Technical label: Reports the matrices numbers, gas prearrangement, and technical observation. -Gas prearrangement label: Identifies the kind of gas the convector has to use. If there is a transformation from one kind of gas to another you have to change the old label. Natural Gas LPG TERMOCONVETTORE Spare parts, or technical operation require, a precise identification of the type of model. If there is going to be any tampering of the technical label, this will not consent the right identification of the apparatus. 6 GENERAL

13 INSTALLATION GENERAL INFORMATION This apparatus is tin respect to the environment; the air is intake from the outside. - When the convector is being installed don't use other pieces that are not give from the manufacturer. - Don t let the electrical cable touch heated parts, like the grill or the intake & exhaust tubes. The installer has to tell the owner the behaviour to keep during the apparatus function. - To avoid problems don t place cloth or other things on top of the grill. - Don t block with cloths or rug the apparatus intake & exhaust tubes. APPARATUS CHOICE LOCATION Before you re going to install the convector, check if there is enough space for the correct function of the convector. Check if around the convector tubes there are materials that can support the heath, second check if the wall is made of the right material and can support the convector weight. Verified if around the exhaust fumes tubes, there is no wood or plastic but there is the right material that can support the heath. The material where the convector it going to be placed has to resist the exhaust tube heath (about 80 C). Min. 0 Min. 0 In case of low resistant wall material it s possible to realize a cavity around the exhaust fume tube, and insulate with strong material for the present temperature, otherwise execute a hole with a larger diameter at least cm respect to the exhaust fume tube. Its prohibited settles the convector in rooms like bath, or showers. For this installation you need to realize special protections that make the apparatus consistent to the Electrical security rules. C WALL INSTALLATION WITH CONCENTRIC PIPES AND SINGLE END SECTION Important! The ECHO RADIATORS are designed only for fitting "against" walls (through which the intake and outlet pipes are fitted)! Important! Before starting installation, make sure the diameters, the total lengths and the end sections of the pipes are in conformity with those indicated on the Overall Measurements table! 15 Make the hole using a suitable cutter, as shown in the illustration, or by means of a series of smaller holes made around the circumference. Min. 0 mm Min. 0 mm Min. 0 mm Fume/air tube assemblage and gas connection -Adapt at wall space the tube length. -Important: the outside tube should be cut to the wall space. -Important: Cut the aluminium tube (exhaust tube) in the way that, once assembled it will line up to the out side tube, and will overhanging 0mm to the inside house. The outside tube cut, it easily to execute use the lining tape. Important: the tube cut has to be perpendicular to the tube axis, being real careful not deforming the tubes. Insert the out side tube in the wall hole and subsequently the inside tube in the out side tube. -Insert the exhaust/intake tube in the concentric tube; mark the centre holes of Ø 6mm for the terminal wall fastening inserts. - Cut the terminal, drill the four holes Ø 6mm, position the inserts in the holes. - Insert the terminal in the concentric tube fasten with the screws well adherent to the wall. - Important: If the outside tube is overhanging, it might cause anomaly to the burner flame. 0 mm mm 6 mm INSTALLATION

16 How to mount special pipes kit from inside the room to be warmed. Drill the hole on the wall. Shorten the special pipes in order to match the real thickness of the wall (see picture). IMPORTANT: The external pipe (fixed to the aluminium outlet) must be cut to match the exact thickness of the wall. IMPORTANT: Cut the internal pipe (exhaust pipe) that way: the external extremity must be set perfectly in line with the external end of air intake pipe. The internal extremity must exceed the internal end of the air intake pipe. The exceeding length must be 0 mm. It is easy to cut the air intake pipe with the help of the leading strip that can be stuck to the pipe (blade sheet made) to mark the point where cutting must be made. IMPORTANT: Cutting must be perpendicular to the pipe axis, please handle with care in order not to deform the pipes. Before inserting pipes on the hole in the wall, fix the special kit to the flanging on the mounting template. Use the screws on issue. IMPORTANT: The Special Kit is different from the Standard one: the centering spring is missing. You don t need it because the pipes are fixed in coaxial way to the aluminium outlet. 0 mm 0 mm Convector assemblage After that you have finished the previous operations, start to connect the convector to the wall. - Assembled the O-ring gasket on the intake tube. - Remove the humidifier and the cover from the convector unscrewing the fasting screw. - Rest the inferior part of the convector at the inferior template adages; fasten to the wall or on the spacing bar. -Approach the apparatus, inserting the unloaded /intake fumes curves in the right adapter connection tubes. - To fasten the tubes use grease and be sure that the O Rings are in their seating. - Lift the apparatus, place it next to the hanger, and then fasten with stud bolt (ma) (). - Do not lift the convector holding it from the fan, trying emitting damage. - Check the work done Reassemble the cover and the humidifier after the electrical and gas connection. 6 INSTALLATION

17 ELETCTRICAL COLLEGAMENTS - The convector is fabricated completely wired and furnished with the electrical plug. Is necessary to realize an electrical wire type HAR H 0 RRF with a conduction of mm. + cm Is necessary also to have a ground connection, if this is not done the manufacturer takes no responsibility for the damage. L L N It prohibited the use of the gas tube or water pipe for the apparatus ground setting. N GAS CONNECTION - Check on the technical label that is on the heat exchanger cover, for the kind of gas that the convector uses. - Use the proper gas tubes and pipe fitting. The etching under the convector is a /8" M UNI ISO /. - When the gas alimentation, is on the right side of the convector for eventuating any problems use a nipples After the gas connection is done, do the first seal tests. 18 PRELIMINARY OPERATION The convector is furnished and preset for the gas function (G 0) and regulated in factory. Note: the apparatus can also be requested with the GPL gas function. First things to do before you start the convector check: - The electrical connections are properly done. Remember it is also important to realize a good ground connection and to respect the neutral phase. During the first starting, you might verify vapour and irritating smells not dangerous. To avoid these discomfort we advice to aerate the place. - If the convector is preset for the right gas, - The gas connection is correctly realized and the gas switch is opened FIRST DEVICE START The first thing to focus is that, if Echo convector has been installed from Technical Service Assistance. As long this is being done, the Technical is going to show you the start of the convector, and what are the things to do for a long period shut down See if the gas switch is turned on. 6 - Check if the wall switch is positioned (on). - See if the electric extension is inserted in the socket and the plug is inserted under the convector. - Adjust the atmospheric thermostat at number for a fast heating or as you prefer. - Position the Timer to manual. - After completing the above operations, turn on the main power switch to start the convector The convector is going to start the phase, and it is going to stop when it has reached the atmospheric temperature (It turns off the function single on the control panel). If there are going to be any problems, the convector is going to affect a stop of block, and it's going to illuminate the trigger release button.. To restart the convector, push the trigger release button after you wait to see if the convector starts this function. This operation can be repeated only or times. If the convector doesn't start after three attempts, place the main button to off and call Technical Service Assistance or the Manufacturer. When the convector is working you can program the hours you want it to stay turned on To active t this function you have to put the selector on the Automatic Timer. 8 INSTALLATION

19 PROCESSOR CONTROL BOX MALFUNCTION In the case that you are going to verified processor control box (p.c.b assy) malfunction: Push the reset button like in the picture. 6 6 CONTROLS DURING THE FIRST & AFTER STARTING SERVICE At the start verified that the gas pressures are as under the Table. Pg 6 The gas pressure value has to be as in the table. The fan starts when thermostat gives the consent. CUSTOMER SERVICE 9

20 GAS TRANSFORMATION The convector is preset for the methane gas (G0) following the technical label, but you can change at GPL (G0/G) with the transformation that is furnished. The transformation has to be done only by Technical Service Assistance, the manufacturer or by authorized persons even if convector has been already installed. -Shut down the convector with the main button, and then disconnect the electrical plug. Proceed to the disassembling of the cover () like explained in the chapter assembling & disassembling the cover. Sequence apparition - To make the transformation you have to disconnect the gas from the nipples R/8 () that is on the cap. - Take off the screws M () then slip off the cap and the burner group () - Unscrew the screws () and the burner () - Unscrew the injectors () change them with the new ones. Be real careful when you fasten the injector, check on the injector that it has the right values as in the table - The injectors seal and the nipples /8, are realized mechanically so you don t need a gasket. - Verified that the values on the nozzles ore as in the table below. Model mm methane LPG 8 0 Ø Ø,,6 0, 0,9 Ø,98,6 - Reassemble the burner, in the same way that you dissembled. - Proceed to the regulation as indicated in the Cap. - Regulation; verified the tubes gas connections capacity that goes from the gas valve to the burner. Change the gas labels; seal the parts that you made the regulation, after the transformation. Don t forget the old labels on the apparatus because it will cause problems or danger. 0 CUSTOMER SERVICE

21 REGULATION The convector is furnished with (G0) gas function following the Technical label, and the constructor already regulates it. If you make a new regulation, like exchanging the gas valve, or a gas transformation from Methane to GPL or reversed, this regulation has to be done from a Technical service Assistance or by the manufacture. - Gas methane G 0(0mbr); nominal & minimum pressure regulation. - Open the gas tap put the electrical plug under the convector then pushes the start button and put to the max power. Alimentation pressure -Loosen the pressure screw () connect the manometer and verified the pressure value is included between /mbar (like indicated in the table) then close the screw after that the manometer tube is pulled away. -Loosen the pressure screw () connect the manometer verified the nominal and minimum pressure values are as specified in the table. Nominal pressure With the convector in function at a max power verified that the values of the nominal pressure are as specified in the table. To make a regulation operate on the pressure regulator that is at the edge of the valve gas, then take off the protection cap. If you rotate the regulator () screw clockwise the pressure increase, rotating counter clockwise the pressure decrease. After that, check that all the regulation are done, fasten the cap then close with cover. Minimum pressure Proceed to the minimum pressure regulation after that you regulated the max pressure! With the convector in function at a minimum power verified that the values of the minimum pressure are as specified in the table. To make a regulation operate on the screw that is on the modulator body (). Rotating the regulator screw () clockwise the pressure decrease, rotating counter clockwise the pressure increases. - GPL butane G0 (9mbar), Propane G (mbar); minimum and nominal regulation. - Open the gas taps put the electrical plug under the convector then push the start button and put to the max power. Alimentation pressure -Loosen the pressure screw () connect the manometer and verified the pressure value is included between 9mbar with the Butane and mbar with Propane then close the screw. In the case that the net pressure is low, operate on the low-pressure regulator that is put on the Gas tank. - Verified that the establishment GPL vaporization capacity is sufficient. Nominal pressure With the convector in function at a max power loosen the outlet pressure screw () then connect the manometer and verified that the nominal pressure values are as specified in the table (Nozzle Pressure). 22 In the GPL function, only for the + categories the regulator has to be out of service fastening clockwise the adjustment screw () at an immediately inferior value to the alimentation max pressure. At verification done, take away the manometer and fasten the screw. Whenever the apparatus is going to be regulated at pure Propane, to avoid heat exchanger overheating, is necessary knowing that you are using the proper gas, but if you use a un proper gas like a mixture of Propane/Butane or pure Butane you might have problems. Minimum pressure regulation Proceed to the minimum pressure regulation after that you regulated the max pressure! To make a regulation operate on the screw that is on the modulator body (). Rotating the regulator screw () clockwise the pressure decrease, rotating counter clockwise the pressure increases. ORDINARY MAINTENANCE -The convector maintenance is important for the efficiency and the reliability of the radiator.we recommend that Technical Service Assistance perform the maintenance once a year. Preliminary operations: -Disconnect the electrical alimentation taking off the electrical plug from the apparatus otherwise; place the wall switch to the off position. -Close the gas tap. -Wait that the convector gets cold completely CONVECTOR CLEAN OUT Cover cleaning The only cleaning that is required by the owner, involves removing the cover, and wiping it clean the dust, which may have collected. Do not put grease or lubricants on any parts of the convector. To clean plastic or painted parts don t use any product that will cause damage to the apparatus. It is important that the switch is turned to the off position on the control penal. Position the wall switch on off. Wait that the convector gets cold completely. Do not allow water or any other liquid to be applied directly to the cover, uses dampened clothes to do the operation that you want. Do not allow liquids on the cover or, on other parts of the convector trying avoiding damages. Burner clean out If you want a good burner clean, especially if the convector has been working in dirty. Places, or it didn t work at all, use the compressor to blow next to the injector; it will come out all the residues and the impurity caused from the burner. CUSTOMER SERVICE

23 Check all the injectors if are good. Don t use metallic utensil. Cleaning Electrode - The ignition electrode () and revelation () have to be cleaned very carefully, after a period of time they get fragile because of the work they have to perform. - Unscrew the screws ( o ) and extract the electrode group ( o ) using a little brush with metallic hair for cleaning, after insert the electrode group ( o ) if necessary exchange the seal gasket () be real careful to not damage the electrode. COMPONENTS REPLACEMENT Processor control box (P.C.B assy) replacement: - Card control or flame control. - Follow the indication to exchange the flame control (). - Unscrew the screws () from the card control. - Correctly on plug the connectors. - Exchange the flame control. - Be real careful plugging the connectors. Atmospheric thermostat Replacement Follow the indication for exchanging the thermostat: - Disconnect the cable connectors and the thermostat bulb () away from the clips. - Take off the regulation knob () unscrewing the two screw MA under it. - Extract away from the hole the thermostat. - Component replacement, after do the peace assemblage. 24 Fan replacement Follow the indication to replace the fan: - Take off the electrical connectors () that are on the fan motor. - Take off the ground connector that is on the fan motor. - Unscrew the screws () that fasten the fan to the supports (). - Replace the fan then after do the assemblage. Fuse replacement In the case that the convector doesn t start because of a short circuit the first thing to check is the fuse. - Unscrew the outside cap () and extract - Remove the fuse () verify that if the fuse has a strange color or the inside filament is broken if it is so change the fuse with another one, the type A - 0 V. Electrode replacement. Follow the indication to replace the electrode: - The ignition electrode () and revelation () half to be cleaned real carefully, after a period of time they get fragile because of the work they which they do. - Take off the high-tension cable. - Unscrew the screws ( o ) and extract the electrode group ( o ). - Reassemble the electrode ( o ) with the reversed sequence of the assemblage replace the seal gasket () be real careful at not damage the electrodes ceramic insulator. - Reconnect the cables on the processor control box (P.C.B assy) (6). Thermostat Fan replacement Follow the indication to replace the Fan. Thermostat (): - Disassemble the stirrup () unscrew the screw (). - Take off the electrical connectors from the thermostat (). - Reassemble the thermostat group in the reverse sequence. First insert the stirrup () on the buttonhole in the superior part, than fasten with the screw () being real careful to connect the thermostat. The thermostat reached a C, before the fan starts working. CUSTOMER SERVICE

25 Security thermostat replacement Follow the indication to replace the Security thermostat (): - Disassemble the stirrup () unscrew the screw (). - Take off the electrical connectors from the security thermostat (). - Reassemble the thermostat group in the reverse sequence. First insert the stirrup () on the buttonhole in the superior part, than fasten with the screw () being real careful to connect the security thermostat collegaments. White-Rodger valve gas coil replacement Follow the indication to replace White-Rodger valve gas coil: - Unscrew the screws that hold the stirrup () that block the coil () at the valve body () and replace. - Extract the fail-soft coil () taking it out real careful. - Replace the new fail-soft coil () putting in the right position. - replace the flask () to stop the coil. Triages Modulator Coil replacement Follow the indication to replace Triages Modulator Coil: - Take off the electrical connectors. - Unscrew the nut () that fasten that block the coil, () at the valve body () And replace. - Replace with new coil. - Assemble also the electrical connectors. Diode bridge replacement. Follow the indication to replace Diode bridge replacement: - Extract the diode bridge () from the clip - Find the fail-soft bridge - Take off the electrical connectors - Replace the diode bridge and assemble as the reversed sequence. 37 SECURITY RULE When using a product with combustion or electrical energy, always follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of injury. Read this manual carefully to learn its use and limitations as well as potential hazards associated with its use. It prohibited to children and disabled persons the use of the convector. -Electrical Hazard: Do not touch the convector with part of your body wet. -Do not touch the grill when hot air is coming out. -To reduce the risk of injury, always unplug this machine before performing any maintenance to it, such as cleaning any part of the convector. Never disassemble this machine, or try to do any maintenance, which has not been recommended by this manual. -Do not pull, take apart, or wring the electrical cable that is outside of the convector. -Do not put objects on top of the convector this will cause a malfunction or serious damage to the convector. Do not use this product in the presence of an explosive gaseous fume. In this case - Open the doors and windows. - Close the combustion device. - Call the Technical Service for assistance. - Children and persons who do not have adequate knowledge of this product are prohibited from using this product. 38 GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS READ AND SAVE ALL INSTRUC- TIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. Your Technical service Assistance may be contacted to replace this manual if it becomes damaged or is lost. The convector is guaranteed to do the work that it has been created for from the manufacturer. The warranty does not apply where: persons other than the Authorized Technical Service Centre have made repairs or attempted repairs. The convector has to be installed by a qualified technical for the low of the - march 990 n 6 as indicated in this manual. 39 Convector ECHO Fox GAS CONVECTOR TYPE C FOR HEATING. user

40 THE ECHO CONVECTOR The Echo convector is a gas radiator with an atmospheric burner assisted by a high efficiency fan. This convector is the series of type C. The fan that is assembled has two velocities. Max power-functioning. A transparent cover is provided to avoid damage to the main power control panel. To open the panel, simply lift it up. -The convector can be ordered with a humidification cup. user 8

41 FOCUS SERVICE The first thing to focus is that, if Echo convector has been installed from Technical Service Assistance. As long this is being done, the Technical is going to show you the start of the convector, and what are the things to do for a long period shut down. - See if the gas switch is turned on. - Check if the wall switch is positioned (on). - See if the electric extension is inserted in the socket and the plug is inserted under the convector. - Adjust the atmospheric thermostat at number for a fast heating or as you prefer. 9 user

42 - Position the Timer to manual. - Position the switch at the speed you desire: or. Position -- minimum power. Position -- maximum powers. - After completing the above operations, turn on the main power switch to start the convector. The convector is going to start the phase, and it going to stop when it has reached the atmospheric temperature.. (It turns off the function single on the control panel) To restore the convector, push the trigger release button, and wait the restart phase, until the function starting. user 0

43 This operation can be repeated only or times. If the convector doesn't start after three attempts, place the main button to off and call Technical Service Assistance or the Manufacturer. When the convector is in function, regulate the watch dial on the exact hour, and the timer in the automatic functioning. To activate the convector automatic function, it enough positioning on "watches the function selector. user

44 WATCH REGULATION. The first regulation that you have to do on the watch is the minutes and the hours, and subsequently the function periods or the convector halt. A How to adjust the current time; Rotate only clockwise the clock dial until the right hour is indicated from the present point that is on the control panel. Function periods (ON): If you move carefully from the centre of the watch to the outside the cordless plug, you insert the minutes or the hours you want the convector to work. B Stop periods (OFF): Move the dials toward the inside the corresponding cordless plug. To the time band in the way you desire, the convector to remain deactivated. The convector can be stopped with the function selector on the (0 position) or with the main switch. In the first case the Timer watch rest in function, in the second case the watch stops and the current hour have to be newly regulated at the electrical restoration. user

45 ATMOSPHERIC THERMOSTAT REGULATION The handle can regulate the atmospheric thermostat; if you want to increase the temperature you move the handle rotating clockwise on number, to decrease the temperature, counter-clockwise on number. After that the new regulation is effect wait that the convector has completed the function cycle, and verified the states obtained. Repeat the operations until coming at the desired conditions. user

46 LONG PERIODS SHUT DOWN If the convector is going to be stopped for a long period of time, is important to follow these sequences. -Position the function selector on 0. -Position the main switch on the control panel to the off position. -Place the wall switch to the off position. Disconnect the electric cord and, unplug the plug under the convector. -Close the gas tap. user

47 CLEAN OUT SOLUTION AND PROBLEMS The only necessary cleaning by the owner is to clean the cover. Before effecting:. It is important that the wall switch and switch on the control penal is turned to the off position.. Wait that the convector gets cold completely. The only cleaning that is required by the owner, involves removing the cover, and wiping the dust, which may have collected. Do not put grease or lubricants on any parts of the convector. - Electrical alimentation. If you have turned the main switch to the on position and it does not illuminate the button, be sure that the main electrical cable is inserted in the proper way under the convector. If there is a problem, call the Technical Service Assistance. Shut down -Verified the gas tap is open. -Verified that the combustion is available. For the cover cleaning, use dampened clothes to do the operation that you want. -Verified that the main cable is inserted in the proper way. Do not allow liquids on the cover or, on other parts of the convector. Try to avoid damages. -To restart the convector, push the trigger release button. This operation may only be repeated - times. If there is a problem, call Technical Service Assistance. MAINTENANCE -The convector maintenance is important for the efficiency, and the reliability of the radiator.we recommend that Technical Service Assistance perform the maintenance once a year.
