2 Description of functions Basic functions he universal controller (N) compares the extract air temperature acquired by the extract air temperature sensor (B2) (alternatively: room temperature acquired by the room temperature sensor (B2a)), with the setpoint. If there is a deviation, the controller will readjust the heating valve () or cooling valve () until the required temperature is reached. he controller also compares the temperature acquired with the dewpoint sensor (B27) with the setpoint. If there is a deviation, the controller will readjust the heating valve () until the required temperature is reached. he fan is released when there is no frost signal and no fault status message for control mode, and when the controller is not in commissioning mode. If the plant is shut down, the heating valve and cooling valve are closed. Frost protection with frost protection monitor If connected to the controller, the frost protection monitor (F) prevents the air temperature downstream from the heating coil from falling below the adjusted frost protection value (typically 5 C). If the air temperature at the frost protection monitor falls below the frost protection value, the controller will open the heating valve and, if required, deactivate release of the fan (relay will drop out). Operating mode selection Comfort / Protection An external switch (e.g. time switch) can be used (S5) to switch the controller s operating mode from Comfort to Protection (PR), or vice versa. Operating mode selection Comfort / Economy An external switch (e.g. manual switch) can be used (S6) to switch the controller s operating mode from Comfort to Economy (ECO), or vice versa. Optional functions inimum and maximum limitation of the supply air temperature o activate this function, a supply air temperature sensor (B) must be connected to input X2 as a limit sensor. If the supply air temperature rises above or drops below the limit value (LI AX = 5 C, LI IN = 6 C preset) the normal control function will be overridden by the limit function with PI mode. Summer / winter compensation his function is activated if an outside sensor (B9) or duct temperature sensor (B9a) is used for acquiring the outside temperature. he values SU-D and WIN-D for setpoint compensation are set to 0 K as standard. In that case, no setpoint compensation will take place. o enable the function, the values of SU-D and WIN-D must be preselected (refer to "Parameter settings"). his means that setpoint compensation acts on the Comfort and the Economy setpoint at high and low outside temperatures. Heating: o enhance comfort, the extract air temperature setpoint is continuously raised when the outside temperature falls in the range from 0 C to 0 C (WIN-S = 0 C and WIN-END = 0 C preset) (winter compensation) Cooling: o save cooling energy and to avoid cooling shocks, the extract air temperature setpoint is continuously raised (summer compensation) when the outside temperature rises in the range from 20 C to 0 C (SU-S = 20 C and SU-END = 0 C preset) External controller signal An output signal of some other controller can be fed to the controller's input X (DC V signal). In that case, the controller delivers the maximum value from the external and the internal signal. Function variants Frost protection with frost protection sensor on the airside he standard frost protection function is configured for using a frost protection monitor (DI), but can be changed for using a frost protection sensor (Fa) on the air-side (DC V).
