3 General description Thermodynamic double flow dehumidifier High Energy Performance range This range of units is tailor made for dehumidification, ventilation, heating and energy recovery on variable occupancy aquatic facilities such as municipal swimming pools, leisure pools, balneotherapy centres, etc. The units include various components and features that maximise energy savings. 5 General description The ETT packaged unit is delivered ready to operate. Its full aluminium structure (frame & casing) ensures an excellent corrosion protection (20-year anti-corrosion guarantee). The ETT unit can be installed either on a rooftop or at ground level. GREEN DESIGN involves DECONSTRUCTION: ETT units are 98% recyclable (re-use and recycling rates based on CH 99 RR HPE+). Our technical choices have several impacts on the environment: Law: European directive 2008/98/EC of 19th November 2008: - The 26th point: "The polluter-pays principle is a guiding principle at European and international levels. The waste producer and the waste holder should manage the waste in a way that guarantees a high level of protection of the environment and human health." Energy: ETT, innovator in Heat Transfer solutions. luminium: a good choice for the planet! - luminium is endlessly 100% recyclable. - Recycling covers over 30% of aluminium needs. Low polluting ETT manufacturing process: - Selective sorting per job, all waste recycled. No paint, no use of water. - ISO 1001 Certifi cation (Environmental Management System). - Certifi cate of capability to handle refrigerants, reference number 637, according to rticle R of the French Environmental Code. Efficient waste management: - Filtration: ETT units include "ecodesigned" air fi lters (selective sorting: frame - grille - media) We placed ease of operation at the heart of our units design: The separate technical section facilitates service and control of the unit and allows measurement and adjustment during operation. The EST controller is specifi cally designed for this application. It allows great fl exibility, thus optimum performance of the ETT unit through a user-friendly interface, be it local or remote (with remote display, PC or MS). Each unit is checked and tested at the factory, prior to shipment, and a test certifi cate is issued. ETT Quality organisation is certifi ed ISO 9001:2008 (FNOR Certifi cate no.199/2016f). 6 Operating principle Dehumidification is ensured by the heat pump cooling cycle coupled with a heat pipe. This heat pipe recovers heat without external energy, which allows signifi cant energy savings and compressors size reduction from 30 to 50%, thus reducing electricity consumption. Exhaust air is dried up fi rstly through a pre-cooling process on the heat pipe and then through fi nal cooling on the evaporator. The heat recovered is transferred to dehumidifi ed supply air, fi rstly through the other half of the heat pipe and then in the air-cooled condenser. Due to latent heat recovery and energy supplied by the compressors, supply air temperature at condenser outlet is higher than air temperature at unit inlet (room temperature). The unit operates as a reversible heat pump: > source: inside air > treated fl uid: inside air + hygienic air In these modes, the unit can operate: > in all fresh air / all exhaust air mode with supply air temperature control. > in all recycling mode during vacancy periods with return air temperature and humidity control. > in any intermediate position with return air temperature and humidity control. The following operating modes are available: > dehumidifi cation through fresh air modulation without thermodynamics > thermodynamic dehumidifi cation with heat recovery through the air-cooled condenser > thermodynamic dehumidifi cation with heat recovery through the water-cooled condenser (if option selected) > thermodynamic cooling using the reversible heat pump (if option selected) > thermodynamic cooling with heat recovery through the auxiliary water-cooled condenser (if option selected) The ETT packaged unit comprises 3 different sections: 1/ The exhaust air section ensures dehumidifi cation and energy recovery. 2/ The separate technical section houses the refrigeration components, the electrical board and the control components. 3/ The supply air section allows air change and air handling. 6 DESHU HPE+ - 03/
7 Description luminium frame and casing assembly designed with: - Rigid, compact, lightweight and weather-resistant casing that includes a 20-year guarantee against corrosion on frame & casing. - Watertight floor with drainage outlets around the unit, connected to rubber siphons. - G3-type aluminium casing. - ccess through large "easy to remove" panels. Panels are closed with square locks. Doors tightness is ensured by a fl exible gasket under compression, providing ideal elasticity day after day. - Inner double skin sound and thermal insulation using 50 mm thickness M0/2-s1, d0 glass wool with a 13/10 thickness aluminium sheet for mechanical protection and easy maintenance. - Floor acoustic and thermal insulation using 80 mm thickness M0/1 rock wool with double skin. - 3-damper mixing box including a motorised fresh air damper with bird proof grid and motorised exhaust air and mixed air dampers to ensure the desired proportions and optimise "free cooling" economiser phases. Dampers have extruded aluminium blades with low pressure drop thanks to the plane wing profi le. The damper frame is made of aluminium. ir assembly designed with: - Eco-concept 98 mm filtration (supply and exhaust air), with easy-to-remove fi lters - pleated media, effi ciency G 95% SHRE gravimetric test, with pressure switch for fouling control. - High performance free wheeling ventilation on supply and exhaust air. This technology avoids losses due to pulleybelt transmissions, thus improving energy effi ciency. Fans are protected by an epoxy coating. - Each electronically commutated fan motor, IE class "Premium effi ciency", features a frequency inverter that allows: reduced kickback during start-up when textile ducts are used (soft start mode); maximum rotation speed regulation according to pressure drops on site; reduced speed operation in free-cooling mode for signifi cant energy savings. Energy and thermodynamic assembly designed with: - Refrigeration circuits compliant with European Directive on pressure equipment (PED 97/23/EC). - R10 refrigerant. - Fixed heat pipe, copper pipes and aluminium fi ns, with high recovery capacity, designed for optimised heat pump effi ciency. Exhaust air heat is recovered on the fi rst half of the heat pipe and transferred to fresh air side through the other half. This process requires no energy. The heat pipe is protected by a vinyl coating. - Direct expansion exchangers, copper pipes and aluminium fi ns, with high exchange power optimised by a thermostatic expansion valve. They have been selected for air velocities lower than 2.5 m/s to avoid condensates entrainment. Coils are oversized in order to achieve the highest possible COP. Direct expansion exchangers are protected by a vinyl coating. - 2 thermostatic expansion valves with external pressure equalisation per circuit optimise cooling cycle effi ciency, reducing energy consumption. - nti-acid filter drier. - HP and LP switches. 8 Control Description dditional heating assembly designed with: - Heating auxiliary (electric heater or hot water coil) specially designed for the project. Electrical assembly designed with: - Electrical board compliant with European standards EN and EN , including: - ETT controller with display. - Power switch with lockable external handle for full load break volts transformer for control circuits. - Fault synthesis with pending dry contact on terminal. - Numbered terminal blocks with disconnecting terminals for remote controls or transfers. - Terminal block for compressors load shedding. - Numbered internal wiring with numbered ferrules at both extremities. - Ik3 breaking capacity, basis 10 k. - Components protection using circuit breakers. Control assembly designed with: - One or more EST-type controllers (uilding Energy Saving Technology) especially developed by ETT for this range of units. Programs are updated annually in order to add functions requested for some applications and to optimise units electricity consumption. The microprocessor, memory and controllers size are adapted to the chosen applications and options by integrating a program set-up in the factory out of 160 possible confi gurations. The controller is in a plastic box which guarantees a high mechanical protection and reduces electrostatic shocks threats. - CTN type temperature sensors and 0V/10V hygrometry probe. Their accuracy and liability have been tested and validated both at the factory and on site. mong other functions, the controller includes: - On/off with remote contact or vacancy contact. - Occupancy / vacancy modes according to programmed schedule (2 time slots per day). - Fault synthesis with dry contact for transfer to customer system. - Security management (freezestat, smoke detector, HP switch...) and faults management. - Optimisation and equalisation of compressors operating time. - Supply and exhaust air flow rate control according to a progressive law based on inside temperature and humidity setpoints. - Supply and exhaust air flow rate measurement, indication and adjustment for accurate air fl ow rates control based on unit's operating modes. - Control of unit's operating points with any outside environment to manage occupant comfort while considering both energy effi ciency and building conservation. - Night energy consumption management with limited ventilation. - Written faults history (no code needed) with time and outside temperature indication. - Operating time counting for unit, compressors and auxiliaries. 8 DESHU HPE+ - 03/
