AHP is a synergistic blend of commonly used, safe ingredients that when combined with low levels of hydrogen peroxide produce exceptional potency as a germicide and performance as a cleaner. AHP has an excellent Safety & Environmental Profile for the user and the environment. It is non-irritating to eyes & skin, is free of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), there are no toxic ingredients in the formula and AHP does not leave any residue on the surface once dried. What are VOCs? Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. VOCs are emitted by most cleaning products. VOC s can adversely affect indoor air quality, and the inhalation of air containing such compounds released by cleaning and disinfecting agents has been associated with allergies and occupational asthma. PURE OXYGEN products have been developed specifically for use with the range of Anivac Bathing Systems and have a money back guarantee. Visit our website at for more information and ordering. What is the difference between AHP and the Hydrogen Peroxide that can be purchased at a Drug Store? AHP is a formulation of Hydrogen Peroxide, surfactants and other inert ingredients which results in better cleaning and faster germicidal performance than Hydrogen Peroxide at 3%, while being many times weaker of a hydrogen peroxide concentration. Are you using the power of PURE OXYGEN? Many cleaning and/or disinfectant products on the market have pleasant smells such as citrus, lime etc. Why doesn t AHP have a scent? A reason for creating a scent-free product is to avoid the masking of odours. Clean really has no smell. When you clean and disinfect with AHP there isn t a scent to mask the cleanliness. Your animal, room or facility will eventually just smell clean. 3

ANIVAC ANIVAC ANIMAL BATHING & VACUUM SYSTEMS GETTING STARTED NOTE: First time users will likely use more water than normal until they ve used the system a few times. Using just water the first time will save on shampoo and allow you to get used to the operation of your Anivac. EcoWash-n-Vac Remove the lid of the system and fill the fresh water tank with warm water and shampoo. Replace the lid. Fill the Defoaming Solution tank inside the lid with Anivac Defoaming Solution. Connect the large wand to the end of the hose assembly and move onto the adjusting the nozzle stage. The on/off switches are located on the rear portion of the cover. These can be used independently depending on the cleaning task at hand. When bathing animals both are used. The vacuum motor can be used by itself when using the system for dry vacuuming. NOTE: Using Anivac Defoaming Solution in the EcoWash and ProHeat systems will greatly help in assuring the long life of the vacuum motor as it will help prevent foam bubbles from being vacuumed through the motor. The water in the foam WILL shorten the life of your motor and could lead to premature failure of the motor. As such we strongly recommend you always use the defoaming solution. In any instance ALWAYS take care ensuring you do not allow foam to build up inside the waste tank to the point where it may be vacuumed through the motor. ProHeat Fill the systems fresh water tank by putting a hose into the front opening of the machine. You can either use warm or cold water, depending on whether you plan to use the built in on-demand water heater. Pour the appropriate amount of Anivac Defoaming Solution into the waste water tank located on the top of the machine. Connect the machine end of the hose assembly to the connection port near the top front of the system. Connect the solution line port to the water connection on right hand side of the front of the machine. Connect the large wand to the end of the hose assembly and move on to the adjusting nozzle stage. Olympic Plug the hose assemblies two connectors into the wall fittings. The vacuum hose simply plugs into the wall fitting. Plugging the hose into the fitting will turn on the vacuum machine. Unplugging it will turn it off. The solution line connects by gently pushing the connector onto the fitting that is either behind the door on in-wall systems or beside the vacuum connection on on-wall systems. Once the connector hits a stop turn it clockwise 1/4 turn to connect. To remove, 1/4 turn counter clockwise and pull. Connect the large wand to the end of the hose assembly and move on to the adjusting nozzle stage. 4

GETTING STARTED THE ANIVAC SYSTEM ANIVAC Adjusting the nozzles The nozzles are adjusted by squeezing the pins in on the sides of the nozzle assembly and sliding the assembly to a new position. The nozzles should be adjusted so that they are just touching the skin when the vacuum wand is held with slight pressure against the animals hair. Should the nozzles not be penetrating the coat sufficiently you will find that a lot of water will fall away from the animal and onto the ground. This is due to the fact that animal hair naturally resists the penetration of water to such and extent that it will prevent the water from going through to the skin. Alternatively, should you have the nozzles extended out too far you will find that the vacuum wand will not be able to vacuum the water from the coat, simply due to the fact that the nozzles are out too far thereby preventing the vacuum wand from sitting onto the hair. Adjusting vacuum force The wand handle is equipped with a sliding valve that can be used to reduce the amount of suction at the end of the wand. We recommend you start with this valve fully open when using the small wand to bathe animals. It s also useful when using the larger wand on an animal that is just being introduced to the system. Changing wands The wands are changed by turning the connector on the solution line of the wand assembly in a counterclockwise direction 1/4 turn, and pulling gently. Slide the end of the wand from the handle and replace it with the other wand by sliding it onto the handle. Then connect the solution line with a gentle push until you feel a stop and then make 1/4 turn in a clockwise direction. Clip on brush The clip on brush is used for washing the legs of horses and cattle as well as areas that are devoid of hair growth, such as full body clipped animals. It is also a very useful tool for cleaning any hard surface areas. Clip the brush onto the end of the wand by pushing it onto the end until you hear a click sound. To remove the brush gently pull back on one of the tabs on the side of the brush while pulling the brush away from the wand. For best results we recommend you position the nozzles into the spot closest to the brush. 5

ANIVAC ANIVAC ANIMAL BATHING & VACUUM SYSTEM THE CLEANING PROCESS Generally, the cleaning wand is used in the direction of the flow of an animal s coat. For first time uses on horses and cattle, we recommend that you start at the shoulder area, which can be less sensitive. In the case of dogs, it s usually beneficial to start at the top of the back. Initially, leave the machine off and just comb the animal with the wand for a few minutes until the animal begin to relax. Start the vacuum motor and give the animal a few moments to become accustomed to the sound of the machine, all the while assuring them that all is well. Begin the washing process by pulling the trigger on the wand and releasing the cleaning solution into the coat of the animal. We suggest that for first time animals you slowly introduce them to the sensation of having water sprayed directly against their skin by pulling the wand along while quickly tapping the trigger (so as to only spray small amounts of water under the coat). Repeat this stroke in the same area, while continuing to tap the trigger. Do this until the area is completely wet. Once this is done you should be able to clean continuously. NOTE: Always keep the wand parallel to the body of the animal. If you lift your hand away from the animal you will be pulling the wash nozzles away from the skin and out of the hair. This will result in water leaking away from the animal and a less successful clean. If water is still leaking away from the animal, it normally means you should move the wand along the body of the animal at a faster pace. Continue cleaning the rest of the animal, pulling the wand along in the direction of the coat. Ensure you keep an eye on the clear end of the wand. Should you see a large amount of dirt come out of any particular area on the animal, stroke the area repeatedly until you see the water run clean. The following cleaning pattern is suggested: Along the back and part way down the sides moving front to back Animal s sides and top portion of legs moving top to bottom. When cleaning the outside of the legs reach under the animal to clean the inside of the opposite leg. Neck moving top to bottom Underside moving front to back 6

GETTING STARTED THE CLEANING PROCESS ANIVAC On horses, clean the mane by passing the wand in a downward motion along the length of the hair. When cleaning the tail, gently cup the tail with one hand while placing the cleaning wand into the opposite side of the tail. Pull the trigger and draw both hands along the length of the tail at the same time. Repeat the process while placing the wand onto the underside of the tail. Repeat for sides of larger tails. To clean the underside of dogs, lift the leg on the side you re standing and then reach under to clean from the neck down under the belly. Cleaning the Lower Legs and Face The clip on brushes that are supplied with your system are ideal for cleaning the contoured areas of horse and cattle legs and are an excellent tool for cleaning spots or manure and other stains. For the legs and face, use the smaller wand and clip the brush into place. Move the nozzles so that they are in the position that is closest to the brush. Then use the brush in a combing motion to clean the legs and face. When the brush is on you may also use the wand in a gentle scrubbing motion. Removing Manure Stains While nothing will remove set in manure stains from a animal s coat (that has had time to actually dye the hair), the Anivac system will do an excellent job of removing r elatively fresh stains. Manure stains are generally not deeply embedded into the coat and are sitting on the top layer of the animal s coat. As such, we suggest the following course of action. 1) Pre-spray the stains prior to cleaning with a mixture of Pure Oxygen shampoo (mixed one part shampoo to four parts water in a spray bottle) 2) After the shampoo has had a chance to loosen up the stain (about five minutes) use the brush wand in a sweeping motion on the stain while pulling the solution trigger. 7

Keep free of dust lint, hair or anything else that may block air flow. 7) DO NOT pick up anything that is smoking or burning such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes. 8) DO NOT use to pick up hazardous chemicals. 9) DO NOT use citrus-based (D-Limonene) cleaners in this machine as they will erode the plastic housing. 10) Disconnect all controls before unplugging. 11) Turn unit off immediately if foam or liquid comes from machine exhaust. Empty and clean out recovery (dirty water) tank. If this occurs you may have very soft water. To alleviate, reduce the shampoo mixture until the foaming is eliminated. In rare instances it may be necessary to add a de-foaming agent to the system by way of the installation of an additional spraying mechanism at the main system. 12) DO NOT use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present. 13) DO NOT use where oxygen or anesthetics are used. 14) Replace damaged or worn parts immediately with genuine original equipment parts to maintain safety and ensure the longevity of your machine. 15) This unit must be connected to a properly grounded outlet only. DANGER: Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. DO NOT modify the plugs! If it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS This machine must be properly grounded. If it should malfunction or break down, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electrical current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This machine is equipped with two pigtail cords having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The pigtails must be inserted into an appropriately designed and rated plug for your system. In the case of 120V systems 15amps and for 220/240V systems eight amps. NOTE: For further protection we recommend the use of a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) circuit breaker or outlet. 9

ANIVAC OLYMPIC CENTRAL ANIMAL BATHING & VACUUM SYSTEM Setting up your System for Use IMPORTANT Turn on Water supply for vacuum inlet On the A3800 Water Line Supply Assembly that takes cold water to the A3000 Vacuum System - Turn on the valve that supplies water to the 1/4 line (the smaller of the two) and leave this on at all times. This supplies water to the incoming air stream and ensures all dirt is caught and flushed into your drain system and not carried into the vacuum motor. Not having this on will cause dust to be carried into the vacuum motor which WILL cause severe damage to your system, which is not covered by warranty. Set Water Temperature for the System Plug in Vacuum System and Water Pump. Connect a hose/ wand assembly to one of the solution outlets installed previously and pull the trigger on the wand. Hold until water comes out and let run for several minutes so the water temperature can stabilize. Should adjustment be needed you can adjust the cold and hot water valves (the ones you installed to feed water to the pump cabinet in the kit below) so that you get warm water coming out of the wand. Plug your vacuum hose assembly into one of the vacuum inlets this will trigger the system to turn on. Then plug in the solution line that is at the end of the vacuum hose. The line is connected by pushing it lightly onto the fitting inside the inlet and turning it ¼ turn clockwise. In the case of on-wall installations the connection is at the bottom of the solution assembly refer to the following photos. Enjoy your system! 10

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS & MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES ANIVAC MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES All mechanical systems require some maintenance. Your ANIVAC system is no exception. Beyond the occasional external cleaning, we recommend a complete cleaning and inspection after 500 hours of usage. 1) Keep the equipment clean, both inside and out. 2) Flush solution systems regularly by replacing your shampoo bottle with one of pure white vinegar. Run the system until you can smell the vinegar solution coming out of the end of the wand. Then let sit overnight prior to flushing with clean water. This will counter act hard water and alkaline deposits and will aid in keeping the spray nozzles clean. Do this at least on a monthly basis for best results. 3) Clean the water filters on a regular basis. Since we cannot determine the level of cleanliness of your water supply, we recommend that both filters be removed and inspected after the first months of operation and then at intervals deemed adequate thereafter. Under no circumstances should the filters be left more than 6 months without cleaning. Not doing so will shorten the life of your pump. There is one filter on the main system water inlet and one inside the pump cabinet. Remove the cover and the screen inside. Clean the screen thoroughly and replace. Do not overtighten the lids when reassembling! 4) Do not allow the unit to freeze! Do not store in freezing temperatures unless a suitable amount of Plumbing Line Anti-Freeze has been run through the entire system, including tank, pump, solution lines and all wands. Plumbing line anti-freeze is safe for human and animal use and is available at most hardware or recreational vehicle stores. DO NOT USE AUTOMOTIVE ANTI-FREEZE!! 11

ANIVAC OLYMPIC CENTRAL ANIMAL BATHING & VACUUM SYSTEM Winterizing Procedure First, turn off the water supply to the entire system and unplug the electrical cord of the A3100 Filter and Pump Assembly. Then remove the plastic water line that runs into the filter assembly by pressing in on the sleeve collar and gently pulling on the hose. Run a length of 9.5mm (3/8 ) hose into a jug of Plumbing Line Anti-Freeze and back to the filter port. Then, plug the electrical cord of the pump back in. Starting from the inlet farthest away from the vacuum system, plug your hose assembly into each of the solution line ports and pull the trigger on the wand assembly until the anti freeze solution comes out the end (you will be able to tell by the colour). Repeat for each of your cleaning ports and you re done this portion of the system will be protected for the winter. Remove the line running into the cold water supply for the main vacuum system (not the supply lines for the pump and filter cabinet above. Remove the small water line from the end of the shutoff valve that feeds cold water into the rear of the vacuum system. Cut the compression fitting from the end of the line (Note that it will need to be replaced when re-hooking up the system). Insert the line into the outlet line coming from the pump (you will plug into the supplied reducing fitting that is part of the system). Plug back in the pump and main vacuum system. Have someone turn on the vacuum by plugging in a vacuum hose. This will force the anti-freeze into the internal workings of the machine. Now the winterizing is complete. If you turn off the water to the entire barn then leave all valves in the open position until such time as you set the system up to run again. If any questions please contact Anivac directly and we will be glad to help you through the process! The pump components are very expensive and freeze damage is not covered by Warranty. 12

WINTERIZING PROCEDURE & TROUBLESHOOTING ANIVAC TROUBLESHOOTING Unit will not start 1) Check the circuit breaker in your electrical panel. 2) Check fuse and breaker in the unit. 3) Verify the 24 volts circuit. To check proceed as follows : With a piece of metal (eg. coin) make contact between the two metal pins inside of the air inlet valve you are having the problem at. If the system starts, the metal end of the suction hose is defective clean the end thoroughly and retry. If the system does not start, check the circuit as follows: remove the two screws holding the cover plate in place and gently pull the cover out from the wall until you ve exposed the two low voltage screws. Using the same metal piece, make contact between the two screws of the 24 volt air inlet circuit plate. If the system does not start the 24 volt wire may be cut somewhere OR an air inlet valve is defective. To check, disconnect the 24 volt wires from the machine. Then use a small piece of wire to connect the two contact pins on the machine together. If the machine starts, there is a defect in the 24 volt wire circuit, go back and check all of the low voltage connections at each of the vacuum inlets and be sure they are clean and tight. If this does not rectify the problem trace the wires back to see if they ve been damaged and replace if necessary. You may also try replacing the inlet valve covers with new ones. If the unit does not start, call a certified electrician to check the 110 Volt circuit. If the unit will not stop Check the 24 volt circuit as follows: Disconnect one of the two 24 volt wires on the unit. If unit stops, the two wires are in contact somewhere in the circuit, OR an air inlet valve is defective. If the unit does not stop, the contractor on the machine is defective. Call a service agent. If you need a service agent, contact your supplier or call ANIVAC Tel : (905) Toll Free: Fax : (905) or to support@anivacfirst.com 13

ANIVAC PROHEAT ANIMAL BATHING & VACUUM SYSTEM OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Follow these easy step by step instructions to ensure proper operating performance. 1) Fill up the fresh water tank with water and shampoo. The large fill opening is at the front of the machine. 2) Attach two 12 gauge extension cords (not included) to each of the pigtail cords located on the lower backside of the unit. The red pigtail powers the heater while the black pigtail powers the vacuum motors and pump. 3) Plug each extension cord into a separate, grounded wall circuit of sufficient capacity. For 120V systems 20amps each and for 220/240V systems 10 amps each. When this is done the green indicator light will be lit. 4) Attach the hose and wand assembly to the unit. 5) Turn on the heater and the pump to the on position, the orange indicator light on the switch panel will be lit. 6) With the solution line attached to the wand and the machine, prime the pump by squeezing the trigger on the wand (hold the wand over the solution tank so the water sprays back into the tank). This will pump water into the heater and force air out of the solution line. Let the heater heat up for 3-5 minutes before proceeding. 7) Turn one vacuum switch to the on position. Note: the second vacuum motor is available for use on a animal that has a very thick heavy coat. 8) Due to the fact that the wands patented design places the water directly onto the skin of the animal (instead of onto the top of the hair as a water hose does) the use of cold water can be very shocking to the animal. Due to this please do not attempt to clean your animal with only cold water. A. Supplement the heater by adding lukewarm water into the solution tank instead of cold water. B. Use the machines heater to preheat the water by placing the wand back into the fresh water tank (with the trigger wand held on with tape or an elastic band) and running the machine with the heater on. By leaving this running for a suitable period of time you will gradually raise the temperature of the fresh water to a suitable level. NOTE: Your systems heater has protection that prevents it from heating water to a dangerous level - it is designed to only add as much heat as needed to bring the water up to a comfortable level for the animal. 9) When the vacuum tank is full, empty it by using the drain hose at the rear of the machine. To do this first take the machine to a suitable place for dumping the dirty water. Then simply unclip the drain hose from the clip at the rear of the machine, remove the plug from the end of the hose and lower the hose towards the ground, thereby starting the flow of dirty water out of the tank. When complete replace the plug and insert the hose back into the holding clip. If a pail is used to empty the waste tank, do not use the same pail to fill the solution tank as this can result in putting dirt into the solution line that can plug the filters and/or nozzles, and generally degrade the solution line system. 10) If you need to empty the solution tank, detach the wand from the end of the vacuum hose and insert the vacuum hose into the solution tank. Turn one vacuum switch to the on position and transfer the solution into the vacuum tank, where it can be disposed of as outlined above. 11) Clean any debris off of the vacuum stack filter by removing the access lid at the top of the machine, and reaching into the tank where the filter can be accessed. The on demand heater gives a boost to the temperature of the water that has been placed into the solution tank. However, it is important to always check the temperature of the water coming out of the wand prior to using it on your animal. In very cold temperatures such as during the winter it is possible that the temperature of the water coming from your water source will be too cold for the heater to overcome sufficiently for you to use to bathe the animal comfortably. Should this be the case you can help raise the final temperature of the water in one of two ways: 16

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS, MAINTENANCE & STORAGE ANIVAC Maintenance To receive reliable service from this equipment, regular maintenance is a requirement. Environments where animals are housed can be very dirty for any equipment. To get the most from your machine the following recommendations are offered. 1) Keep the equipment clean, both inside and out. 2) Lubricate brass quick disconnects and drain valves with a quality lubricant such as WD-40. 3) Flush solution systems regularly with a white vinegar solution of one cup vinegar to three cups of water. This will counter act hard water and alkaline deposits and will aid in keeping the spray nozzles clean. Fresh water tank Waste water drain hose Waste water tank 4) Do not allow fluid to remain in the fresh or waste water tanks for long periods of time. Keeping your system clean will add to its lifetime. 5) Clean the strainer in the solution tank, the filter on the vacuum stack in the vacuum tank and the ends of the wands assembly after each use. 6) Do not use the same receptacle (pail) to fill the solution tank that was used to remove waste water from the vacuum tank. 7) When the unit is not in use, leave the vacuum tank lid open. 8) At the end of each day, run the vacuum for 3 minutes with the lid open. Storage of equipment 1) Store machine indoors in a warm, dry area. If stored in cold temperatures you MUST winterize the system per the following directions or UNWARRANTIED SYSTEM DAMAGE WILL RESULT! 2) Recovery and solution tank should be empty and clean when the extractor is not in use. 3) Leave the recovery lid and the plug on the end of the drain valve open in order to air out the recovery tank. 4) Do not store in freezing temperatures unless a suitable amount of Plumbing Line Anti-Freeze has been run through the entire system, including tank, pump, solution lines and all wands. Plumbing line anti-freeze is safe for human and animal use and is available at most hardware or recreational vehicle stores. DO NOT USE AUTOMOTIVE ANTI-FREEZE!! 17

ANIVAC PROHEAT ANIMAL BATHING & VACUUM SYSTEM Winterizing Procedure Pour the plumbers anti-freeze into the solution tank, attach the hose and wand assembly, turn on the pump, pull the trigger on the wand in order to allow the antifreeze to pump through the system and out the end of the wand. Repeat as necessary for additional wands or hoses. Your system is now protected from freeze damage. Come warmer weather the antifreeze will be flushed out of the system the first time you run the machine. DO NOT USE AUTOMOTIVE ANTI-FREEZE!! TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION NOTE: all repairs must be done by a qualified individual. Unqualified persons risk personal injury and non-warrantied damage to their system ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM No electrical power. POSSIBLE CAUSE 1) Defective power cord. 2) Circuit breaker off or fuse blown. 3) Too much electrical cable distance from electrical panel SOLUTION 1) Replace 2) Turn circuit breaker on or replace fuse. 3) Lessen the distance the electricity must travel by either using shorter extension cords or by plugging into a receptacle that is closer to the electrical panel 3) Unplug any equipment using the same circuit. Switch is turned on. Intermittent power to motor(s). 1) Faulty electrical cable. 2) Defective switches. 3) Loose terminal or discolored terminal connections. 1) Repair or replace. 2) Replace. 3) Replace. POSSIBLE CAUSE 1) Drain hose open. 2) Defective vacuum hose 3) Vacuum disconnected 4) Vacuum hose plugged SOLUTION 1) Close drain hose. Recovery lid must be closed. 2) Repair or replace hose. Kinks in vacuum hose. 3) Open machine, connect vacuum hose to recovery tank. 4) Clear hose of blockage by shaking the hose while vacuum is on. If this doesn t work, disconnct the vacuum hose and place the wand end of the hose into the vacuum inlet while the vacuum is running (pulling air through the hose in the opposite direction). Not enough vacuum power at the machine. 1) Damaged recover tank lid 2) Lint clogging ball-type shutoff screen 3) Vacuum hose connection between stand pipe and vacuum motor 4) Vacuum motor exhaust blocked 5) Cords not plugged into separate circuits 1) Replace 2) Remove screen, clean out fibres & accumulated dirt 3) Check for leaks around clamps and cuffs (tighten). Replace damaged hose(s) 4) Check air flow by removing hose and feel the exhaust under the machine. Remove obstruction. 5) Relocated one cord to a different room 18

WINTERIZING PROCEDURE & TROUBLESHOOTING ANIVAC VACUUM SYSTEM PROBLEM Premature closing of ball type shutoff. Ball type shutoff failing to release after recovery tank is drained. POSSIBLE CAUSE 1) Dirty or clogged shutoff filter screen 2) Ball coated with detergent or other foreign material. 3) Screen slightly out of round. SOLUTION 1) Remove and clean screen 2) Remove and rinse ball with clean water 3) Bend screen, squeezing slightly by hand until there is an obvious space between ball and inside of screen. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM Foam/dirty solution coming out of vacuum exhaust port. POSSIBLE CAUSE 1) Foam from waste tank bypassing water shutoff inside recovery tank. 2) Elbow in vacuum tank is not positioned correctly SOLUTION 1) Use additional defoamer. 2) The elbow should be pointed directly at the side wall of the tank away from the ball type shutoff. SOLUTION SYSTEM PROBLEM Pump motor on no spray through jets POSSIBLE CAUSE 1) Clogged or faulty solution control valve. 2) Clogged or faulty quick disconnect on housing. 3) Punctured pump diaphragm. 4) Clogged jets. SOLUTION 1) Check intake on valve and remove lint or other foreign material 2) Disconnect the solution line connection from the machine (at the coupler). Take a small screwdriver and while the pump is on press in on the small pin you can see on the INSIDE of the coupler (middle). If water does not shoot forcefully out (watch your face) then the coupler may be clogged. Run a solution of one part vinegar to three parts water through the machine and let sit for an hour, then test again while quickly pushing in and releasing the small plunger inside the coupler. This should loosen up the deposits and free up the flow. Repeat the vinegar rinse if necessary. Once done, ensure you lubricate the quick disconnect with a light oil by pulling back on the outer sleeve and applying the oil to the exposed ball bearings. The release the sleeve and rotate it several times to distribute the oil. 3) Replace with diaphragm repair kit. 4) Clean jets on wand or tool. Clogged trigger valve 1) Hard water deposits clogging valve. 1) Run a solution of one part vinegar to three parts water through the machine and let sit for an hour. Repeat if necessary. If this will not release the clog, the valve must be replaced. Pump motor not working 1) Defective pump pressure switch. 2) Motor burnout 1) Replace with new pressure switch assembly 2) Replace pump motor Pump pressure low 1) Clogged screens on strainer 2) Punctured pump diaphragm 3) Defective rectifier or motor. 4) Pump not primed 1) Unscrew strainer in solution tank, remove lint and any other foreign material from screen. 2) Replace with diaphragm repair kit. 3) Replace 4) Plug priming hose into solution connection and place end in solution tank. 25 ECOWASH ANIMAL BATHING & VACUUM SYSTEM ANIVAC Congratulations on the purchase of your ANIVAC EcoWash system. You are now equipped with the finest in bathing and cleaning systems available today. With good maintenance, this machine will provide you with many years of reliable service. Main features of the ANIVAC EcoWash system: Skin deep cleaning Easily portable With only common sense precautions, safe winter bathing is possible Drastic reduction in water usage Virtually eliminates the mess associated with traditional bathing methods Reduces the need for traditional grooming Reduces the occurance of fungal and other skin infections from forming The person doing the bathing stays dry! IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WARNING To avoid electric shock always use a grounded electrical outlet. DO NOT expose to rain store indoors. These precautions are designed with the safety of the operator, the equipment, and others in mind and must be followed at all times to avoid serious personal harm and/or death, and damage to the unit. 1) ALWAYS disconnect electric cable from electrical outlet before attempting to make any adjustments or repairs. 2) DO NOT allow unit to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used around or near children. 3) Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer s recommended attachments. 4) DO NOT use with damaged cord or plug. If unit is not working properly because it has been dropped, or damaged please contact Anivac or a local service technician. 5) DO NOT handle plug or appliance with wet hands. 6) NEVER lift the machine by the drain hose. 7) DO NOT use with any opening blocked. Keep free of dust lint, hair or anything else that may block air flow. 8) DO NOT pick up anything that is smoking or burning such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes. 9) DO NOT use to pick up hazardous chemicals, flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline or use in areas where they may be present. 10) DO NOT use where oxygen or anesthetics are used. 11) Do not operate in rain, wet conditions or standing water. Do not allow the unit to freeze! 12) Turn unit off immediately if foam or liquid comes from machine exhaust. Empty and clean out recovery (dirty water) tank. If this occurs you may have very soft water. To alleviate reduce the shampoo mixture until the foaming is eliminated or add a de-foaming agent to correct the problem. 13) DO NOT use citrus-based (D-Limonene) cleaners in this machine as they will erode the plastic housing. 14) Replace damaged or worn parts immediately with genuine original equipment parts to maintain safety and ensure the longevity of your machine. 15) This unit must be connected to a properly grounded outlet only. DANGER: Improper connection of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shock. GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS This machine must be properly grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electrical current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This machine is equipped with a pigtail cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. WARNING Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. DO NOT modify the plugs provided if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. 23

ANIVAC ECOWASH ANIMAL BATHING & VACUUM SYSTEM OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Follow these easy step by step instructions to ensure proper operating performance. 1) Remove the lid of the system and fill the fresh water tank with warm water and shampoo. Replace the lid. 2) Fill the defoamer tank located in the lid with Anivac Defoaming solution. 3) Plug the power cord into a suitably sized and grounded electrical outlet. 4) Attach the hose and wand assembly to the unit. 5) The on/off switches are located on the rear portion of the cover. These can be used independently depending on the cleaning task at hand. When bathing animals both are used. The vacuum motor can be used by itself when using the system for dry vacuuming. 6) Due to the fact that the wands patented design places the water directly onto the skin of the animal (instead of onto the top of the hair as a water hose does) the use of cold water can be very shocking to the animal. Due to this please do not attempt to clean your animal with only cold water. Ensuring that only warm water is used will ensure the comfort of the animal. It is important to always check the temperature of the water coming out of the wand prior to using it on your animal. 7) When the waste tank is full, empty it by taking the removable bucket to a suitable place for dumping the dirty water. Do not use the same pail to fill the solution tank as this can result in putting dirt into the solution line that can plug the filters and/or nozzles, and generally degrade the solution line system. 24

2) Lubricate brass quick disconnects with a quality lubricant such as WD-40. 3) Flush solution systems regularly with a white vinegar solution of one cup vinegar to three cups of water. This will counter act hard water and alkaline deposits and will aid in keeping the spray nozzles clean. 4) Do not allow fluid to remain in the fresh or waste water tanks for long periods of time. Keeping your system clean will add to its lifetime. 5) Clean the filter behind the waste water bin and the nozzles of the wand assemblies after each use. The nozzles have been designed so that a paper clip can be used to clear the openings. 6) Do not use the same receptacle (pail) to fill the solution tank that was used to remove waste water from the vacuum tank. 7) When the unit is not in use, leave the vacuum tank lid open. Storage of equipment 1) Store machine indoors in a warm, dry area. If stored in freezing temperatures you MUST winterize the system per the following directions or UNWARRANTIED SYS- TEM DAMAGE WILL RESULT! 2) Recovery and solution tank should be empty and clean when the extractor is not in use. DO NOT USE AUTOMOTIVE ANTIFREEZE!! 25
