2 INTRODUCTION The Aqavive Water Changer conditions, monitors and replenishes your aquarium with the push of a button. Water Changes are a problem. It is a chore for Hobbyists and if not done regularly and correctly, the aquarium habitants can be harmed. The Aqavive Water Changer is an innovative patent pending electronic device which provides a solution to the problem of aquarium water changes. The Aqavive Water Changer is located between the domestic water supply and the aquarium. 5 REPLENISHING WATER Set up options OPTION A Position the Aqavive Water Changer next to the aquarium. Hose and connections are provided to allow the transfer of domestic supply water to the Aqavive Water Changer. OPTION B Position the Aqavive Water Changer in a convenient wet area in the apartment/ house. Simply transfer the water directly to the aquarium after conditioning. Water replenishing function fill the container with domestic water. REPLENISHING WATER Water replenishing function fill the container in a wet area and pump the treated water to the aquarium. Hose connectors and a tap/faucet connector are supplied to provide flexibility for the Hobbyist. Empty containers are easier to move. Use the Aqavive Water Changer to transfer the water to the container or aquarium. 5

6 REPLENISHING WATER Step by step instructions STEP 1 STEP Connect water extraction hose. Attach the water intake hose with the primer button on one end to the snap on connection on the bottom of the Water Changer. Position valve. Place the end of the valve in its holder at the side of the Water Changer. Ensure that the valve situated on the end of the intake hose is placed into its holding slot at the side of the Water Changer. STEP x Screw on snap fit adapter 2 1 x Snap fit hose fitting 3 1 x Length of hose dependent on the depth of container (500mm*) 4 1 x Foot valve/primer button * Recommended lengths but user can select appropriate lengths of hose for their needs. 6 Place the Aqavive Water Changer on the inside rim of a separate fish safe container. You choose the container to best suit your needs. Use the clamp (a) to secure the Water Changer. Choose the appropriate screw hole to ensure the Water Changer is secure. Connect the Water Changer to a power point and turn it on. a

Fill the container with water to the level required on the Water Changer. STEP 6 Check water temperature.

Fill the container with water to the level required on the Water Changer. STEP 6 Check water temperature. Check the temperature on the electronic display of the water flowing through the water changer. Chemical additives can be safely added and thoroughly mixed. Monitor & Adjust temperature. Add warm/cold water as required or attach an aquarium heater to the bracket (a) on the side of the Aqavive Water Changer to achieve the correct water temperature to match the aquarium. STEP Connect the Water Changer to the aquarium. Connect the hose to water outlet/fill on the top of the Water Changer. Gently depress with your finger the button valve facing upward on the end of the intake hose (a) as it is sitting in the slot on the water changer. This valve should be below the water line. This allows the air in the hose to be released as the hose fills with water and primes the pump. STEP 12 Disconnect hose from holding slot on side of the Water Changer Once the hose is full of water release your finger and remove the valve from its holder and allow the hose to drop to the bottom of the container. REPLENISHING WATER b a Set the water flow speed. Press the fill button on the electronic panel (a). Adjust the water flow speed if appropriate. When the water has been transferred to the aquarium press the off button (b) on the electronic panel. 9

11 EXTRACTING WATER Set up options When extracting water through the gravel vacuum function, it is best to position the Aqavive Water Changer and container close to the aquarium. The container it is positioned on minimises any spillage and allows the gravel vacuum to be placed in the container when finishing the extraction of water. OPTION A Attach the long hose to the water outlet positioned on top of the Aqavive Water Changer to transfer the water directly to the garden or down a nearby drain. The benefit of still using the container, is that it allows for any residual water to be caught in the container. Gravel Vacuum function pump the aquarium water outside/ to a drain OPTION B Loop the connection from the water outlet to the water inlet to allow the extracted water to safely flow into the container. Place the end of the hose in the container or connect the other end of the hose to the intake connection to allow the extracted water to safely flow into the container (b). Gravel Vacuum water extraction. Return flow from water extraction outlet to water inlet. STEP x Snap fit hose fitting 2 Length of hose 300mm Prime the gravel vac. Prime the device pump*/ fill the gravel vacuum with water as usual. Once the hose is full of water press the Fill/Extra button on the electronic display. * Priming the pump means removing all the entrapped air from the suction line and the pump.
