5 features and highlights 4 5 CLEANING PYROLUXE CLEANING Cleans the oven by heating up to 500 o C and burning off the most stubborn cooking residues, leaving only ash residue to simply wipe away with a damp cloth when the oven has cooled. The door locks for safety at 300 o C and with the quadruple glazed door reducing surface temperatures, the oven door is safe to touch even at 500 o C. Pyroluxe keeps your oven hygienically clean without using chemicals and costs less to operate than most household oven cleaners. STEAM CLEANING In contrast to the Pyrolytic cleaning process, steam cleaning allows you to clean your oven at lower temperatures for shorter periods using moisture. The steam clean action gently releases grease and grime from the interior oven walls which can be simply wiped out with a damp cloth or paper towel upon completion of the process. CATALYTIC CLEANING The Heat Activated Catalytic Cleaning liners absorb the grease from cooking and with regular heating to 220 o C the grease residue is brought to the surface and is continuously cleaned. DIAMOND GLAZED ENAMEL INTERIOR Ultra smooth enamel interior for ease of cleaning: cooking residues can be easily wiped away immediately after cooking. FULL GLASS INNER DOOR WITH REMOVABLE PANES Some AEG single and double ovens have removable glass panes making cleaning easy. All ovens feature full glass inner doors with no dirt traps. FOLD DOWN GRILL Grill element folds down to enable oven roof to be cleaned easily. How does the Steam Clean feature work? The enamel in the AEG ovens and ranges which include the Steam Clean feature is manufactured by Ferro, the world s leading manufacturer of enamel coatings. The steam clean process involves moisture infusing behind the grease particles in the oven which causes easy release of the grease from the enamel, and can then be simply wiped out. This is an excellent way of protecting the environment and your pocket book as the oven never heats above 90 o C in this process and it takes less than 45 minutes to complete. - no odours are generated - no caustic chemicals are used - oven door does not lock in place as in a pyrolytic system, consequently a cooking program can be selected instead of the steam clean - the oven can be switched to the cooking mode COOKING ACCESSORIES GRILL / MEAT PAN All ovens are supplied with a full width Grill/Meat pan, for larger cuts of meat. Pan can easily be fi tted onto telescopic shelf runners or slid into side rack positions. PIZZA STONE For authentic stone baked pizzas (applies to B8139 only). BAKING SHEET Full width for maximum cooking space. TELESCOPIC SHELF RUNNERS Additional accessory which enables baking shelves and wire racks to be pulled out fully. TEMPERATURE PROBE (B8139 ONLY) The electronic meat probe takes the guesswork out of cooking and provides perfect results every time. Once the meat is cooked, and the selected internal temperature has been reached the oven will automatically switch off. ROTISSERIE (B5742 ONLY) The rotary spit, with support, fi ts securely in a diagonal position in the oven and is ideal for roasting larger joints of meat and poultry. SAFETY ISOFRONT & ISOFRONT PLUS The oven doors are either triple or quadruple glazed these multilayered glass panes with a heat refl ective coating keep the heat in the oven and the outer door cooler. AUTO SAFETY SWITCH OFF For peace of mind, the ovens automatically switch off when they are left on for too long (time and temperature dependant). CHILD LOCK (B5742 ONLY) Oven controls can be locked to prevent misuse. Steam Clean is the Green Clean of the future!

6 oven functions and features VENTITHERM Using this genuine convection mode the fan gently circulates hot air throughout the oven to give an even temperature. Ventitherm ensures no transfer of fl avours so you can cook sweet and savoury dishes together on up to 3 levels. It is also a very economical and time-effi cient cooking system, as it does not require preheating for most dishes thus making it the most commonly used setting. VENTITHERM PRECISION allows a greater range of cooking temperatures from 30 o C to 300 o C, ideal for proofi ng bread to browning crème brulées. Cooking times are typically reduced by 10 minutes in every hour using VENTITHERM Precision, and it does not require preheating. In addition, the temperature setting can be lowered by 10%, reducing energy consumption. FAN CONTROLLED DEFROSTING Suitable for delicate items such as cheese cakes, this light defrost circulates room temperature air around the food slowly, defrosting it hygienically in less than half the time. HOT AIR FAN BAKING With this North American style convection, the base element and the fan work together to provide the perfect environment for baking. DUAL CIRCUIT VARIABLE GRILL This setting uses the inner and outer part of the grill element, to provide full width even grilling, ideal for large portions. VARIABLE ECONOMY GRILL Uses only the inner part of the grill element, ideal for smaller portions such as 4 slices of toast. The heat is controllable, and using one element, saves energy. ROTITHERM ROASTING Heat is directed from the top element to the surface of the food while the fan circulates heat around the oven. This clever setting gives the perfect authentic spit roast effect for meat, poultry and roasting potatoes; all the benefi ts of a rotisserie without the mess. CONVENTIONAL COOKING The top and bottom elements provide traditional cooking with zoned heat. Ideal for baking bread and cakes, as the oven becomes hotter at the top. RADIANT HEAT CONVECTION Using the top and bottom heat in conjunction with the fan, the radiant heat is distributed throughout the oven evenly. This speeds up the browning process compared to foods cooked with a conventional baking mode. PIZZA SETTING The base element crisps the pizza base, leaving the topping perfectly cooked. This feature is also ideal for quiches and fl ans. This setting is applicable to the B8139 oven only. VIGOROUS STEAM The steam generator works with a fi xed temperature at 96 o C, to deliver a constant fl ow of steam. Ideal for vegetables, rice and fi sh, it ensures that all the vitamins and nutrients are retained. INTERVAL STEAM This unique feature alternates steam and fan cooking with 25% steam and 75% hot air. Food is crisp on the outside and moist and succulent on the inside, so it looks and tastes better. Ideal for roasting, baking and complete meal cooking. PIZZA MODE This combination uses the Ventitherm mode where the fan circulates hot air through the oven in combination with the base element. This uniform, powerful heat setting gives you perfectly crisp pizza crusts. BASE HEAT FINISHING Heat from the bottom element only, ideal for reheating pies and pastries as it keeps the pastry crisp.
