3 Using The Living Well Pressure Cooker More COOK mode tips THE COOK MODE 4. The COOK time and PRESSURE (kpa) can be changed to accommodate any recipe. NOTE: If a recipe calls for adjustment of both COOK time and PRESSURE always adjust the PRESSURE First. To Add Or Decrease Pressure Press PRESSURE ADJUST button (Fig.H) to set PRESSURE higher than default setting. PRESSURE LID INNER POT Place Inner Pot into the Unit Base. Add ingredients as per your recipe. Never load Inner Pot above the MAX line. Rotate the Inner Pot to make certain that it is seated properly. Place Cooker Lid on Cooker with Lid Handle and Pressure Valve pointed to the 0 o clock position (fig. A). Rotate Lid counterclockwise until you feel a click and the symbols on the Lid and Support Ring are properly aligned (fig. B). IMPORTANT: Slide the Pressure Release Control Button located on top of the Lid Handle to the Valve Close position (Fig.C). Attach AC Cord to base unit (Fig.D) and plug other end into the wall outlet (Fig.E). Before handling the AC Cord, dry hands thoroughly if you have been preparing wet foods or liquids. UNIT BASE Lid Open Lid Close For a pressure setting less than Default For the COOK mode (40kPa), Press and Hold PRESSURE ADJUST Button (Fig.I). Pressure will increase to the highest setting (80kPa) and then return to the lowest setting (0kPa). To Add COOK time Press COOK TIME Button (Fig.J) to select a time greater than the default setting. Fig. L Fig. K For Less COOK time Press and hold COOK TIME Button (Fig.F) until it reaches 90 minutes and then it will reset to 0 minutes (Fig.G). Fig. K 5. Delay Time Feature You may select a future time for Cooking from 4 to hours by pressing the DELAY TIME Button (Fig.K). Fig. F Push the COOK Button on the Control Panel (Fig.F). The LED will change to the COOK mode default setting, 5 minutes COOK time with a pressure setting of 40 kpa (Fig.G). The LED screen will change color from GREEN to RED. Fig. G 6. The Complete COOK Cycle - Once the Default or Preset Pressure is reached, the COOK time will countdown. When COOK time reaches 0 the unit will automatically go to Keep Warm (Fig.L). 4 Using The Living Well Pressure Cooker THE SLOW COOK MODE (No Pressure) More SLOW COOK mode tips 4. The SLOW COOK time can be changed to accommodate any recipe. To Add SLOW COOK time Press COOK TIME Button (Fig.E) to select a time greater than the default setting. Fig. F Fig.G GLASS LID INNER POT UNIT BASE Place Inner Pot into the Unit Base. Add ingredients as per your recipe. Never load Inner Pot above the MAX line. Rotate the Inner Pot to make certain that it is seated properly. Place Glass Lid on Cooker. For Less SLOW COOK Time Press and hold COOK TIME Button (Fig.F). It will reach the 0 Hour maximum setting, then change to the hour minimum setting (Fig.G). Attach AC Cord to base unit (Fig.A) and plug other end into the wall outlet (Fig.B). Before handling the AC Cord, dry hands thoroughly if you have been preparing wet foods or liquids. 5. Delay Time Feature You may select a future time for Slow Cooking from 4 to hours by pressing the DELAY TIME Button (Fig.H). Push the SLOW COOK Button on the Control Panel (Fig.C). The LED will change to the SLOW COOK mode default setting, 6 Hours COOK time (Fig.D). The LED screen will change color from GREEN to RED. 6. The Complete SLOW COOK Cycle - Once the Default or Preset cooking temperature is reached, the COOK time will countdown. When COOK Time reaches 0 the unit will automatically go to Keep Warm (Fig.!). INNER POT IMPORTANT: Slide the Pressure Release Control Button located on top of the Lid Handle to the Valve Close position (Fig.C). 4. Pressure will return to the lowest setting for the STEW mode (40kPa) (Fig.I). If you need to use a Pressure setting less than 40kPa, you should switch to the PRESSURE ADJUST mode and follow directions to Increase or Decrease Time and Pressure. To Add COOK Time Press COOK TIME Button (Fig.J) to select a time greater than the default setting. For Less COOK Time Press and hold COOK TIME Button (Fig.K) until it reaches 90 minutes and then it will reset to 0 minutes (Fig.L). Fig. K Fig. L Fig. M 5. Never load Inner Pot above the MAX line. Rotate the Inner Pot to make certain that it is seated properly. Place Glass Lid on Cooker. For Less STEAM time Press and hold COOK TIME Button (Fig.F) until it reaches 90 minutes and then it will reset to 0 minutes (Fig.G). Attach AC Cord to base unit (Fig.A) and plug other end into the wall outlet (Fig.B). Before handling the AC Cord, dry hands thoroughly if you have been preparing wet foods or liquids. 5. To Add CANNING time Press COOK TIME button (Fig.E) to select a time greater than the default setting. Canning Jars & Lids Not Included GLASS LID RACK & JARS INNER POT UNIT BASE Place Rack into Inner Pot then place Prepared Jars on Rack. Place Inner Pot into the Unit Base. Use only jars and lids made specifically for canning. Rotate the Inner Pot to make certain that it is seated properly. Place Glass Lid on Cooker. For Less CANNING time Press and hold COOK TIME Button (Fig.F) until it reaches 90 minutes and then it will reset to 0 minutes (Fig.G). 10 Using The Living Well Pressure Cooker THE PRESSURE ADJUST MODE (Custom Settings) This mode is the easiest way to select Pressure and Time settings that are less or greater than the preset defaults. For example, you may select a kpa setting from 0kPa to 80kPa and a time setting from minute to 90 minutes. (As Per Recipe) Cake Pan not available with all models PRESSURE LID CAKE PAN, STEAM TRAY INNER POT UNIT BASE OR RACK Place applicable accessory(ies) into Inner Pot. Place Inner Pot into the Unit Base. Rotate the Inner Pot to make certain that it is seated properly. Place Cooker Lid on Cooker with Lid Handle and Pressure Valve pointed to the 0 o clock position (fig. A). Rotate Lid counter clockwise until you feel a click and the symbols on the Lid and Support Ring are properly aligned (fig. B). Lid Open Lid Close IMPORTANT: Slide the Pressure Release Control Button located on top of the Lid Handle to the Valve Close position (Fig.C). 7 Attach AC Cord to base unit (Fig.D) and plug other end into the wall outlet (Fig.E). Before handling the AC Cord, dry hands thoroughly if you have been preparing wet foods or liquids. Push the PRESSURE ADJUST Button on the Control Panel (Fig.F). The LED will change to 5 minutes COOK time with a pressure setting of 40 kpa. Continue holding the PRESSURE ADJUST Button until the desired kpa setting is reached (0kPa - 80kPa). Select the COOK TIME Button (Fig.G), the time will start from 5 minutes, run up to 90 minutes, then begin again at minute. Select desired time. Once the Preset Pressure is reached, the COOK time will countdown. When COOK time reaches 0 the unit will automatically go to Keep Warm. It will stay WARM until you select CANCEL.
