7 BTG AIR FLOW AND UNIT PLACEMENT NO AIR FLOW CLEAR FLOW AIR FLOW BLOCKED CORRECT AIR FLOW Internal Air Flow Requirements CORRECT AIRFLOW for both hot and cold units INCORRECT AIR FLOW too much chilled air around coil can create excessive ice build up INCORRECT AIRFLOW for both hot and cold units. Heat from other equipment and natural conditions such as direct sunlight on any units can cause cooling to fail and over work the motor Avoid Radiant and Convective Heat Sources Be aware of potential problems by placing units in adverse ambient conditions. Locations to be avoided are: Vents are not blocked at base and ensure trays or plates are not blocking airflow at the rear of the unit Blocked airflow disturbs correct air movement and creates uneven temperatures inside unit Ensure bottom vents are not blocked by plates or product Blocked air flow will retard operation on both HOT and COLD unit - Close to shop front exterior - In an outside location - In direct sunlight - In a high cross wind area - Near any source producing excessive heat Increase service intervals for units in dusty or polluted areas 29/4/16 R2_1 7 of 17

8 BTG GLASS TOWER SERIES REAR VENTILATION BTG Rear Ventilation System The Cossiga BTG range provides a rear intake and extract ventilation system by using a unique side mounted compressor design to provide the ability of the refrigerated units to be placed in more versatile situations. 9 BTGRF GLASS TOWER SERIES SERVICES INFORMATION REFRIGERATED UNITS - Drainage to waste All chilled units are fitted with an electrical evaporator pan which evaporates condensate water from the evaporator coil. These evaporator units use power and require maintenance. When doing a new build, refurbishing your premises or have a waste drain close to hand, Cossiga recoend plumbing the condensate waste pipe directly to the building drainage system. The powered rear vent box forces airflow up and away from the ambient air intake. Can also be used when the units are placed next to each other to avoid cross air circulation.
