OWNER S INSTRUCTION & INFORMATION Please read before first use. Remove all foam and bubble wrap packing material from the press machine. Please rinse stainless steel trays. Boil juice cloths in water and rinse well before first use! Place juice press machine on a sturdy, level table or countertop. Legs of machine can be clamped or bolted to table for permanent installation. Be sure to support the top of the press by one hand while pressing. Do not open hydraulic jack release valve more than one turn when lowering the bottom food tray. Never place hands or fingers in the trays while pressing. Never extend the actuating lever. Only use the lever supplied with the hydraulic jack. Close hydraulic jack s valve and remove lever from jack when machine is not in use. NOTE: During shipping, box/press machine may travel on its side or upside-down. It is possible that air bubbles form internally in the hydraulic fluid and unwanted air may get in the hydraulic system. To purge air from hydraulic system: Open valve at the bottom of the jack ½ turn and pump the lever 10 times to purge the air out. If the operation of the press/hydraulic jack feels spongy, repeat the above-mentioned air purging procedure with the oil filler plug removed. The oil filler plug is located on the side or back side of the jack s body. It is a ½ inch rubber plug. The oil filler is NOT the red plug. Gently remove the rubber plug with a blunt-tip item such as handle of teaspoon. Open the valve ½ turn and pump the handle 6-8 full strokes. Reinstall plug. Cleaning and Care: -Wipe upper tray with a wet cloth or paper towel after each use. -To clean lower tray, use standard dish washing detergent. Never use harsh detergent or steel-wool. - Chlorine solution can be used to sanitize stainless trays, two teaspoon/gallon of water. -Juice cloths: after use, place in zip lock bag and store it in the freezer to prevent bacterial growth. -Juice Cloth can/will absorb color from fruits over time. It is normal. -Boil juice cloths in water for about 5 minutes every 1-2 weeks to clean and sanitize it. -To clean the press machine s frame simply wipe it with wet towel or use mild dish/hand soap if needed. -Upper tray is not removable. After use, clean it with wet towel or paper towel. Reliability: The Juice Press is sturdily constructed for lifetime of service. It s equipped with a 2 Ton/4000 pound rated hydraulic unit that compress and extracts pulp-free juices quickly and easily. Only the hydraulic jack has moving parts. Over time this pump can wear out and should be replaced. Replacement hydraulic unit is available for $38. Replacement jack must have the same tonnage rating (2 Tons). Press should only be used to compress fruit and vegetable pulp as outlined in this instruction. Return policy: No refund after 30 days of delivery. Refund is subject to a minimum 15% restocking fee, depending on condition it is received. Juice press machine must be in new /re-sellable condition. Shipping cost is not refundable. Warranty: 1-year limited warranty. (See page 2) Should you have questions please contact us: Disclaimer: Please exercise caution when operating this hydraulic press machine. Keep out of reach of children. Keep machine clean and visually inspect it for any damage prior to each use. The juice press machine was primarily designed for Gerson patients; Gerson Institute s guidelines should be followed for juice recipes and food preparation.
Warranty information: The Juice Press Factory hydraulic press is warranted by the Juice Press Factory only to the original consumer or other person for whom the original consumer purchased it as a gift, to be free from defects in material or workmanship under normal use for a period of one year from the date of its original consumer purchase (date of purchase). If there should be a defect covered by this warranty within the warranty period, Juice Press Factory will at its election either repair or replace the presser or defective part, free of charge, provided it is properly packaged and delivered to the Juice Press Factory. Within the continental United States only, the freight will be paid by Juice Press Factory for up to one year from the date of purchase. Method of freight will be at the discretion of the Juice Press Factory. This warranty does not cover loss or damage due to abuse, mishandling, alteration, accident, failure to follow operating instructions, or damage caused by parts or service not authorized by the Juice Press Factory. Juice Press Factory will not be liable for commercial consequential or incidental damages. Since some states do not allow this limitation, it may not apply to you. Any part damaged by a cause not within the coverage of this warranty, may be purchased from the Juice Press Factory at the current list price plus freight. In case of damage during shipment of your new juice presser, do NOT send the juicer back to Juice Press Factory. Immediately report such damage to the delivering carrier and have the carrier fill out an inspection report. This warranty provides specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
Hydraulic press operating instructions Important! This press machine was designed to be used in conjunction with a fruit/vegetable grinder. Fruits and vegetables must be ground into paste consistency before placing in the press machine. If a Champion grinder is used, block bottom opening with champion supplied blank cover or use our new homogenizing nozzle This step is important! The Champion must be used as a grinder, by simply blocking the bottom port with a blank (see picture). Juice should stay with the pulp during the grinding process. This allows the pulp /juice to remain cooler and more fluid, less friction/heat. 1. Place juice cloth on a suitable tray. An oval shaped tray that fits under the Champion s hub works great. Grind fruits and vegetables onto the juice cloth. Note: Some juice may leak pass the blank/cover. It is normal. Use a larger tray to catch the juice (see picture), or use the new one-piece homogenizing nozzle, this nozzle cannot leak. 2. Fold sides of juice cloth tightly to enclose the paste. Make it slightly smaller than the press machine s lower tray. Leave 1/4" gap between sidewalls to allow juice to flow to drain-port. Extra cloth laying in the tray will reabsorb juices, trim juice cloth to your personalized size. Placement of the press machine on a table is important. It should not be on a countertop if it places the pump's lever too high. It will make it difficult to use. Hydraulic pump's lever should be at or just above a person's hip height.
3. Place folded cloth in the center of the lower tray. Make sure drain port is not blocked. 4. Place lower tray on the top of the lower press plate (on top of the jack). Note: Clear vinyl extension tube attached to the lower stainless tray can be turned in any direction to channel juice into a container or cup/glass. Turn the tube inward if the cup/glass is placed front of the presser. Turn the tube fully to the left if a cup is placed on the left side of the press. 5. Use larger end of supplied white lever to close hydraulic jack s release valve (located at the bottom of jack) by turning the valve clockwise or to the right. Hand tighten only. 6. Place round larger end of the white lever into the actuating arm, start operating hydraulic jack by moving the lever in up-down motion several times. Keep hand and fingers out of the tray. -SUPPORT top of the press frame with one hand to prevent it from tipping. 7. Once upper and lower trays are fully compressed, allow it to stand compressed for a minute or two. This will allow all the juice to be squeezed out. After leaving the pulp compressed for a minute, you should be able to push the handle one more time. It is ok to push hard on the lever. 8.After the juice stops draining, slowly open the release valve (located at the bottom of the jack) counter clockwise or left (no more than 1 turn). - For best result, the already compressed pulp could be re-folded to smaller size and pressed again. Note: Juice cloths are slightly oversized for average use. Juice cloth can be trimmed to size to accommodate juicing loads. Start out with a smaller load, until you are familiar with the juicer s operation. Please call us if you need additional cloths.
Regular maintenance of the hydraulic pump. A hydraulic pump/jack is a simple device and does not require much maintenance. Periodic purge of trapped air from the cylinder reservoir should be performed about once/month This can be performed in two ways: 1) Simple purge of air from within the hydraulic system: Open valve at the bottom of the jack about 1 full turn, move the pump's actuating arm with lever up and down about 6-8 times, full strokes -up and down. 2) Removing trapped air from the cylinder's reservoir: Please do not remove the RED cap or adjust the screw under it. The oil filler plug is a small ½ inch rubber plug located on the left side of the jack s body. With the oil filler plug removed, perform same step outlined in step 1 above. Gently remove the rubber plug with a blunt tipped item such as handle of teaspoon or tip of a fork. Open the valve 1 full turn and pump the handle 6-8 full strokes. Reinstall plug. Have paper towel nearby in case some hydraulic fluid may leak out The hydraulic pump has two separate internal circuits: Pressurized circuit - this does the work or lifting of the cylinder. This is the internal part of the pump. Non-pressurized -reservoir circuit. This is a closed circuit but not pressurized. This is the outside larger tall cylinder that holds hydraulic fluid used for the operation of the pump/jack. Telltale signs of air trapped inside the hydraulic system. * When using the juicer/press, the lever feels mushy or spongy. * Hydraulic fluid is leaking out from the valve at the bottom of the pump/jack. The pump's reservoir that holds the fluid internally should not be pressurized. If air pressure builds inside the reservoir, it will build slight internal pressure in the reservoir and will want to push the hydraulic fluid out. The easiest is through the bottom valve. Should you need to add hydraulic fluid, it is available at Walmart small bottle cost less than $2.
Initial set-up Please remove and discard all packing foam and bubble wrap. To assemble hydraulic jack s lever align the two lever pieces as shown in the picture and snap together. Operation of hydraulic pump: Use large end of lever (with cutout tab) to open or close the release valve located at the bottom of the jack. To lower the tray: Turn lever counterclockwise (no more than 1 full turn). The tray will lower on its own, pulled down by springs. To raise lower tray: 1) Close the valve at the bottom of the jack (turn clockwise) until it stops. 2) Fully insert large end of lever into actuating arm. 3) Move the lever up and down several times until the trays are compressed. During normal juicing operation: only use the supplied white lever, Lightly hand tighten the release valve; never use a wrench. Never extend the lever. Please read important information (on page 2) about purging air out of the hydraulic system.
OWNER S INSTRUCTION & INFORMATION CLEANING PROCEDURE WHEN PRESS MACHINE IS USED IN A COMMERCIAL ENVIRONMENT. -All parts of the hydraulic press should be cleaned and disinfected after each use. If the press machine has been unused for extended time, please follow the cleaning procedure prior to use. Cleaning the frame of the press machine: Use damp/ not wet towel to wipe surfaces clean. Do not use bleach solution on the frame. Use mild soap solution. Cleaning stainless steel food trays. The food trays need to be cleaned, sanitized, dried and properly stored after each use. Trays can be cleaned in the dish washer with other household cooking pans. High water temperature and soap solution will safely remove leftover or even dried on juice material. Trays can also be hand washed with mild dish soap solution. Bleach solution - two teaspoon /gallon of water- can be used to sanitize and disinfect stainless food trays. If juice was allowed to dry on tray's surface, it can be removed by the following method: Wet a paper or fabric towel with water, place on the affected area and let towel soak the area for a couple of minutes. Stain should wipe away after it is soaked. Mild paste can mixed - baking soda and water mixed into a toothpaste consistency. Use towel or fabric to scrub affected area. Never use steel wool. Cleaning vinyl tubing. Food grade vinyl extension tubing is included with your press machine. It can be substituted with stainless tubing if needed. Rinse tubing after each use. Do not clean it in the dishwasher. Use food grade hydrogen peroxide or vinegar to sanitize vinyl tubing. Cleaning the juice cloths. Juice cloths must be washed and boiled prior to first use. Place in ziplock bag and store in freezer. Juice cloths must be store in below freezing when not in use to prevent bacterial growth. After each use, rinse juice cloth with water and wring it out by hand and place in zip lock bag and store it in the freezer Cloth can/will absorb color from fruits over time; it is normal. -Boil juice cloths in water for minimum 2 minutes every 1-2 week to sanitize. In commercial use boil cloths at the end of the day and prior to storing.
