RECEIVING THE EQUIPMENT The spa should reach its destination in its original packaging. Packaging total measures is 1530x2500x2390. Once the packaging has been removed, check the spa fully before it is installed and report any anomaly. Do not lift the spa using the filter equipment or the pipes. Do not stand the pool on its edge. Always stand it on its legs. During the installation, check that the interior of the spa is protected by the covering included with the equipment. Electrical installation and pipe connections must be carried out by authorised installers. 2. PREPARING PLACE FOR THE INSTALLATION Broadway Maxi Spa can function indoors and outdoors. It must be installed on a fi rm base to prevent it from sinking. When choosing the location for the spa, a series of requirements must be taken into account: 1. Environment - room: - If you have decided to install the spa indoors, bear in mind the thoroughfares required for transporting it to its fi nal location. - There must be adequate ventilation in closed interior locations. Refer to 7. - Section in this manual. - You must bear in mind the materials used on the wall and ceilings, since the humidity generated by the spa requires steam-resistant materials. - Due to unavoidable splashing, the floor must be highly resistant to water, such as tiles or plastic coverings. If carpets are used, it must be treated to avoid bacteria from damp. Use special sailing carpets or rugs. Parquet or wooden floors are not advisable unless they have been duly treated for this kind of use, such as wood for gardens or outdoor buildings. In any case, make sure that the floor has a gradient of 2% gradient floor outside spa) with leveled floor for the spa towards a drain installed in the room. - This spa has got two versions: - Withouth wooden panels: It will be installed imbedded in the ground fl oor (proper ventilation with fresh air for electrical equipment is needed). Please, refer to fi g. number 1-a to see exact measures to prepare the ground whole. - With wooden panels. It is a not an imbedded version, spa will be installed on the ground. The fl oor must be perfectly levelled.refer to fi g. 1-b 2. Hydraulical matters: - Access to interior components for post-installation maintenance. Refer to fi g You must also bear in mind how you are going to fi ll and empty the pool. The fl oor must be leveled. 3. Electrical matters: - The electrical connection of the equipment must be carried out with a 3 conductor cable with a section of 4 mm 2 and ready for 240 V AC (the nominal power consumed by the standard equipment is equal to 6,5 kw). - An earth connection compliant with current legislation is essential. The electrical installation of the spa must be protected by 10 ma* RCD circuit breaker and a 40 A magnetothermal switch with omnipolar disconnection devices and a distance between contacts of at least 3 mm. Both switches must be situated outside the zones as shown in fi g. 3. * Adjust this value to your geographical current legislation 4

7 3. POSITIONING THE SPA - For appropriate operating conditions, the spa must be positioned on a carefully leveled, fi rm base. - The total weight of the bath with water and seven peoples is about 2800 kg. This weight is supported on 22 points, which are the legs (only aluminium frame version). - Level the spa by adjusting the legs (see fig. 1) - only aluminium frame version. - Position the spa in a way that best enables maintenance. Consider 0,75 m access area around the SPA. 4. ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS The electrical installation must be carried out by an authorized electrician. The internal connections of the equipment have been made at the factory (fi g. 4). The electrical installation of the spa must be protected by 10 ma* RCD circuit breaker and a 40 A magnetothermal switch with omnipolar disconnection devices and a distance between contacts of at least 3 mm. Both switches must be situated outside the zones as shown in fi g EARTH CONNECTION To make the differential work correctly, the home must have an earthed wiring system, compliant with current legislation, as well as an equipotential connection EQUIPOTENTIAL CONNECTION The spa has terminal for a 4 mm 2 section cable which joins all the metal parts of the apparatus electrically and which must be connected to the equipotential connections grid of the home. Specialized installator must follow the current legislation MAIN SITUATION The mains supply cable of the spa must be connected to a fi xed installation. A plug is not acceptable. The electrical installation must be compliant with current legislation governing low voltage. For this, it is important to bear in mind that four protection blocks are established where the spa is to be installed, defined as shown in the following diagram (fig. 3). Where block 3 is appropriate for the mains, or a false ceiling with a height of over 2.25 m MAIN CONNECTIONS - The power supply of the spa must be permanently connected to a fi xed electrical channel. - A cable compliant with the corresponding low voltage standards must be used. Remember that the green and yellow earth wire must have a length at least 40 mm longer than the neutral cables so that in the case of the cables being pulled, it is the last to be disconnected. Always use an IPX5 even not underspa connection. - If the main connections is made below the spa, it must be done by means of a connection system with a protection level of at least IPX5 and it must be located at more than 20 cm from the fl oor. It is very important to make sure that the electrical connections are completely watertight (IPX5 level). fi g.3 2,4 m 2,4 m Zone 1 Zone 1 0,2 m Zone 3 Zone 2 Zone 0 0,6 m 0,6 m Zone 2 Zone 3 2,25 m Zone 3 The space below the spa tank is considered zone 3 as a tool is required to remove the panels. * Adjust this value to your geographical current legislation 7
8 5. HYDRAULIC CONNECTION For the connection, use PVC pipes and appropriate adhesive for this type of material. Do not use metal pipes. Make sure that there are no accumulated bags of air or water in the fi ll or empty connection. The emptying circuit must guarantee perfect emptying and, if the use of the drain so allows, a U-bend to prevent bad smells. Also, where required, the fi ll and empty circuits must also be fi tted with anti-backfl ow devices to prevent retrosuction. Once the installation has ended, start up the equipment and check that the joints are watertight. Mark the water level in the pool, leave it for 24 hours and check that it has not gone down. The following drawing (fi g. 5 ) shows the spa s fi lter circuit and the spa massage circuit. 6. FILLING AND EMPTYING THE SPA The spa can be connected to the water mains pipes, permanently in use, or it can be fi lled and emptied by fl exible pipes that can be removed after use. For your convenience, for both the fi lling and emptying operations, we recommend the installation of taps outside the spa enclosure. This will avoid the need for removing the panels. However, remember that the overfl ow must be permanently open and connected to the drain. 7. VENTILATION The possible high temperature of the water in the spa (approximately 39 0 C) leads to steam condensation. The spa room must have adequate ventilation. If it does not, it is recommended that you install a condenser to keep the air humidity at a constant temperature and prevent steam from condensing on the ceiling and on the fl oor. For the correct maintenance of the wood, the relative air humidity in the room must be kept below 65% when the spa is not being used. During use and due to the evaporation caused by the hydromassage and the movement of the water, this value normally reaches 90 or 95%. The air humidity can be kept constant by the use of fans controlled by hygrostats or dehumidifi ers adapted to the size of the room. Your installer or distributor can offer you advice on this. If the room has air conditioning, the condenser is not necessary. If the spa is outdoors or in an open space, these apparatus are not necessary. 8
