Plates are available in a wide selection of geometries and patterns for different applications. Many of the plates can also be supplied in a choice of materials stainless steel, SMO or titanium. The glueless Clip-On-gaskets can be replaced quickly and easily on site with the plates hanging in the frames. The food grade gaskets can be delivered in a range of materials (NBR, EPDM) for different temperatures and applications. The units are held together by sturdy, pressure graded frames with many smart, hygienic and labor-saving features. All frames offer great flexibility for expanding and rebuilding the plate heat exchangers. The costeffective frame design makes this a very competitive alternative for heating/cooling and small flow rates of pasteurizing duties. Suitable for pressures up to 10 bar (g). TS6-M The TS6-M plate geometry is thermally optimized for steam condensation duties whether for heating water or CIP solution by means of steam. It is available either with stainless steel or epoxy painted frames. BaseLine M-series This proven workhorse offers efficient solutions for general cooling/heating duties in the sanitary industry. It is also perfect for heating and cooling service media. This model is only available with epoxy painted frames. TS6-M M-series Tubular Heat Exchangers Pharma-X The Pharma-X tube in tube heat exchanger has been developed especially to meet the need in the pharmaceutical industry where there is a requirement for a high quality sanitary heat exchanger for point of use cooling with no risk of contamination between the product and the cooling media. There are many areas of application for the Pharma-X heat exchanger including: Point of use cooling on WFI (Water For Injection) ring mains, cooling/heating of pure water in pharmaceutical industry and cooling/heating of distilled water/wfi for processing equipment. 4 Fusion-bonded Plate Heat Exchangers AlfaNova AlfaNova is a completely new type of plate heat exchangers, the world s first PHE made of 100% stainless steel. It is based on Alfa Laval s new revolutionary technology, AlfaFusion, the art of joining stainless steel components together. Typical applications for the AlfaNova heat exchangers are heating of water or CIP solution by means of water or steam. It can also be used in general heating and cooling duties. Fusion-bonded Plate Heat Exchangers Brazed Plate Heat Exchangers These are the perfect heat exchangers for utilities like heating water with steam. The Alfa Laval Brazed Heat Exchangers are extremely compact. This is achieved by high heat transfer coefficients, small hold-up volumes and the use of thin materials. Instead of using gaskets, the stainless steel plates are brazed to a package with copper or nickel as the brazing material. The rectangular and compact shape and front positioned connections make the units easy to fit and install. The thermally efficient design reduces operating costs. All parts of the brazed plate heat exchanger are made in AISI 316 stainless steel, which guarantees a high corrosion resistance. The durable design makes it less vulnerable to vibrations and more resistant to high temperatures and pressures. 5 Food Processing Plates The design of the Clip Plate series is based on many years of practical experience gained from what is really needed in food applications. The result is a well-balanced accommodation of all the demands imposed. A range of plates custom-designed for efficient thermal treatment of liquid food and sensitive products. The excellent press depth and relatively few contact points provide longer operating times without interruptions. The unique distribution pattern assures an even flow over the entire plate. The small ports mean that the plate heat exchanger can be cleaned in place (CIP) with the same flow used in the process itself no need for special pumps or other units. Clip Standard Plate The famous and proven Clip-Plates have a chevron pattern for maximum strength at high working pressure. Different chevron designs are available to obtain optimal heat transfer and low pressure drop. The unique distribution area provides an even flow over the entire plate surface. 14 Single-Seat Valves SRC Sanitary Remote-Controlled Valve Alfa Laval s air-actuated SRC sanitary remote control valve uses the technology upon which we have built our seat valve series. It requires only a few simple moving parts for operation, making it an extremely reliable and hygienic design for stopping or diverting product flow in single or multi-directional systems. The SRC consists of a field reversible actuator, double rubber lip seal, plug and valve bodies. The flat seat design means longer seat life. All components are assembled by means of clamp rings and a stem clip-system. There is no O-ring or O-ring groove, so contaminates cannot migrate or collect within. The valve is based on a modular design concept that enables parts within the line to be interchangeable, reducing the burden and cost of carrying a large inventory of spare parts. ARC Aseptic Remote-Controlled Valve Based on the SRC valve design, the ARC is an aseptic seat valve with a PTFE diaphragm or steel bellows. It can meet most operating conditions, such as high sterilization temperatures. The valve is characterized by excellent cleanability and smooth product treatment. It is available as a stop valve or change-over valve. The ARC is operated by means of compressed air and can be supplied with or without a spring return. The specially designed PTFE/rubber diaphragm unit ensures sterile stem sealing towards the atmosphere, and does not allow product residues to build up on the product contact surface. SMO and SMO-R Sanitary Manual Valves The sanitary and flexible design of the SMO valve can be used in a wide range of applications, e.g. as a stop valve with two or three ports or as a change-over valve with three to five ports. SMO-R is a regulating valve used for manual control of pressure and flow. The valves permit gradual opening and the few and simple moving parts result in very reliable valves that are easy to dismantle. SMO and SMO-R are manually operated versions of the SRC valve. As the main parts are identical, the SMO can easily be converted into an SRC valve. SRC An extremely reliable and hygienic design. ARC An aseptic valve well-suited for high sterilization temperatures. SMO A manually operated valve for a wide range of applications.

15 SRC-LS Sanitary Long-Stroke Valve SRC-LS is specially suited for use in sanitary and non-sanitary applications, where suspended solids or high viscosity products are processed. This has been achieved by increasing the stroke of the valve plug considerably compared to the standard SRC valve. The valve is operated by means of compressed air and can be supplied with or without a spring return. It has few and simple moving parts which results in a very reliable valve. Small Single Seat Valve The Small Single Seat Valve with its sanitary and flexible design is applicable for a wide range of tasks either as a stop valve with two or three ports or as a change-over valve with three to five ports. The valve is suitable for use in food, beverage, dairy and pharmaceutical industries. The design and features of the Small Single Seat Valve makes it very hygienic and easy to clean. With its special double lip sealing concept the valve is very safe, even under vacuum. The valve can be ordered either as a stop valve with two or three ports or as a change over valve with three to five ports. The Small Single Seat Valve is remote-controlled or manually operated and due to few moving parts the small valve is very reliable. SRC-LS For processing suspended solids or high viscosity products. 16 Aseptic Diaphragm Valves Aseptic Diaphragm Valve Alfa Laval offers an extensive range of aseptic diaphragm valves for ultra-hygienic processes. The diaphragm valve is the most commonly used valve in the pharmaceutical industry, but it is also an ideal alternative for other aseptic applications. The Alfa Laval Aseptic Diaphragm Valve is a weir type diaphragm valve. With its modular design, composed of: valve body, diaphragm and actuator, it enables the realization of special designs and needs with high quality and well-proven standard components. It can be combined in a number of configurations and executions but the most typical is a two-way valve offering an on/off function. The Aseptic Diaphragm Valve is available both with manual and pneumatic actuators with a number of options. The diaphragm is the critical part of the valve. In the Alfa Laval range there are both soft and hard compounds each suitable for their specific applications. The soft material diaphragm is EPDM which also is available in EPDM with a Kevlar core when extra mechanical stability is required. The hard diaphragm is PTFE with either EPDM or Silicone as a backing plate. For the pneumatic actuators Alfa Laval also offers an externsive range of automation units, including control units, position indicators, seal adjusters and stroke limiters. Apart from the standard two-way valve Alfa Laval also offers tank outlet valves, T valves and GMP/SAP valves in a wide range of dimensions and configurations. 17 Sanitary Ball Valves SBV Sanitary Ball Valve The full bore design with zero flow restriction makes SBV the optimum choice for viscous or particulate liquids. Applications include the food and beverage industry, as well as the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Furthermore, the full bore design makes the SBV applicable for pigging systems. The valve can be operated by a pneumatic actuator or manually by means of a handle. SBV Your optimum choice for viscous or particle liquids. Regulating Valves CPM-2 Constant Pressure Modulating Valve The Alfa Laval air-actuated CPM-2 valve series is designed to maintain either constant inlet or constant outlet pressure important for such applications as pasteurization, separation, filling systems, filters, filtration and heat exchangers. CPM-2 When you need to keep your product under even pressure. Inside, a diaphragm/valve plug system reacts immediately to any alteration of product pressure and changes position so that the pre-set pressure is maintained. The valve operates with a pressure-regulating valve for the compressed air and a pressure gauge in the product line. The optimum body design of the CPM-2 results in several product benefits, such as excellent cleanability. As the inlet is tangential to the bottom of the valve body there is no sump. One special plug allows very low capacities and high CIP flow. SPC-2 Sanitary Electro-Pneumatic Modulating Valve The SPC-2 is a sanitary valve for use in stainless steel pipe systems. Typical applications are automatic control of pressure, temperature, flow rates and tank levels. The combination of electro-pneumatic actuator and specially designed valve cone makes this one of the most responsive and accurate regulation valves available. Sampling Valves Our sampling equipment ranges from basic sampling valves to premium quality valves, providing the ultimate in sterile and aseptic sampling. Keofitt Aseptic Sampling Valve The Keofitt aseptic sampling valve is designed for sterilization before and after each sampling. The three parts are valve body, valve head and rubber membrane. Keofitt Aseptic Sampling Valve When sterilization between samplings is necessary. The Keofitt is produced in two sizes for different viscosity, and the high viscosity version is available with micro ports to enable sampling by hypodermic needle.

18 LKB Economical on/off routing valves for low and medium viscosity product. Butterfly Valve LKB Butterfly Valve Alfa Laval LKB butterfly valves are economical on/off routing valves, available for either automatic or manually operated systems. Due to their large opening areas, these stainless steel valves offer low flow resistance, allow for reversible flow direction and provide gentle treatment of low and medium viscosity product. LKB Low Pressure The LKB is available also in a low pressure version for pressure up to 5 bar. The LKB-LP is only available including handle with no option for indication and actuation. LKBF Flange Connections The LKB is also available with flange connections. Flange connections in welded systems allow for in-line maintenance. Actuators Available in either normally closed or normally open versions for automatic operation. The LKB can be fitted with vertically mounted LKLA actuators, as well as the ThinkTop control and indication unit. Handles For manual operation, Alfa Laval offers a complete range of handles, including the new multi-position lockable handle and a complete range of multi-position, mechanically locking handles. Other Valves LKC-2 A non-return valve that prevents reverse flow. LKC-2 Non-Return Valve The non-return valve LKC-2 is designed for use in stainless steel pipe installations to prevent reverse product flow. LKC-2 opens when the pressure below the valve plug exceeds the pressure above the plug and the spring force. It closes when pressure equalization has been achieved. A higher counter pressure will press the valve plug against the seat. MH A shutter valve that allows for multi-directional flow of product. MH Shutter Valve The MH is a self-draining valve that allows for multi-directional flow of product. An internal shutter closes ports progressively to help minimize pressure shock and stress. The MH can either be manually or pneumatically operated, and is available with two or three port connections at the same level.

Access tank covers Our range of more than 60 Access tank covers offers various shapes and sizes, including oval, circular and rectangular versions. The covers are designed for installation in both pressure and nonpressure vessels. Our pressure covers have PED and 3.1.B certification. Options include selection of seal materials and special surface finishes. Our HLSD manways are PED approved up to 10 bar and can be installed in pressure vessels above liquid level. Agitators Our range of agitators includes models designed for blending fluids of low and similar viscosity, such as milk, wine, soft drinks and juice. We also have versions for fluids of different viscosities, and for dissolution of solids in liquids. These are ideal for the production of yoghurt, desserts and fruit drinks.
