6 Home grown. We re proud to say that the majority of the timber we use is cut in our very own sawmill from trees grown in the UK. Not only that, but our range is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and the majority of our products proudly carry the FSC logo so you know that our timber is ethically sourced from well-managed, sustainable forests that are replanted for future generations. 6

After felling, the timber is cut and processed in our nearby sawmill and taken to our manufacturing operation in the heart of Britain. It is here our skilled workforce proudly produce the widest range of garden buildings, fencing and structures available in the UK. All of the products that we sell are dispatched from this site, here the final part of their journey is managed by our dedicated delivery department who are responsible for distribution to stores or direct to customers' homes by our fleet of vehicles. ENTERTAIN AND MAINTAIN We know you ll be keen to start entertaining and using the space straightaway, but we strongly advise applying a solvent-based preservative treatment inside and outside soon after assembly. As the UK has a very wet climate it is important to ensure that the timbers remain dry and protected until such time as a treatment is applied. Whilst the timber we use will change colour over time, simply re-apply a colour-based timber treatment regularly to maintain the look. Timber is a natural material which will shrink and expand due to moisture content within wood and the changing weather conditions. Any extreme changes should revert back over time. 92 PRECISION ENGINEERED Our precision-engineered logs are manufactured with chalet-cut corners and a 6-sided joint to reinforce stability against the UK s wind and rain. SUSTAINABLE TIMBER The timber we use is slow grown Nordic Spruce, clear from the tight growth rings on the logs. 104 Care & attention. Here at Forest, we put a lot of care and attention into the manufacture of our products. From selecting just the right type of wood, to our flexible delivery and assembly service options, we take a pride in ensuring that everything is just so. Therefore, to help you get the most out of our products, here are a few things you should know Wood is a natural product and susceptible to changes in the environment, any extreme weather conditions will cause a reaction in timber used outdoors. Heat may cause panels to lose shape but this will be reversed once the temperature subsides. Posts and uprights may split but again this is natural and will not affect the structure of your product. As with all timber buildings, a garden shed will take time to settle in its outside surroundings. In the winter months the wood will swell due to moist air whereas in the summer the wood may shrink. Movement and gaps in the wood are normal, particularly with overlap constructions. 104

Pressure Treated timber. Forest Pressure Treated items which are designed to be in ground contact are impregnated with preservative, an effective method used to protect wood against fungal decay and insect attack, saving time and money on retreating. The treatment is based on the well-established effectiveness of copper combined with a co-biocide. If the treated timber is cut, notched or drilled it is recommended that an effective cut end treatment be applied, failure to do so may reduce effectiveness of the Pressure Treatment. Stains, paint and water repellent may be applied after purchase providing you follow the manufacturer s instructions. PRESSURE TREATED Penetrative treatment for 15 year Anti-Rot protection. Dip Treated timber. Dipped Treated products should be isolated from the ground with a Pressure Treated gravel board or similar base and be retreated periodically to comply with the conditions of the guarantee. To change the colour of the timber, allow the product to mature before applying a suitable brand of stain/paint. DIP TREATED Surface treatment for 10 year shortterm, Anti-Rot protection. Anti-fungal preservative forced into the timber under pressure. Boards are dipped in anti-fungal solution. Ongoing care. We recommend some annual after care which will help protect the wood and make it more durable to ensure it lasts longer. Preservatives, also known as wood treatment, can protect all types of timber from discolouration and decay, as well as giving a constant all-yearround colour. An annual wood preservative paint will protect your new purchase or rejuvenate an existing one. Wood colouration. Pressure Treated wood colouration varies depending on timber species and length of time from treatment, the colour will fade over time to a silver/brown. Dip Treated product colour is not permanent and to retain factory finish treatment should be applied regularly. Where to site your product. The base for any product should be firm and level; ideally air should be able to circulate under the base. Wooden buildings must not be sited directly on soil or grass, our sheds are all provided with bearers to allow air flow under the shed. Any questions? 106 Round Timber Gazebos. Preparation, planning & installation. We can only install Gazebos on a pre-prepared level base with no slopes. A solid finish is required for the base area, it must be concrete, tarmac, wooden decking, paving slabs or other solid secure material. Gazebos cannot be installed on grass, soil, loose gravel or other loose material surfaces. The base can be the shape of the Gazebo, or as a square, rectangle or circle provided it is large enough to secure the whole floor area. These buildings are non-permanent structures that are free standing and require no foundations. These types of garden building normally require no planning permission if installed at least 2 metres away from boundary fences and they do not exceed a maximum height of 4m. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure any planning permissions are sought, if in any doubt please contact your local authority. Our Gazebos all come with installation included and our team of expert fitters will install in your garden. Please note that delivery and installation may not be on the same day. An installation will typically take from 1-3 days depending on the size of structure ordered and the type of roof, most are installed within a day. Delivery. Each Forest Garden Gazebo is hand built to order at our site in rural Worcestershire so there may be a lead time of up to 6 weeks. We ll keep in touch and make sure you know the progress of your Gazebo and when to expect delivery. Our Gazebos are normally delivered via a kerb side pallet drop delivery by a crane off-load vehicle. We typically plan to deliver to the front garden or drive. It is important that there is sufficient space and access for your Gazebo to be delivered to your property. Qualities of timber. As a natural product, wood may be subject to some splitting during the drying process or with changes in weather conditions as it contracts and expands. Splitting does not affect the integral strength of the timber and it s a natural feature of the product. Standard Thatch and Cedar will change colour over the years to a grey/silver/brown colour. Weather conditions and positioning of the Gazebo will also have an effect on the properties of the timber. All our Gazebos are made from natural materials. They are designed to provide a shower proof environment. Timber and Cedar roofs are constructed with a high performance Tricoya lining while a heavy duty canvas roof liner is supplied with our Thatch options. During severe weather conditions there may be the chance of water ingress. 106
