Total Volunteers Needed 4-6 AIDS Connecticut (Connections Wellness Center) ACT is a drop in community center for people living with HIV/AIDS General Maintenance and Cleaning Cleaning, paint touch ups, organizing special skills required Comfortable clothes that can get dirty/paint on them Total Volunteers Needed 4 Autism Families CONNECTicut AFC's mission is to provide recreational and social activities for families affected by autism, that promote growth and meaningful social connections. 9th Anniversary Sparkling Celebration Gala Prep The Sparkling Celebration is Autism Families CONNECTicut s major annual fundraiser to raise funds that support AFC s various programs and events. Held at the Simsbury Inn and featuring DJ John Cadillac Saville, this gala is a fun night out filled with exciting auction items, fabulous food and cocktails, and great music and dancing. The date for the 2019 Sparkling Celebration Gala will be April 13, Gala decor and auction item decor and preparation will include tasks, such as: - cutting up stars that are used for teacup raffle - wrapping wine pull bottles - helping with images for displays - cleaning display items - putting together baskets for the auction and making them look pretty - curling ribbon for displays, etc. special skills required positive energy, water bottle, additional snacks if they require or have specific needs

2 Total Volunteers Needed Bushnell Park Foundation The Bushnell Park Foundation, in collaboration with the City of Hartford, is dedicated to the protection, preservation and enhancement of Bushnell Park. Garden Bed Maintenance There are 39 garden beds that line Bushnell Park rth. The students will be asked to rake them out, pull old weeds and pick up any garbage nearby. special skills required. 20 or more Wear comfortable clothing, including long pants (no shorts) Total Volunteers Needed 15 Capital City Education Alliance CCEA lays the foundation for workforce readiness by inspiring and empowering youth in Greater Hartford through projects and partnerships that build character, skills, and pathways to success. Painting Garage Doors Depending on weather: Fix painting on Pope Park Highway Garage Doors or Burns Latino School - painting a conference room. Willingness to get dirty! special skills needed, we will teach everyone how to commercial paint water bottle

3 Total Volunteers Needed 8 Chrysalis Center, Inc. Chrysalis Center provides supportive services to assist people in need to transform their lives. Butterfly Boutique Overhaul We have an outdoor storage space, no heat, that has donations for starting up a new home. We recently repaired the roof and need help cleaning and organizing the space. Depending on weather, we may be ready to add mulch at our property or help in Freshplace, our fresh food pantry. Generations CRT helps individuals, families, and communities address the challenges they face in building a successful future. Generations Spring Cleanup Spring cleaning in the garden area, cleaning the outside grounds (litter), and organizing the arts and crafts closet. willingness to work water bottle

Nutrition Store Room Total Volunteers Needed 3 CRT helps individuals, families, and communities address the challenges they face in building a successful future. People of all ages turn to CRT for help with basic needs, relief during a crisis or support to make long term changes. Nutrition Store Room Cleaning Volunteers will help move all the racks away from the walls in the store room, wash the walls and mop under the racks, and organize and put it all back. willingness to work water bottle

5 Community Renewal Team, Inc. Wethersfield Commons Total Volunteers Needed 5 CRT helps individuals, families, and communities address the challenges they face in building a successful future. People of all ages turn to CRT for help with basic needs, relief during a crisis or support to make long term changes. Wethersfield Commons Apartment Building Spring Cleanup Spring Cleanup for a residential apartment building. willingness to work water bottle Total Volunteers Needed 10 Covenant to Care for Children CCC is a non-profit that supports children in the care of social workers. Donation Sorting Attendees will help sort donations and help clean out our delivery truck Standing for majority of activities; if helping with truck and disbursement of non-usable donations: lifting up to 50lbs (this is not required of volunteers working in the office) water bottle

6 Total Volunteers Needed 3 CT Women's Education and Legal Fund CWEALF advocates for and empowers women and girls in Connecticut, especially those who are underserved or marginalized. We work to create an equitable society where women and girls thrive. Office Clean Up and Client Cards Help CWEALF during an office clean-up day, and also help us write encouragement cards to CWEALF clients! Follows directions well; positive attitude wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes Total Volunteers Needed 12 Ebony Horsewomen, Inc. Therapeutic Equestrian and Agricultural Center for Youth Spring Revamp As we prepare for our spring and summer programming, the inside of our building and classroom space need a paint color change. Our outdoor rabbit hutches are in need of a spring rebuild. Spring garden preparations need to be started. painting, carpentry, and/or gardening experience Gardening tools (if available), clothes and footwear that you don't mind getting dirty

7 Total Volunteers Needed 20 Faith Congregational Church Faith Church is a diverse worship community, inclusive, justice-minded, and unapologetic about our faith and our witness. We celebrate diversity, we celebrate community and we celebrate Jesus Christ. Spring Cleaning Opportunity for volunteers to organize the nursery, clean the sanctuary, clean and organize the kitchen, clean and organize the study, clean the gym, clean the fellowship hall. Cleaning includes vacuuming, polishing, dusting, mopping, etc. a desire to give back! Water bottle Total Volunteers Needed Girl Scouts of Connecticut, Inc. 8 Total Volunteers Needed 20 Keney Park Sustainability Project KPSP's mission is to provide hands-on training, on-site demonstrations, education outreach, and community collaborations that help families become more self-sustainable and environmentally conscious, while preserving the historic Keney Park. Garden Prep Volunteers will be preparing the gardens for planting in addition to clearing brush and removing debris that has fallen during the winter. specialized skills required. water bottle, closed-toe shoes, and long pants Total Volunteers Needed 30 KNOX, Inc. Using horticulture as a catalyst for community engagement, KNOX forges partnerships between residents, businesses, and government, providing leadership to build stronger, greener, healthier and more beautiful neighborhoods in Hartford. Garden Plot Prep Preparing plots for the 2019 growing season in the community garden at Watkinson School. The garden is one of our largest and can be accessed through the driveway of the Unitarian Church. Must be physically able to work outdoors digging, raking, weeding, removing debris, etc. Come dressed to work preparing gardens - old clothes and closed-toed shoes or boots.

9 Total Volunteers Needed 10 Real Art Ways Real Art Ways is an alternative multidisciplinary arts organization that presents and supports contemporary artists and their work, facilitates the creation of new work and creatively engages, builds and informs audiences and communities. George Day Park Clean Up Every summer since 1990, we host Park Art in George Day Park across the street from our office. We will be cleaning up the park and getting the flower beds ready for the children. For more information about the program, check out our website: Gardening/yard work a positive attitude, garden gloves (if available), and any hand garden tools (if available) ReStore- Habitat For Humanity Resale store. Proceeds support the Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity builds Spring Clean-Up Potential projects may include 1) Spring clean up of property; 2) painting of storage containers; 3) unloading truck or containers; 4) cleaning appliances and/or furniture; 5) paint recycling; 6) sorting tile; 7) assembling furniture; 8) cleaning seasonal furniture; etc. Total Volunteers Needed 6-12 Heavy lifting may be required Dress in comfortable clothing that can get dirty and closed-toed shoes, and bring a water bottle

10 Total Volunteers Needed 25 Riverfront Recapture Riverfront Recapture is a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting people to the Connecticut River. Spring Park Clean-Up Day Spring Clean-Up could include sweeping/shoveling sand, picking up sticks, starting to clean up flower beds, clearing flood debris/washing down walkways, or specific tasks as determined by our Director of Park Operations. specific skills required. water bottle, garden/work gloves (if available), snacks, and wear layers (it's cooler by the river) and closed-toed shoes. Total Volunteers Needed 30 Shepard Meadows Therapeutic Riding Center Shepard Meadows is a Therapeutic Horseback Riding Center that provides equine assisted programs to children, youth, adults and veterans, offering an inclusive environment where everyone is accepted for their individual strengths, regardless of disability. Freshen-Up the Farm 1. general house & office cleaning including windows, floors & baseboards; 2. gardening & yard clean up around the house; 3. cobwebbing & sweeping up the barn; 4. raking, brush clean up, & hanging up sensory items special skills required work gloves, closed-toed shoes, & weather appropriate attire, such as rain jackets

11 Total Volunteers Needed 15 St. Justin-St. Michael Parish Roman Catholic Church Establish Garden Bed 1. Gardening - clearing grass from the area around the outdoor sign, digging, raking, etc. to create a garden bed; 2. Moving and Storage - relocating items from one storage room to another; 3. Food Pantry Delivery and Set Up - help unload the truck to stock their food pantry no gardening experience required, but helpful; some heavy lifting may be required Gloves for gardening if available; work gloves for moving if available Total Volunteers Needed 5-10 Soup kitchen The House of Bread House of Bread Maintenance Activities could include: *Cleaning inside stoves, refrigerators, etc. *Cleaning outside grounds *Painting ne; volunteers will be trained on the job. a great attitude

12 Total Volunteers Needed 4-6 The Village for Families & Children The mission of The Village is "to build a community of strong, healthy families who protect and nurture children." We achieve this mission by providing a full range of support services for children, families, and adults in the Greater Hartford region. Sorting at the Second Chance Shop The Village is seeking volunteers to sort and display donations for the West Hartford Second Chance Shop. Volunteers will go through donated items in an effort to: 1. determine if items are clean and appropriate for the store; 2. separate and sort items by category and season; 3. prepare appropriate items for display and sale. The Second Chance Shops are donation-driven, volunteer-led, high-quality consignment stores. With 100% of the proceeds supporting The Village for Families & Children. Volunteers must be able to move up and down stairs and stand for extended periods of time. Retail experience a plus but not necessary. comfortable clothing and a positive attitude
