The jewel of the National Arboretum. One of Washington s most notable and unusual landmarks is the National Capitol Columns. This space is ideal for cocktails and passed hors d oeuvres or desserts and after dinner drinks under the moonlight. Arboretum Center Patio is included in this package as a back up space for inclement weather. Client is responsible for tenting patio. The National Herb Garden is the largest designed herb garden in the U.S. that includes annual, perennial, and woody herbal plants. The Entrance Garden highlights seasonally changing beds with plants as exotic as tropical passion flowers or as commonplace as pansies. The Entrance Garden is within the fragrant aromas of the herb garden, juxtaposed with the beauty of the historic columns. Farm to table dinner menus with string lighting and simple table settings highlight the elegant gardens and perfect view of the Capitol Columns.

4 Aquatic Garden & Center Patios Visitor Center Lobby Event Type: Seated Dinner Capacity: Seated Dinner for Client is responsible for tenting patio. The Aquatic Garden Patio surrounds the Visitor Center. Located adjacent to the Bonsai Museum and across from the Herb Garden s view of the Columns; this is the ideal location for a tented dinner or open seating to the Arboretum. On the north side of the Visitor Center sits the patio, which is adorned with an array of seasonal potted plants and a sampling of the wide range of Arboretum trees, and is conveniently located near building facilities and parking. Event Type: Reception or Seated Dinner Capacity: Up to 50 Guests The Arboretum Visitor Center, perfectly appointed at the entrance to the park, has an open, light-filled lobby space available to groups. This indoor location can be transformed into a lovely dinner setting for 50 guests. Combined with a 45 minute tour, a magical evening can be created simply but still remain unforgettable.

5 COMMUNITY GARDEN Event Rental Information Available Upon Request Friendship Garden at ARBOR HOUSE Event Rental Information Available Upon Request The Washington Youth Garden sows the seeds of interest in gardening, horticulture, and environmental issues during the school year with carefully designed lessons and activities that are delivered in the classrooms of several schools in the area. When spring arrives, students plant their own small garden plots in the Youth Garden. The garden features a small pavilion with picnic tables. This creative space is ideal for picnics that include families. The Friendship Garden surrounds the Arbor House, which was once a caretaker s residence but is now home to the Friends of the National Arboretum and the Arbor House Gift Shop. Two garden sculptures can be seen in the Friendship Garden; John Cavanaugh s sculpture of Demeter, the goddess of agriculture, is nestled among lush grasses and bamboo along the walk to the entrance to the Arbor House. To the rear of the garden, you can see Beverly Pepper s abstract sculpture, Split Ritual.

6 Tram & Walking Tours Cost: Per Person Based on Selected Tours Give your guests the opportunity to learn more about the National Arboretum by adding guided walking tours or tram tours to your evening. The tour provides an interesting overview of the National Arboretum s history, collections, and research.
