The PC-controlled system consists of a master control station and a series of instrument docking modules (IDMs). While the DS1000 database supports an unlimited number of instruments, the master control unit interfaces with multiple IDMs to allow each station to communicate with up to five instruments simultaneously. The instrument user simply brings the instrument to the station, places it on the IDM and the DS1000 takes control to perform the required test or calibration. Once the maintenance functions have been completed, the records have been permanently stored and the instrument has been automatically updated with any operating parameter changes that have been made in the database, the unit is put as well as catalytic and electrochemical sensor technology for safety and confined space applications. This combination enabled TransCanada to utilize one instrument in place of two. I also have a beep about once every second. What is the problem? A: The blank area of the display and one second beep indicates that sensor needs to be calibrated. The sensor may have been replaced, changed or for some unknown reason, previously failed calibration. You should access Q the calibration mode and perform a full and complete calibration. If the problem remains unchanged, your sensor could be weak and unable to pass calibration. At this point, &A you should verify that the correct calibration gas is being used and that it has not expired. Expired calibration gas can cause the concentration of that particular gas to be too low for the sensor to pass calibration. If the above conditions have been met, you need to replace your sensor. Q: I charged my instrument all night and this morning when I turn the instrument on, it only ran for about 2 or 3 hours. My battery is only a year old. What has happened to my battery? A: As your battery is relatively new, this is not caused by age of battery. Your battery has likely developed a memory condition. This can be caused by improper charging of your battery. First, try to remove this condition by discharging the battery utilizing the discharge mode option on your charger*. This procedure will completely discharge your battery, fast charge and place on trickle charge until it is removed. Remove the battery and repeat this cycle a second time to completely eliminate the memory condition. This should remove the memory condition. If not, you will have to replace your battery. To avoid creating a memory condition, please make sure that the proper charging instructions are followed* (see below).
