MATELEX LEAK DETECTION Matelex is a pioneer in leak detection systems using indirect measurement methods, Matelex offers a reliable solution that fulfills the obligation to install a leak detector for installations containing more than 500 T CO 2 equivalent (i.e. 128 kg of R- 404A). ENERGY CONSUMPTION REDUCTION Patented since 2009, the DNI [smart level sensor] exceeds regulatory requirements and provides constant monitoring of installation, improving energy performance thanks to energy and floating HP modules. ONLINE USER INTERFACE The DNI management website Sentinelle offers data visualisation and comparison. An essential tool for monitoring and traceability for refrigeration installations.
MATELEX: OUR COMMITMENT TWO TYPES OF GREENHOUSE GASES EMISSIONS A COMPLETE SUPPLY - Direct emissions - Indirect emissions - Emissions reduction with the DNI [smart level sensor] - Energy and floating HP module: energy monitoring and management of the installations - Online user interface (Sentinelle): remote management and data visualisation & comparison Direct Indirect Reduce environmental impact of refrigeration installations with emissions reduction and energy consumption management.
DNI & MODULES ENERGY MODULE DNI FLOATING HP MODULE SENTINELLE WEB USER INTERFACE
DNI AND ADDITIONAL MODULES DNI DNI + energy module DNI + energy module + floating HP module Leak detection Online interface ( s alerts, data display and remote actions) Calculation of the theoretical COP Calculation of actual COP Monitoring of energy deviations Achievement of energy savings
THE DNI Leak detection, remote monitoring and traceability of refrigeration installations - System for detecting refrigerant leaks using indirect measurement methods Automatic leakage alerts - Measurements every 2 to 3 seconds (level + pressure, temperature, readings, etc.) - The DNI learns the operation of the installation through algorithmic calculations to trigger an alarm at the right time - Calculation of compressors theoretical COP - Tested in superstores: 79% fluid savings* compared with a traditional detection method (Ademe evaluation of February 2011) Above 500 t CO 2 eq., it is compulsory to install a leak detection device (Regulation «F-Gas» (EU) No 517/2014 Art.5)
THE DNI The DNI is suitable for all types of equipment - Assembly of a column weighed using a strain gauge and connected by hoses - Leak detection: by level monitoring, measurements and algorithmic calculations - Suitable for all fluid tanks: - vertical - horizontal - tilted horizontal - Suitable for all fluids: +120 fluids registered + possible to create your own fluids Above 500 t CO 2 eq., it is compulsory to install a leak detection device (Regulation «F-Gas» (EU) No 517/2014 Art.5)
ENERGY MODULE Energy monitoring of refrigeration plants - Measurement and calculation of the real COP + monitoring of energy deviations - Compressors + condenser fans + pumps consumption (kw and conversion to ) - Possibility of comparing the values of 2 installations over a chosen period - COP comparison tool - Display and comparison of performances from Sentinelle web interface Measurements: - Consumption of compressor(s) - Consumption of condenser fans - Consumption of pumps (indirect circuits) - Discharge temperature + Evacuated gas temperature Above 500 t CO 2 eq., it is compulsory to install a leak detection device (Regulation «F-Gas» (EU) No 517/2014 Art.5)
FLOATING HP MODULE Achieving energy savings thanks to Floating HP - Automatic modulation of the High Pressure settings in relation to the exterior temperature - Aim: reduce the fans energy consumption - The adjustment of the floating HP module is adapted to the actual energy consumption measured by the energy module - Eligible for energy bonuses in some countries, like France The module does not need any additional sensors The floating HP module has 4 relays for 4 ventilation stages If insufficient, add 1 to 2 module(s) 4 relays to reach up to 12 ventilation stages Above 500 t CO 2 eq., it is compulsory to install a leak detection device (Regulation «F-Gas» (EU) No 517/2014 Art.5)
SENTINELLE WEB INTERFACE The DNI management website Sentinelle offers data visualisation and comparison. An essential tool for monitoring and traceability for refrigeration installations. Leak detected Correct operation Learning mode Connection problem
SENTINELLE WEB INTERFACE User web interface for DNI & modules with data visualisation & comparison - Overview of installed DNIs and visibility on the fluid bank - Monitoring of fluid levels and leaks + alarms management - Leak detection reminders & installation log - Technical and energy monitoring of the installations (with additional modules) Quick indicators in graphical form : - Fluid level - Pressures and temperatures technical information on the installation - COP + comparison of COPs with similar installations (anonymous mode) - Energy consumption + performance comparison tools Visual indicators : - Leak repair time - Leak rate - Installations TEWI (Total Equivalent Warming Impact) Real-time enthalpy diagrams & real-time schema of the installation in operation

IN BRIEF - Reduction in refrigerant leaks (up to 79%) - Reduction in costs: fluid, maintenance, energy consumption - Reduction in overall carbon footprint - Compliance with regulations + reduction in detection frequency - Minimises risks of production shutdown and operating losses - Reactivity of monitoring due to real-time data - Very rapid return on investment Fluid Category Equipment refrigerant charge Inspection frequency Without a detection system HCFC 2kg charge < 30kg 12 months 30kg charge < 300 kg Leak detection frequency Inspection frequency With a detection system installed 6 months 300 kg charge 3 months HFC, PFC 5 t CO2 eq. charge < 50 t CO2 eq. 12 months 24 months 50 t CO2 eq. charge < 500 t CO2 eq. 6 months 12 months 500 t CO2 eq. charge compulsory 6 months
PERFORMANCE VALIDATION Evaluation of the DNI in case of a «rapid leak» test Test location : hypermarket in France The test was stopped at 16:18h. The quantity of R-404A measured on the balance 27,040 at the end of the test. RESULTS Type of leak Mean leak rate Leak detected by the DNI Time for detection of the leak by the DNI Type of alarm Quantity of refrigerant lost Increasing leak 3.1 kg/h or 50.9 g/min YES 5h35 min Statistical alarm white level 25.3 kg Loss compared with normal charge of the unit 4.20%
