The event remains the leading showcase for the process automation industry. STAHL E13 WIKA B21 SpectroBAY the process spectrometer system Over the past decade the techniques of spectroscopic analysis have helped to establish single-substance analytics more widely within the process industry. This applies particularly to spectroscopic measurements in the near infrared range (NIR). Spectroscopic measurements are the technique of choice for monitoring chemical reactions and reprocessings in real time in organic solvents, polymer melts and solids. The SpectroBAY modular system is designed to be integrated into a process management concept, e.g. for regulating the operation of distillation columns or for the optimum control of continuous-production or batch-production plants. SpectroBAY can also be used to monitor polymerization processes, the synthesization of active chemical ingredients or selected stages in the formulation of products, such as mixing or granulation. Hall 7, Stand B28 Programmable multifunctional transmitter Whatever it is you need to measure currents, voltages, resistances or temperature the new V604s signal converter combines all the necessary functions in a single device, with a basic accuracy of 0.1 per cent. Safety is paramount, and the SINEAX V604s features heavy-duty galvanic isolation of all circuits for maximum protection of operatives and systems. Two inputs and two outputs can be interconnected as required to facilitate calculations and sensor monitoring (for predictive maintenance). All input and output data can be communicated as standard via MODBUS interface. A programmable relay is also provided. The main focus is on end-to-end and standardized device concepts for liquid analysis and measurement of flow and level. Notable highlights include the world premiere of the Promass E 2-wire, reliable Coriolis mass flow measurement now available with 2-wire technology, and the Levelflex FMP55, the first multi-parameter transmitter for interface measurement in liquids. Another exciting innovation is the new four-wire transmitter Liquiline M CM442. Together with its digital sensors boasting Memosens protocol, it should cause quite a stir in the industry. Hall 7, Stand E29 Calibrating the smart way The calibration of process plant is often still regarded as a necessary evil a job to be done, and no more. But intelligent calibration can and should deliver far more, namely the continuous optimization of systems and hence useful cost savings. Our integrated calibration solution combines individual components such as calibration management, test equipment and professional services in one convenient package. Not only is the interface between process calibrator and calibration software automated, but there is a permanent, bidirectional exchange of data between the calibration management module and the firm s own ERP tool (e.g. SAP, Maximo). Improvements in quality and efficiency are a logical consequence of this integration. Another new product launch features a fieldbus calibrator that supports Profibus PA & Fieldbus H1, with ATEX approval. 6 In 2010 it all will be about the technology Measurement solutions for gas & steam KROHNE presents measurement solutions for natural gas, steam, saturated steam, process and application gases. Interested users can learn about the different measurement principles and solutions, and discuss their requirements with the company s experts in detail. In addition to gas & steam measurements, KROHNE is proud to present a large variety of new product innovations: The OPTITEMP TT51 temperature transmitter completes KROHNE s temperature portfolio. It sets new standards in terms of accuracy and diagnostic functionality, providing a high level even in safety related applications. (SIL2). Another highlight is the OPTIWAVE 6300 radar level meter. With its innovative drop antenna, the device is designed for contactless measurement of powders, granulates and other solids even under most extreme conditions. The flow meter product range is extended by a number of new additions: alongside solutions for temporary measurements using ultrasound clamp-on flow meters, visitors can view a broad range of devices for measuring fluids, gases and steam. Hall 7, Stand C13 Multifunctional pressure transmitter The PASCAL CS multifunctional pressure transmitter can also be used as a pressure switch. 7 In 2010 the spotlight will be on innovations At last: fieldbus infrastructure with complete intrinsic safety FieldConnex has made it possible: DART Fieldbus technology with intrinsically safe High-Power Trunk and spurs maximizes cable length and field device numbers. Trunk and spur cables can be laid together. And investment security is not an issue: all current Entity field devices will fit one per spur as long as they are certified for intrinsic safety (Exib). A further show highlight this year is WirelessHART. Last year Pepperl+Fuchs used their presentation mainly to address the technological aspects of WirelessHART, but now the first commercial products are available. On display will be a WirelessHART gateway, a WirelessHART adapter and a WirelessHART temperature converter. Hall 7, Stand C14 Radar level measurement: taking the technology to the next level VEGA s optimized radar level measurement technology is now even more versatile and reliable. The company s newly developed electronics deliver significantly improved accuracy and therefore reliability, particularly with media of low reflectivity. Other new technical features include optimized antenna systems and additional housing options, making the benefits of VEGA s radar level measurement technology more widely available for demanding applications in the chemical and petrochemical industry, power plant engineering and the bulk goods sector. The new electronics are fully compatible with the old, providing users with the assurance of trouble-free exchange and ease of operation. Everything has been designed to work together: all new and previous sensor models are calibrated with the same operating software, while new radar electronics are compatible with existing housings and antenna systems. 8 In 2010 business success will be measurable Explosion protection for fieldbus systems The main focus of this year s display from R. STAHL is on explosion-protected products for fieldbus systems. In addition to tried and tested solutions such as the secondgeneration Remote I/O IS1 Profibus and innovative products for FF and PA fieldbus installations, R. STAHL offers new products and systems that look ahead to the future: the first Zone 1 Remote I/O with Fast Industrial Ethernet and the Modbus/TCP or EtherNet/IP protocols, ready for next-generation process buses such as PROFINET or FF HSE. Also on display is a unique Fieldbus Power Supply with built-in bus diagnostics that indicate the operating status of the bus to the user via intuitive traffic light style LEDs. In addition, R. STAHL also offers stateof-the-art explosion-protected wireless technologies for process automation applications. Featured products include WLAN solutions, GSM/GPRS modems and a WirelessHART gateway. Hall 7, Stand E13 Pressure, temperature and calibration Over the past sixty years the name WIKA has become synonymous with sophisticated solutions for pressure and temperature measurement and calibration.
