Te unit must be installed according to te instructions in order to minimize te risk of damage from eartquakes, typoons, or strong winds. n incorrectly installed unit may fall down and cause damage or injuries. Te unit must be securely installed on a structure tat can sustain its weigt. f te air conditioner is installed in a small room, measures must be taken to prevent te refrigerant concentration in te room from exceeding te safety limit in te event of refrigerant leakage. Sould te refrigerant leak and cause te concentration limit to be exceeded, azards due to lack of oxygen in te room may result... efore installation (nvironment) aution: o not use te unit in an unusual environment. f te air conditioner is installed in areas exposed to steam, volatile oil (including macine oil), or sulfuric gas, areas exposed to ig salt content suc as te seaside, te performance can be significantly reduced and te internal parts can be damaged. o not install te unit were combustible gases may leak, be produced, flow, or accumulate. f combustible gas accumulates around te unit, fire or explosion may result. o not keep food, plants, caged pets, artwork, or precision instruments in te direct airflow of te indoor unit or too close to te unit, as tese items can be damaged by temperature canges or dripping water... efore installation or relocation aution: e extremely careful wen transporting te units. Two or more persons are needed to andle te unit, as it weigs 0 kg or more. o not grasp te packaging bands. Wear protective gloves as you can injure your ands on te fins or oter parts. e sure to safely dispose of te packaging materials. Packaging materials, suc as nails and oter metal or wooden parts may cause stabs or oter injuries... efore electric work aution: e sure to install circuit breakers. f not installed, electric sock may result. or te power lines, use standard cables of sufficient capacity. Ventilate te room if refrigerant leaks during operation. f refrigerant comes into contact wit a flame, poisonous gases will be released. ll electric work must be performed by a qualified tecnician according to local regulations and te instructions given in tis manual. Use only specified cables for wiring. Te terminal block cover panel of te unit must be firmly attaced. Use only accessories autorized by Mitsubisi lectric and ask a dealer or an autorized tecnician to install tem. Te user sould never attempt to repair te unit or transfer it to anoter location. fter installation as been completed, ceck for refrigerant leaks. f refrigerant leaks into te room and comes into contact wit te flame of a eater or portable cooking range, poisonous gases will be released. Wen te room umidity exceeds 80% or wen te drainpipe is clogged, water may drip from te indoor unit. o not install te indoor unit were suc dripping can cause damage. Wen installing te unit in a ospital or communications office, be prepared for noise and electronic interference. nverters, ome appliances, ig-frequency medical equipment, and radio communications equipment can cause te air conditioner to malfunction or breakdown. Te air conditioner may also affect medical equipment, disturbing medical care, and communications equipment, arming te screen display quality. Termal insulation of te refrigerant pipe is necessary to prevent condensation. f te refrigerant pipe is not properly insulated, condensation will be formed. Place termal insulation on te pipes to prevent condensation. f te drainpipe is installed incorrectly, water leakage and damage to te ceiling, floor, furniture, or oter possessions may result. o not clean te air conditioner unit wit water. lectric sock may result. Tigten all flare nuts to specification using a torque wrenc. f tigtened too muc, te flare nut can break after an extended period. e sure to ground te unit. f te unit is not properly grounded, electric sock may result. Use circuit breakers (ground fault interrupter, isolating switc (+ fuse), and molded case circuit breaker) wit te specified capacity. f te circuit breaker capacity is larger tan te specified capacity, breakdown or fire may result. o not operate te air conditioner witout te air filter set in place. f te air filter is not installed, dust may accumulate and breakdown may result. o not touc any switc wit wet ands. lectric sock may result. o not touc te refrigerant pipes wit bare ands during operation. fter stopping operation, be sure to wait at least five minutes before turning off te main power switc. (f possible, secure te fixture at all te positions marked wit a bold arrow.) (ig. -4) s Secure te wall mounting fixture troug its middle row of -mm-dia. oles using locally purcased bolts (troug bolts, bolt ancor and nut ancor) of M0 or W/8 treading. Te bolt tip must not protrude by more tan 5 mm from te wall surface. (ig. -5) Use at least two bolts for a concrete wall, and at least four bolts for a foamed concrete wall. Wile pusing up te front lower portion of te side panel (to disengage te side panel catc from te unit catc), slide te upper portion of te side panel to te left. Wen te piping as been completed, use te securing screws to fix te indoor unit on te wall mounting fixture. ig. - ote: eck tat te catces of te indoor unit securely fit over te ooks of te wall mounting fixture. Te screw indicated by te bold arrow is used only during transportation and sould be removed. Precautions 4... or devices tat use R407 refrigerant o not use te existing refrigerant piping. o not use crused, missapen, or discolored tubing. Te inside of te tubing sould be clean and free from armful sulfuric compounds, oxidants, dirt, debris, oils and moisture. Store te piping to be used during installation indoors and keep bot ends of te piping sealed until just before brazing. Use ester oil, eter oil or alkylbenzene (small amount) as te refrigerator oil to coat flares and flange connections. Use liquid refrigerant to fill te system. o not use a refrigerant oter tan R407.
