3 1 Research Significance Pipeline Information Pipeline covers a series of cities with many people, whose safety is very important. Leaks can be inevitably caused by internal factors or by external factors, which are needed to detect and locate rapidly and accurately. Traditional methods can not meet the needs of the complicated situation. Digitization has many merits that can be used for the leakage detection of long distance pipeline.

4 2 Key Technologies 3S-integration technolodies GIS (geographic information system ) GPS (global positioning system ) RS (remote sensing) where the main technology in pipeline leakage detection system is the first one-gis with its interface of digitization pipeline as follows (sees Digitization Pipeline in next sheet)

5 3 Digitization Pipeline The main interface of digitization pipeline where there are pipeline information such as pressure, flow rate, oil velocity, oil temperature, attitude etc. with the geographic information, thus we can quickly master the basic condition of pipeline.

12 Alarm Example 5 Leakage Alarm On May 23rd, 2007, this system captured the alarm information which was an effective alarm after field-proven.

13 6 Conclusions Digital system has been successfully put into use in West Crude & Product Oil Pipeline of China Petroleum, and has achieved good results. It has the following merits: Sensitivity Real time Accuracy Easy maintenance Adaptability high performance-price ratio
