1 INSTALLATION The 2SD Smoke Detector Kit contains the parts and hardware to mount the smoke detector in the following applications: A. Supply Air Stream (Blower Compartment) B. Return Air Stream (Return Compartment) C. Return Air Stream (with Economizer) D. Supply or Return Duct (use Factory Installation Instruction) BRACKET SUPPLY BRACKET RETURN WIRE HARNESS MAINTANCE & INSTALLATION HARD WARE BAG Check for the correct number of parts. See list below: 23 SAMPLING TUBE 12 TUBE EXTENTION 1 ea. Smoke Detector with Wire Harness 1 ea. Smoke Detector Bracket Return 1 ea. Smoke Detector Bracket Supply 1 ea. Tube Extension ea. 2 SUPPLY AIR APPLICATION Remove the clear cover of the smoke detector. INSTALLATION SHOWS AIR HOLE LOCATION Insert 23 sampling tube in the inlet tube of the smoke detector. Make sure the air holes of the sampling tube face towards the airflow. Place the sampling tub filters into both the exhaust tube and the inlet tube. FILTER RED PLUG Insert red tube plug into the end of sampling tube. Attach smoke detector to supply bracket with the x 1 ½ screws. BRACKET P14 Step 6: Open blower access panel and remove the two screws shown above. REMOVE Step 7: Align hole in the smoke detector bracket with the holes where screws were removed in Step 6 and secure. Plug the plug (P14) of wire harness into the Socket (S14) of the unit. 3 INSTALLATION RETURN AIR APPLICATION (NO ECONOMIZER) P13 BRACKET Repeat steps 1 through 4 of the supply application. Attach smoke detector to return bracket with the x 1 ½ screws. Open return split panels and remove the two screws shown above. REMOVE Align hole in the smoke detector bracket with the holes where screws were removed in Plug the plug (P13) of wire harness into the Socket (S13) of the unit. S14/P14 PLUG P13

4 INSTALLATION WITH ECONOMZIER Remove the clear cover of the smoke detector. Insert 12 extension tube in the inlet tube of the smoke detector. Place the sampling tub filters into both the exhaust tube and the inlet tube. C B A Insert red tube plug into the end of sampling tube. Attach ½ liquid tight fittings on to both ends of the liquid tight flex. Slide A over flex and then insert B by screwing into flex. Take C place over B then tighten A until fitting is secure. Step 6: Insert 23 sampling tube into side of return air damper. Step 7: Secure sampling tube with four x ½ screws provided. Make sure the air holes of the sampling tube face towards the airflow. Step 8: Cut the aluminum tape that covers the holes for sampling tubes of the smoke detector. Insert sampling tubes of the smoke detector in the holes of return damper then secure with x 1 ½ screw provided. Step 9: Take the Liquid tight flex with fittings and attach to the 23 sampling tube and 12 extention tube.

5 INSTALLATION Step 10: Slide nut over the tube and slide the compression ring up on the tube. Put end of fitting over the end of tubes and then tighten nut down. Step 11: Slide return damper back into the unit. Step 12: Plug the plug (P13) of wire harness into the Socket (S13) of the unit. JULY 20, 2000 FORM# YKISMK29
