Minimum PPE: Gloves, Helmet and Eye Protection PERFORMANE andidate must successfully pass this skill in 15 minutes to pass 1. With assistance, removes generator from storage, using proper lift techniques. 2. Inspects spark plug, changes as necessary, gaps to specifications. 3. Inspects plug wire for damage or frayed wire. 4. Inspects carburetor. 5. Adequate fuel level. Ensures fresh fuel. 6. hecks oil level. Adds as necessary. 7. Inspects all lighting equipment. 8. Starts generator, checks light operation (assume bulb is bad). 9. Disconnects power prior to servicing. 10. Removes defective bulb and installs proper replacement, if necessary. 11. Discards faulty bulb and return equipment to proper storage. 12.Documents inspection data and reports equipment needing service or removed from service to command. 8 JPR Task(s): Service Test Fire Hose OMMISSION ON FIRE PROTETION PERSONNEL STANDARDS AND EDUATION OMMONWEALTH OF KENTUKY FIREFIGHTER 2 OMPETENY EVALUATION Skill No PERFORMANE RITERIA AND INSTRUTIONS andidate #: INSTRUTIONS TO THE ANDIDATE "The candidate, in appropriate protective clothing and given the necessary equipment and pumper, shall demonstrate the proper testing/tagging of hose and the recording of test test results." Minimum PPE: Helmet and Gloves PERFORMANE andidate must successfully pass this skill in 20 minutes to pass 1. Lays out hose in straight run. 2. Inspects all gaskets before connecting and replaces as needed. 3. Test lengths must be shorter that 300 feet. 4. ompletes all connections. Attaches nozzle. 5. Secures each section of hose with hose straps. 6. Flushes hose of all trapped air, straightens any kinks/twists. 7. Marks each hose jacket at the coupling edge. 8. Sets pump pressure to that specified by current NFPA 1962 for hose testing. 9. Monitors lines for leakage. Maintains appropriate pump pressure for 5 minutes. 10. Ends test, bleeds off lines. 11. Inspects couplings for slippage. Marks test date on hose. 12. Records data, tags sections out of service with unacceptable slippages. " Minimum PPE: Helmet PERFORMANE andidate must successfully pass this skill in 20 minutes to pass 1. andidate verbalizes he or she shall be dressed appropriately. 2. Uses sidewalk, does not walk on lawn 3. Introduces self, states purpose of visit, asks permission to conduct courtesy survey. 4. Verbalizes that if no one home, leaves safety literature between doors 5. Upon invitation, cleans shoes before entering, removes cap if applicable 6. Surveys rooms, one at a time with the occupant noting conditions found that pose a fire or safety risk along the way, offering suggestions for correction 7. Group consist of 10 ub Scouts and 2 adult leaders." Minimum PPE: Helmet PERFORMANE andidate must successfully pass this skill in 20 minutes to pass 1. Secures station for tour. Notifies all appropriate personnel. 2. Has a teaching outline appropriate for the visiting age group. 3. Greets tour members and introduces helpers 4. Explains what will take place and what the role of adults in the group will be during the tour, (i.e. If an alarm comes in, what to do and where to go) 5. Uses appropriate terminology for the age of the group, stays simple and short 6. Provides an overview of the department and the fire service in general 7.
