One of Williams Fire & Hazard Control s earliest inventions was the world s first self-educting nozzle. A nozzle designed to automatically entrain foam within the water stream to more effectively deliver foam to the fire was a breakthrough for fire response in Since then automatic self-proportioning has been engineered into our Hydro-Foam Ranger Series of nozzles. These nozzles cover a wide application gamut from handheld nozzles to nozzles designed for our Big Gun packages that flow upwards of 10,000 gallons per minute! Following the functionality of Hydro-Foam nozzles, Williams Hydro-Chem nozzles again revolutionized firefighting this time for three-dimensional fire response by delivering the otherwise light-in-weight potassium-based powder with great authority by using the velocity of the nozzle s water stream to carry the dry-chemical to the point of attack. The advanced tactical approach of Hydro-Chem nozzle applications makes three-dimensional firefighting quick and efficient! Manufacturing traditional brass and stainless nozzles, Williams Fire & Hazard Control has recently introduced advanced lightweight composites to our nozzle line as well. Williams offers Several Brass Industrial Grade Master Stream nozzles including its earliest self-educting Medium Body HF nozzle. All models maintain straight stream to full fog and flush capabilities, with standard flow rates ranging from gpm. The new SCOUT nozzle is our latest in composite nozzle technology surpassing performance previously found in industry. The lightweight nozzle is capable of self educting foam at 1% and 3% with flow ranges of 350 gpm, 500 gpm, and 700 gpm with flush functionality. This nozzle is aimed at frontline incipient response operations for monitor stations and may be used on apparatus and other quick attack assets. Hydro-Foam delivery devices simplify fire ground logistics. Self-Educting nozzles operate in conjunction with special venturi-type devices (Jet Ratio Controllers) that move large quantities of foam concentrate from remote storage locations. With Hydro- Foam technology, the same firewater system is used to supply both water and foam concentrate to the nozzle. This eliminates the need for more elaborate foam concentrate proportioning and delivery systems which are susceptible to failure. The Hydro-Chem Flex nozzle combines both Hydro-Foam and Hydro- Chem capabilities for fighting standing or pooling flammable liquid fires, with the added power to quickly apply a large volume of dry chemical agent when confronted by three-dimensional fire characteristics. Coupled with our 500 lb dry chemical Gorilla unit, this nozzle offers a powerful resource for industrial and transportation emergencies. PACESETTERS OF INDUSTRY Hydro-Chem Systems use the water/foam streams to propel dry chemical approximately 3-4 times farther than that of conventional dry chemical equipment. The water/foam application initially isolates the 3- dimensional fire, greatly reducing flame intensity. After this reduction in heat, dry chemical is injected into the foam stream, resulting in a more proficient extinguishment of the fire giving the firefighter a safer integrated system of delivering dry chemical into large pressure and flowing fuel fires. Responding to a need to achieve greater reach in tank fire response, The Center Shot nozzle was developed essentially as a Ranger 2.0 Master Stream nozzle capable of flowing up to 2,000 gpm with flush capability that relies on uniquely-designed internal stream straighteners to generate dual stream efficiencies resulting in greater effective straight-stream water foam applications while simultaneously maintaining full fog patterns for personnel safety. The nozzle delivers both foam and drychemical applications, and is adjustable from full fog to straight stream with flush capabilities. A cornerstone to our TYPE III response success is large volume applications that are consistent, reliable and efficient over high pressures and flow rates. This Hybrid nozzle has the unique capability to perform as an automatic pressure or fixed gallonage nozzle. During automatic operation the nozzle will respond to varying flows to maintain a nearly constant tip pressure, thus maximizing effective range for a given discharge flow. This proprietary and patented* method of foam proportioning and delivery is the cornerstone upon which our company has built its reputation. Hydro-Foam technology has been instrumental in Williams Fire & Hazard Control, Inc. s successful extinguishment of numerous large flammable liquid fires over the past several years. These incidents were handled successfully with minimum manpower and equipment, primarily because of the advantages of Hydro-Foam technology. This all-hydraulic system dramatically simplifies the logistics of moving the high quantities of foam concentrate required to extinguish large flammable liquid fires. All advances made in response tactics and equipment over the last 4 decades still rely on one primary resource WATER. Managing water assets, particularly in large industrial responses, is a fundamental component of any Incident Command. When considering all water requirements for even a well-contained industrial incident (a one-tank fire, for example) onsite water reserves are too often depleted crippling the initial attacks(s), and resulting in the spread of the event into something potentially catastrophic. For many reasons, Williams Fire & Hazard Control has been faced with substituting or augmenting water resources for staging an effective response. We have developed and relied on two workhorses for our primary and support firewater pump operations our DependaPower 4000 GPM and DependaPower 6000 GPM pumps. These transportable pumps have been the heart and soul of Williams large volume response tactics all across the globe. A movable water source, Williams has shipped these pumps to major incidents overseas via plane and ship, welded them to decks of barges for offshore support, staged a pump corral to pump 24,000 gallons a minute of water supply for weeks on end to sustain cooling operations for entire facilities following hurricanes in the Gulf South, and dropped them inline of facility water mains to replace fixed pumps damaged by fire and flood. They are indeed a workhorse! Our trailer mounted, diesel driven centrifugal fire water pumping system offer nominal performance. 4,000 and 6,000 gpm units 150 psi net with a 10 lift. Powerful yet mobile, these pumps may be moved from point to point without having to realign the pump coupling. Entire assembly is built on a skid base which also serves as a fuel tank. Submersible pump package offers both industrial and marine operators with 32-psi from open water sources up to 100-ft away from the powerpack, and to an elevation up to 65-ft for dewatering or delivering positive suction supply for relay pumping operations at which point delivery pressures are boosted through to supply. Due to the extreme importance of adequate water support for Attack Cooling Post-incident Vapor Suppression Williams Fire & Hazard Control has also developed ancillary pump equipment to broaden the options for acquiring and relaying water from NEARLY ANY water resource adjacent to a facility. Originally designed to clamp to the top lip of a storage tank for seal fire response, this versatile tool has been clamped to trackhoe buckets, tugboat rails, four-wheelers, bulldozer blades, and used with our thrown-down rails to create a very strong forward position in a response. Dual Agent chamber addresses the hidden dangers found in an internal floating closed roof tank. Our dual agent chamber applies a two-phase agent response to the inside of a closed roof tank: First, a foam application phase extinguishes and secures any surface related fire above the floating pan. The main objective of the Hollow Point system is to improve upon the current method of closed roof storage tank protection by using carefully engineered discharge tip sizes and designs coupled with an efficient air aspirator and a favorable flow rate to project foam toward the center and left and right along the tank wall. Dual Agent chamber addresses the hidden dangers found in an internal floating closed roof tank. Our dual agent chamber applies a two-phase agent response to the inside of a closed roof tank: First, a foam application phase extinguishes and secures any surface related fire above the floating pan. The second phase dry-chemical burst expels residual flammable vapor above the pan and the foam blanket to inhibit re-ignition.
