11 Specifications FSX The K series cameras are equipped with FSX(Flexible Scene Enhancement): FSX is an advanced non-linear image-processing algorithm. FSX preserves detail in high dynamic range images. FSX extracts image details, such as edges and corners, from the original image. These details are weighted and combined with the original image. The result is an image with enhanced detail. Figure 8 Left: Image without FSX. Right: Image with FSX - Product training FLIR K series for firefighters(k45, K55, K65) Publ. No. T560489_35773_en-US_

24 Camera modes The K series cameras have five modes for different purposes and tasks. Figure 19 The five different camera modes They differ in the use of temperature ranges and heat colorization. Temperature ranges: Low sensitivity: 0 to +650 C(observe the indicator to the upper left). High sensitivity: 20 to +150 C. Modes with green icons: Automatic range selection. Modes with blue icons: Temperature range is locked to high sensitivity. Heat colorization: Above a certain temperature, colors are used to visualize intervals of higher(and equal) temperatures. - Product training FLIR K series for firefighters(k45, K55, K65) Publ. No. T560489_35773_en-US_
25 Temperature range Low sensitivity: 0 to +650 C. High-temperature details are visible. High sensitivity: 20 to +150 C. Low-temperature details are visible. For different types of operation, one temperature range will be more suitable than the other. Figure 20 Low- and high-sensitivity range - Product training FLIR K series for firefighters(k45, K55, K65) Publ. No. T560489_35773_en-US_
26 Heat colorization Thermal images from the K series cameras use a grayscale. Heat colorization adds information about temperature. Above a threshold temperature, one or more colors are added. The additional color(s) allows hot spots or areas to be localized faster and more precisely: a. Threshold temperature. b. Lower-temperature range limit. c. Upper-temperature range limit. d. Maximum temperature in the scene. e.hottestareas:20%ofthescene. Figure 21 Principle of heat colorization - Product training FLIR K series for firefighters(k45, K55, K65) Publ. 27 Heat colorization a. Grayscale image: Intuitive and simple image. Some details. b. Heat colorization with several colors: Region of interest showing a lot of detail. c. Heat colorization with one color: Extremely obvious location of the hottest region No details for high temperatures.
