2 Introducing Mixology by Crossville Artistic New Tile Series Replicates Cast Metal with 50 Percent Post-consumer Recycled Content Crossville is pleased to introduce Mixology: a new metal line that s been painstakingly crafted by Crossville artisans to replicate cast metal sculptural pieces as affordable and earth-friendly tile. Each of the exquisitely wrought tiles contains a minimum of 50 percent post-consumer recycled content, making the line not only an attractive choice, but the responsible choice for our environment. Seven field tile designs in two sizes 4" x 4" and 6" x 6", plus 10 trim options and two random mosaics are available in four distinctive finishes, providing 98 pieces to mix and match for commercial or residential installations. To allow customers to experience all the possible design combinations, Crossville has created Mixology and Match, an interactive design tool on Crossville s website at crossvilleinc.com/mixology. Mixology was designed for interior and exterior, vertical applications. The tile and trim are especially suitable for accent walls and molding, ceiling trim, chair rails, window and door borders, countertop edging, backsplashes, showers and other wet interior wall areas, fireplace surrounds; the applications are virtually unlimited. All tile and trim in the Mixology line are given a protective, clear coating to ensure a durable, virtually maintenance-free finish. Mixology combines the beauty of real metal accent and trim pieces with a dimensional composite body, which means that although it has the look of heavy metal, it is actually lightweight and easy to install.

V1 = Uniform Appearance V2 = Slight Variation V3 = Moderate Variation V4 = Substantial Variation: Differences among pieces from the same production run are minimal. Clearly distinguishable texture and/or pattern within similar colors. While the colors present on a single piece of tile will be indicative of the colors to be expected on the other tiles, the amount of colors on each piece may vary significantly. Random color differences from tile to tile, so one may have totally different colors from those on other tiles.

9 Mixology installation & maintenance Mixology wall tiles and trim are suitable for interior and exterior vertical applications including kitchen backsplashes, bathroom and shower walls, fireplace surrounds and feature walls. Mixology is not recommended for swimming pools. Special installation considerations apply to backsplash applications behind cooktops or fireplace surrounds. Mixology wall tiles and trim can be mounted with latex-portland cement mortars, epoxy adhesives or Type 1 organic adhesives, depending upon the application. For complete installation instructions, please refer to the Resources and Technical Information section of crossvilleinc.com. Installation Procedures: Follow the installation procedures outlined in the Handbook for Ceramic Tile Installation published by the Tile Council of North America. Ensure that wall surfaces to be tiled are free of curing membranes, oil, grease, wax, and dust and that they are smooth and level, with variations of no more than 1/8 in 8 for all types of setting materials. Extend the tile work into recesses and under and behind equipment and fixtures except where otherwise noted. Fit tile to electrical outlets, piping, fixtures and other penetrations so that plates, collars, or covers overlap tile. For best results, back butter tile and press into mortar. Do not beat-in with the butt end of the trowel. Assure that wall joints are straight with uniform grout lines that are level and plumb; and that floor joints are straight with uniform grout lines parallel to the walls. Maintain area temperature above 50 during installation and for seven days after completion unless higher temperatures are specified in the manufacturer s instructions. Do not stack tiles on top of each other. Do not lay tiles face down. Do not cut tiles face down. Grouting Materials and Methods: When grouting, use unsanded, commercial latex-portland cement grout suitable for the area of use. For some applications, a bead of colored silicone can be used as an alternative to grout. Follow grout manufacturer s instructions on grouting procedures and precautions. Test grout on a separate sample area before grouting to determine suitability of the grout. Remove grout haze. Do not use abrasive cleaners, powders, scouring pads, steel wool, sandpaper, etc. or damage to the finish will occur. Thoroughly rinse tile work with clean water. Use a soft cloth to polish the completed work. Cleaning Procedures Regular cleaning is the best way to keep Mixology tile looking good for years to come. Use clean hot water (combined with a liquid non-abrasive household cleaner for more aggressive cleaning). Do not clean with scouring pads, steel wool or other abrasive implements. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth to prevent spots. More information regarding the care and maintenance of Crossville products is available at crossvilleinc.com.
