3 YOU SHOULD KNOW These instructions serve as a guide. The responsibility for recognizing and compensating for field conditions is with the installer. Thoroughly read all instructions before starting on your project. If you have any questions, contact us Toll Free at Handle your EccoTone Acoustic Wood Panels with care. Avoid excessive handling of the panels. The more they are handled, the greater the chance they will be damaged. Do not use a utility knife when opening your acoustic panel boxes. Avoid contact with sharp objects or edges. The panel finishes are durable, but will not withstand encounters with sharp objects. If the panels are installed on a wall that is not plumb, misalignment will be apparent. Care should be taken in laying out panel placement and in preparing the wall surface before installation. A majority of installation problems occur due to lack of preparation prior to installation of the mounting hardware. Always be aware of electric and plumbing lines within the wall/ceiling assemblies. We highly recommend shutting off electricity within the room you are working on. Always wear protective eye gear and gloves when installing our products... safety first!

4 TONGUE AND GROOVE FURRING STRIP MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS Wall Installation Instructions Tools needed: Drill or Screw Gun, Level, Straight Edge, Tape Measure, Pencil, Chalk Line (for large installs) 1. Using a pencil, tape measure, chalk line and level, carefully render the acoustic wood panel layout on the wall, identifying the top of the panels by drawing a line or tick mark. 2. Measure the distance from the top of the acoustic wood panel down to the top of the groove of the furring strip. See diagram below. Incorporate these measurements in the acoustic wood panel layout on the wall by drawing a line or tick mark.? Please Note: When installing acoustic wood panels onto the wall, make sure they are supported by a wall stud. If unable to mount the acoustic wood panel on a stud please use included plastic drywall anchors. 3. Using a level, align the included tongue and groove furring strip, groove side up, wider side toward the wall so that the bottom of the groove is aligned with the mark(s) made in Step 2. See diagram below.? wall 4. Hang panel by inserting tongue and groove furring strip into the strip on the wall. Repeat as needed

Measure the distance from the top of the acoustic wood panel down to the bottom of the furring strip. See diagram below. Subtract 5/16 (groove depth) from the distance. 6 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE All acoustic wood panels are subject to soiling and wear. A regular maintenance program, initiated at the earliest time after installation, will prevent staining from soil and dirt build up. Preventative maintenance adjacent to HVAC vents is especially advisable. Regular vacuuming will maintain the acoustic wood panels performance by keeping the perforations open. Clean all of our acoustic wood panels with water based cleaning agents. Blot the soiled areas with a damp cloth containing the water and soap solution. Do not over wet. Test any cleaning agents on an inconspicuous area of the panel before applying the solution to the rest of the surface. Acoustic wood panels are typically not recommended for areas where excessive soiling may occur, however, if any contact with grease and oil occurs, the panel should be cleaned immediately. Cleaning agents used on the panels should not contain alcohol, strong alkalis or solvents, which can damage the panel
