SmartSoak Residential Stormwater Management System
SmartSoak Presenting a new way to deal with stormwater runoff from residential properties. In a smart, easy and cost effective kit, the system contains all the components needed to attenuate stormwater from an individual residential site. Hidden underground, stores runoff from the impermeable surfaces in a series of modules wrapped in a geotextile fabric where it slowly soaks away into the surrounding soils and/or is released through an orifice. Using the innovative Linear Access pipes, is a maintainable system which will not silt up over time, like traditional gravel soakage stormwater pits and buried crate systems. is smart, cost effective and compact; boasting a 95% void ratio compared with traditional soakage aggregate pits with a void ratio of 30-40% which are not able to be maintained. The modules are pre-approved by council* which streamlines the consenting process of the developer and project engineer. Available in 3 standard sizes to suit property requirements, the system can be easily installed anywhere on the property. The modules are trafficable meaning they can be installed under driveways and parking areas, providing there is a minimum of 600mm of cover. SMARTSOAK KIT - Standard Sizes Code Product Tank Size Modules m3 System 2.0 x x m3 System 2.8 x x m3 System 4.0 x x m3 System 5.2 x x modules and linear access technology hold pre-approval certification from Auckland and Hamilton City Councils. At present, these are the only councils requiring formal approval for underground stormwater devices.
SmartSoak Utilised in 3 ways! The primary function of is the management of storm runoff from impermeable surfaces. Sump Soakage System Modules wrapped in DuraForce AS410 Geotextile Inspection Cap Permeable Soils Soakage Rainwater is collected in modules and allowed to soak into the surrounding soil over a period of time after the storm has finished. A course screen filter is recommended to catch larger objects from blocking the system. Impermeable Liner where required Sump Detention System Modules wrapped in DuraForce AS410 Geotextile Inspection Cap Controlled Discharge via Orifice Detention Stormwater is collected in detention module and released at a reduced rate through a flow control orifice into an appropriate outflow pipe. This reduces peak flows from the site, thereby minimising the risk of flooding, erosion and potentially deferring the need to replace hydraulically inadequate stormwater pipes. Sump Reuse System Modules wrapped in impermeable PVC liner with DuraForce AS410 Geotextile on each side of the liner. Reuse Inspection Cap Reuse Rainwater from roofs is directed to modules located beneath driveways, lawns and other trafficable or non trafficable surfaces. A coarse screen filter is recommended to remove leaves and rubbish from inflows, thereby protecting the Soakage modules from blocking. Water collected in the tank is suitable for garden watering, laundry use and toilet flushing. For more information on the Stormwater Soakage System Contact us 0800 CIRTEX I INFO@CIRTEX.CO.NZ I

Installation SmartSoak Soakage System STEP 1 STEP 2 Excavate the trench to the required dimensions ensuring excavation footprint is wide enough to allow for small compactor around the edge of the modules. Trench depth must allow for 600mm cover over the modules for trafficable applications and 450mm for non-trafficable applications. Place, level and compact mm of bedding material consisting of course sand or free draining aggregate with a maximum particle size of 20mm at base of excavation. STEP 3 Line base and sides of excavation with DuraForce AS410 Non-Woven Geotextile. STEP 4 Assemble modules including the 3 linear-access modules using a rubber mallet. Ensure correct orientation of small plates as per image, ellipse shape must be vertical not horizontal. A = Small Plates A = Large Plates A STEP 5 A Insert perforated pipes into the linear-access modules with the perforations facing upwards. A For more information on the Stormwater Soakage System Contact us 0800 CIRTEX I INFO@CIRTEX.CO.NZ I
For impermeable system installation contact 0800 CIRTEX ( ) or STEP 6 Place sumps, and connect inlet and linear-access pipes by cutting holes in sumps and sealing. STEP 7 Lower the linear-access module row into the excavation, and place standard modules to complete the system configuration. Cable ties can be used to stabilise modules if required. STEP 8 ackfill sides of tank with coarse sand or free draining aggregate with maximum particle size 20mm. Compact side backfill using plate compactor or vibratory tamper. STEP 9 Wrap DuraForce AS410 geotextile over the tank, ensuring minimum 300mm overlap of Geotextile. STEP 10 Place and compact backfill on top of modules. Ensure minimum 600mm of granular material for trafficable applications or 450mm of fill material for non-trafficable applications. (Nontrafficable application pictured)
