5 SOLID sand-cast bronze: UNMATCHED QUALITY WHY SOLID BRONZE? The outdoor landscape is a harsh environment. Lighting fixtures must endure heat and cold; moisture and drought; rain and snow; acid and alkaline soils; and all sorts of physical and chemical abuse. Bronze is the only metal that withstands these challenges. It never corrodes, chips, cracks, or breaks. It is also the most beautiful metal, aging naturally to a fine patina, blending gracefully into the landscape. 36 CAST SPIDER SPLICE (CSS1) The CAST Spider Splice is an important part of the CAST system of installation. It is an enclosure for wire splices easily accessible for voltage testing and troubleshooting. Used in combination with pre-wired CAST luminaires, the Spider Splice greatly simplifies installation. The bronze cap is marked with the wire run number for ease of identification and system maintenance. These conditions can compromise any wire connections that are exposed or buried in the soil. Still, periodic maintenance is required to replace lamps and adjust luminaire placement and aiming. The success of this long-term maintenance is assured through use of the exclusive CAST Fixture Record Tag. CAST Fixture Record Tag* (CABFR) The CAST Fixture Record Tag is an exclusive innovation from CAST Lighting. It is a stamped copper plate affixed to CAST luminaires with a stainless steel ring. When a contractor installs a luminaire, he or she uses a center punch (CPUNCH) to mark lamp type, transformer number, and wire run number. This information is critical for proper system maintenance. It ensures that lamp replacements are correct and facilitates troubleshooting. Without charge, CAST Lighting will either repair or replace (CAST Lighting reserves the right to decide between repair or replacement) any properly installed CAST Lighting product which fails under normal operating conditions and has not undergone abuse beyond normal wear-and-tear within the specified warranty period. A Return Goods Authorization (RGA) must be issued by CAST Lighting prior to the return of any product. This warranty does not cover damage due to acts of nature such as lightning strikes, hurricanes, tornados, and floods. It covers only equipment manufactured or sold by CAST Lighting. It does not apply to any equipment of another manufacturer that may have been used in conjunction with CAST Lighting equipment. CAST Lighting is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages in the connection with use of equipment, including but not limited to damage or injury to vegetation, property or persons resulting from installers actions whether negligent or otherwise. CAST Lighting does not provide compensation for transportation, labor, or any other charges incurred in the diagnosis, repair, or replacement of CAST Lighting products. Installers are encouraged to contact CAST Lighting or its distributors to help diagnose problems before incurring such expenses.
