WATER INSTALLATION GUIDE
Before you begin: Your dispenser has two lines attached to it. The HOUSE WATER LINE attaches to your house s water supply. The REFRIGERATOR WATER LINE attaches to your refrigerator (if you have an ice maker). HOUSE WATER LINE Items Needed for Installation: Flat Blade Screwdriver A Pair of Pliers A Wrench A Bucket A Towel Note: It s a good idea to clean the outside of your refrigerator with mild dish detergent and water before installing dispenser. REFRIGERATOR WATER LINE Step 1: Warning Step 2: Slide your refrigerator out to access water connections behind it, then unplug it from the wall. Excessive Weight Hazard Use two or more people to move and install refrigerator. Failure to do so can result in back or other injury. WARNING WARNING Find the water shutoff valve for your HOUSE WATER SUPPLY and turn it off. If your refrigerator does not have an ice maker, skip to step 5. Electrical Shock Hazard. Disconnect power before servicing. Replace all parts and panels before operating. Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or electrical shock. 2
Step 3: Step 4: Step 5: Find the HOUSE WATER LINE that runs between the HOUSE WATER SUPPLY and your refrigerator and disconnect it at the refrigerator end. Place the HOUSE WATER LINE that you just disconnected from the refrigerator into a bucket to empty any excess water from the water line. Route the WATER LINES through the prongs on the back of the dispenser and mount the dispenser to the front or side of your refrigerator using the built in magnets. If hanging on front of fridge, place it 2-3 inches from the hinge side so tubing can move freely. Step 6: Mount the tubing holders to the side of your refrigerator 2-3 inches from the front and back of your refrigerator. Then run the WATER LINES through the holders. Step 7: Decide how you want to connect your dispenser to your HOUSE WATER SUPPLY. You may either connect directly to the HOUSE WATER SUPPLY (follow 7a) or connect to an existing HOUSE WATER LINE (follow 7b). See following page for detail on both methods. 3
INSTALLATION OPTIONS: Step 7a: Connect Directly to HOUSE WATER SUPPLY (REMOVE Straight Connector) Disconnect any existing hoses from your HOUSE WATER SUPPLY. Unscrew the straight connector from the HOUSE WATER LINE. (Warning: Straight connector may be very tight. Use pliers and wrench if needed to unscrew. Never cut the house water line tubing. Doing so may cause leaks). Attach the HOUSE WATER LINE to the HOUSE WATER SUPPLY. Use hand to tighten the nut, then use wrench to give it a half turn. Step 7b: Connect Directly to An Existing HOUSE WATER LINE (RETAIN Straight Connector) Disconnect the existing HOUSE WATER LINE from the back of the refrigerator (you have already done this if you followed Step 3). Leave the existing hose connected to the HOUSE WATER SUPPLY. Attach the existing HOUSE WATER LINE (that you just disconnected from the back of the refrigerator) to the straight connector on the HOUSE WATER LINE. Use hand to tighten the nut, then use wrench to give it half turn. 4
