Shoreline Area Feasibility Study/Remedial Action Plan (FS/RAP) Draft FS/RAP evaluates cleanup options and identifies a proposed plan to address soil impacts and naturally occurring asbestos (NOA) Cleanup options evaluated using established criteria, including: Overall protection of human health and the environment Long term effectiveness Ease of implementability Draft FS/RAP submitted to DTSC for review A draft FS/RAP for Shoreline Area has been submitted to DTSC for review Public comment will open in Nov. 2014
Shoreline Area Cleanup Options CLEANUP OPTIONS EVALUATED Soil Removal, Backfill and Shoreline Surface Restoration Removing shallow impacted soil in the six impacted areas and backfilling where needed. Shoreline restoration will provide long-term protection against NOA. Soil Containment, Removal, Backfill and Shoreline Surface Restoration Containing (by covering) impacted soil in two areas and removing shallow impacted soil in the other four areas and backfilling where needed. Shoreline restoration will provide long-term protection against NOA. No Action Leaving the Shoreline Area as is (required by DTSC for comparison purposes)
