Lacy, I have forwarded to Terry Whitely and to Rick Bruder the letter you sent, per your request. At this point in the design we have followed contract/plan documents issued by the architect. We have designed the system based on those documents. After researching this what I believe is that we were under the 2006 IFC which had an exception for A-3 that stated: Areas used as sports areas where the main floor area is located at the same level as level of exit discharge of the main entrance and exit did not have to be sprinkled. We adopted 009 IFC on November 1, 2012 due to the State mandating the adoption of this code. In the 2009 edition of the IFC that exception was removed. Since this project was not started a reasonable time after the review meeting then the proj falls under newly adopted code which is the 2009 edition the International Fire Code. I hope this clears things up if not feel free to contact me or have the architect contact me and can try to it better. Thank You Rick Bruder

Rick Bruder Fire Plans Examiner City of Tulsa August 28, 2014 Dear Rick, On September 21, 2011, a predevelopment meeting concerning the Lafortune Park Tennis Center was held with key City of Tulsa staff. Yuen Ho, Paul Enix, Terry Whitley, Michael Woody (Tulsa County Park Department) and James Kilman, Roger Coffey and Gary McCormick (architectural design team) were in attendance. The drawings reviewed at that meeting, were the same as those issued for construction with only very minor changes. The recommendations made at the conclusion of the meeting were incorporated in the construction drawing AI. I Code Summary Plan. During the permitting process, an additional exiting path plan was issued. It was our understanding that an automatic sprinkler system would not be required above the actual playing area of the indoor courts.
