GX*****H/Z/P/F***** according to IECEx certificate IECEx BVS 10.008 (certificate number on the type label) and for all instruments with the number of the safety instruction (37675) on the type label. 2 General information The differential pressure transmitters series VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** are used for monitoring or control also in areas with combustible, dust generating bulk solids. The VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** consist of a differential pressure transmitter unit (sensor), a metal process connection element and a processing electronics in a metal housing. An indicating and adjustment module can be optionally mounted into VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/ F*****. The VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** are suitable for use in hazardous atmospheres of all combustible dusts, for applications requiring instruments of category zone 20, zone 20/21 or zone 21. If the VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** are installed and operated in hazardous areas, the general Ex installation regulations IEC 60079-14 as well as these safety instructions must be observed. The requirements of IEC 61241-1 e.g. with respect to dust and temperatures must be fulfilled. The operating instructions as well as the applicable, valid Ex mounting regulations and standards for electrical equipment must be observed. The installation of explosion-endangered systems must always be carried out by qualified personnel. 2.1 Zone 20 instruments The VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** are installed in hazardous areas requiring instruments of zone 20. 2.2 Zone 20/21 instruments In applications as zone 20/21 instrument, VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** are installed in the separating wall separating areas from each other in which zone 21 or zone 20 instruments are required. The electronics housing is in the hazardous area requiring a zone 21 instrument and the sensor is in the hazardous area requiring a zone 20 instrument. 2.3 Zone 21 instruments The VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** are installed in hazardous areas requiring instruments of zone 21. These intrinsically safe circuits are connected to terminals located in the "Ex-i" connection compartment. VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z***** Power supply and signal circuit: (terminals 1[+], 2[-] in electronics compartment; with double chamber housing version in connection compartment) In ignition protection type intrinsic safety Ex ia IIC For connection to a certified, intrinsically safe circuit. Maximum values: U i = 30 V I i = 131 ma P i = 983 mw The effective internal capacitance is C i = 5 nf. The effective internal inductance L i is negligibly small. VEGADF DF65.GX*****P/F***** Power supply and signal circuit: (terminals 1[+], 2[-] in electronics compartment; with double chamber housing version in connection compartment) In ignition protection type intrinsic safety Ex ia IIC/IIB for instruments of zone 0 resp. zone 1 and Ex ia IIC/ IIB resp. Ex ib IIC/IIB for instruments of zone 1. For connection to a certified, intrinsically safe circuit. Maximum values: U i = 17.5 V I i = 500 ma P i = 5.5 W The instrument is suitable for connection to a Fieldbus system according to the FISCO model (IEC 60079-27), e.g. Profibus PA or Foundation Fieldbus. or U i = 24 V I i = 250 ma P i = 1.2 W The effective internal capacitance is C i = 5 nf. The effective internal inductance L i is negligibly small. 4 VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F*****
VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** Indicating and adjustment circuit: (terminals 5, 6, 7, 8 in electronics compartment) Communication circuit: (I²C-BUS socket in electronics compartment; with double chamber housing version also in connection compartment) Circuit of the indicating and adjustment module: (spring contacts in the electronics compartment; with double chamber housing version also in the connection compartment) In ignition protection type intrinsic safety Ex ia IIC Only for connection to the intrinsically safe supply and signal cuitcuit of the corresponding external indicating and adjustment unit VEGADIS 61 (IECEx BVS 06.0014). The regulations for the interconnection of intrinsically safe circuits between VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/ F***** and the external indication unit are complied with if the total inductance and total capacity of the connection cable between VEGADIF DF65. GX*****H/Z/P/F***** and the external indication unit (L cable = 100 µh and C cable = 2.8 µf) are not exceeded. The indication and adjustment module integrated in VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** and the connected interface converter are taken into account. In ignition protection type intrinsic safety Ex ia IIC Only for connection to the intrinsically safe signal circuit of an interface converter VEGACONNECT. In ignition protection type intrinsic safety Ex ia IIC Only for connection to the indicating and adjustment module PLICSCOM. With the double chamber housing version, the indicating and adjustment module may be mounted either in the electronics compartment or in the connection compartment. The intrinsically safe supply and signal circuit of VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** is galvanically separated from parts that can be grounded. The metallic parts of the VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** are electrically connected with the earth terminals. 4 Application conditions 4.1 Permissible ambient temperatures On the sensor, zone 20 or 21 VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** -40 +120 C On the electronics housing, zone 20 or zone 21 VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** -40 +60 C VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** 5
4.2 Max. surface temperature On the sensor, zone 20 or 21 VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** Process temperature +3 K On the electronics housing, zone 20 or zone 21 VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** Process temperature +9 K 4.3 Permissible process pressure on the sensor The process pressure during operation in an explosive atmosphere requiring a zone 20 instrument must be between 0.8 1.1 bar. The permissible combinations of application pressure and application temperature are stated in the operating instructions. 4.4 Protection rating Housing protection rating, housing in zone 20 or zone 21: IP 66 Sensor in zone 20 or zone 21: IP 67/IP 68 5 Cable entries The cable entry sent with the delivery is suitable for the housing temperature range specified in the VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** certificate. If a different cable entry is used, the separately certified cable entry/gland (according to ATEX) determines the max. permissible ambient temperature on the housing (max. values: -40 C, +98 C). 6 Installation, mounting The VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** as zone 20, 20/21 instruments must be installed in a way that excludes contact between the sensor and the vessel wall, taking vessel installations and the bulk solid in the vessel into account. 7 Grounding The VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** must be grounded, for example via the ground connection terminal. 8 Material resistance The VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F***** must only be used in media against which the materials of the wetted parts are sufficiently resistant. 6 VEGADIF DF65.GX*****H/Z/P/F*****
