Invitation It is with pleasure that we invite you to participate in the International Workshop on Dissemination of Research Results, which will be held in the Research Institute for Animal Production in Nitra, Slovak Republic, from the 29 th April to the 1 st May 2004. The Workshop is organised as part of the project Orientation of Animal Agricultural Research towards Sustainable Rural Development and the Integration of Research within pe (ANIMAGRESINTEGR) co-ordinated by the Research Institute for Animal Production, Nitra, in the Fifth Framework Programme of the pean Community for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration Activities. The aim of the Workshop The main aim of the Workshop is to enhance the exchange of scientific knowledge on methods used for the dissemination of research results into practice under the conditions of the enlarged pean Union. Topics to be discussed during the Workshop are: Planning of research projects, including participation of users of the results. Contributions of users in financing the projects. How research results are disseminated into practice. Research results in the context of farming systems. Communication among researchers, farmers and other stakeholders, extension services, governmental and other bodies with an interest in dissemination of research results or knowledge transfer. Extension service systems in agriculture. Experts from research and extension organisations, equipment manufacturers, government bodies and managers of large-scale farms are invited to participate in the Workshop. See you in Nitra! Registration To register for the Workshop, and for the accompanying persons programme, please fill in the attached form and send it to the Workshop secretariat. Please indicate in the registration form your preferred hotel. Available hotel rooms will be assigned to participants on a first come, first served basis. If all available hotel rooms in a certain category are full, the nearest hotel will be automatically assigned. Registration forms may be sent by mail, fax or e-mail to the organising secretariat. Transportation will be by coach. Cost of the excursion is 50 per person. Accompanying persons programme Thursday, April 29, 2004 Visit to a chateau, a stud farm, and a pean buffalo (zubor) reservation. All are located in the picturesque town of Topolčianky, 40 km from Nitra. Friday, April 30, 2004 Sightseeing in Nitra City. General information Language The official language during the Workshop will be English. Simultaneous translation into Slovak will be also available. Proceedings Proceedings will be distributed at the Workshop. Short papers can also be published in the Proceedings. Authors should send their manuscripts, maximum 3 pages in Times New Roman 12, spacing 1.5, not later than March 15, 2004. Venue Sessions of the Workshop will take place in the conference room of the Research Institute for Animal Production, Nitra. Nitra is a historic city located in Western Slovakia, approximately 80 km from the capital Bratislava. How to reach Nitra: By car, you can drive southeast from the capital Bratislava. To use Slovak motorways you must buy a Slovak motorway licence. From Bratislava Airport, you can take a taxi to Bratislava Central Bus Station and, from there, take a bus to Nitra. From Nitra Central Bus Station you can take a taxi to your hotel. From Vienna airport, you can travel by bus to Bratislava Central Bus Station and proceed as above. From Bratislava Central Railway Station you can take a taxi to Bratislava Central Bus Station and proceed as above. For persons who are reluctant to change transport several times, the organisers offer the option of transportation from the Botel Gracia in Bratislava. You can get there by taxi.
