TECHNICAL APPENDIX I ACC10 - CONSTANT TEMPERATURE VALVE ACTUATOR The ACC10 controller is intended for achieving constant temperature control for biomass boiler systems, i.e. controlling the water temperature as it enters the boiler. The ACC10 controls the automatic operation of the mixing valve. It is complete with an in-built digital display which displays both controller set-up and temperature information. TECHNICAL APPENDIX II SCC40 CONSTANT TEMPERTURE CONTROLLER The SCC40 controller is intended for constant boiler return-pipe temperature control and storage tank loading. SCC controllers are applicable for all kinds of solid fuel and pellet boiler systems with the ability to manage layered storage tank loading. Layered storage tank loading increases energy gain at boiler start-up and consequentially increases loading of the heating system. These controllers are simple to install and use with the settings configured via a commissioning wizard and a digital graphical interface. TECHNICAL APPENDIX III BIOMASS BOILER TO CYLINDER LOADING PUMP A simple and compact thermostatic unit complete with recirculation pump that connects a solid fuel heater (pellets, wood, chips ) to one or more hot water tanks and is an effective anti-condensation / anti-thermal shock system that uses the maximum return of the heater to obtain energy-saving results. The unit keeps the boiler area at highest possible temperature in a manner that stops the formation of acid condensate and guarantees stratified filling of the accumulation tank without mixing water internally. The thermostatic elements used have different opening temperatures that range from 63 to 87 C. In addition, the natural circulation between heater and storage can be put to good use even when the pump is stopped. This is an important feature that ensures the heater is provided with a minimum flow of cooling water in the event of a failure of the electricity supply. Installation Guide : Operation Guide : STARTING THE HEATER The heater is at a temperature of below 78 C. The cartridge has not started opening yet. The self-recirculation valve cone seals delivery to the tank thanks to the pump pressure. MIXING The heater has reached its working temperature, approx. 85 C. The cartridge opens and allows cold water to enter from the tank. The mixed water at the bottom of the heater has a temperature of around 70 C. When the heater power, therefore the temperature, increases in the loading pump body, the cartridge opens to allow more cold water to enter.. FULL OPENING When the heater is completely full, boiling water enters from the cold section of the body In this case the piston opens fully towards the tank, completely closing the passage towards the high part of the heater. The whole flow now passes through the tank. This operation is extremely important because it is essential for completely filling the tanks. SELF-RECIRCULATION If the current going towards the pump is stopped for some reason, or if the pump is faulty, the non-return valve that is integrated for selfrecirculation opens, allowing the water to circulate naturally between the heater and the tank. This stops the water from boiling in the heater if the tank is not completely full. If the power is disconnected for long periods, the heater can still be switched on to heat the dwelling. It also avoids the risk of the heater water being directly consumed and the associated dangers.
