INSTRUCTION MNUL IM425-U v3.1 EMM-R3-V EMM-µ3-V MULTIFUNCTION VOLT/MMETER GENERL Te digital Multifunction Volt/mmeter series EMM-V allow monitoring te main electrical parameters present on a distribution line. Te local display of te electrical parameters is being made troug 3 display wit red LED, wic grant a good and simultaneous reading of various measures. Te intuitive selection of te measures to visualise, wic are signalled by teir corresponding LED, completes a clear and simple front panel, wic offer a lot of useful information. On top of te instantaneous measuring, tese instruments visualise te maximum pea of te main parameters (maximum pea and maximum demand or maximum average value). Multifunction Volt/mmeter series EMM-V replace, in an unique device, all te functions of voltmeters, ammeters and frequency meters, permitting a great economic saving, due to reducing of dimension and wiring, so as optimising te instruments management, since one as most of all in one, for electrical boards, switc-boards and Gen-Sets. INSTLLTION WRNING FOR THE USER Read carefully te instructions/indications contained in tis manual before installing and using te instrument. Te instrument described in tis manual is intended for use by properly trained staff only. SFETY Tis instrument as been manufactured and tested in compliance wit EN 61010-1 standards. In order to maintain tese conditions and to ensure safe operation, te person must comply wit te indications and marings contained in te manual. Wen te instrument is received, before beginning installation, cec tat it's OK nd it as not suffered any damage during transport. Wen starting installations mae sure tat te operating voltage and mains voltages are compatible wit te device instructions. Te instrument power supply must not be earten. Only qualified and autorised personnel must carry out maintenance and/or repair. If tere is ever te suspicious tat, tat tere is a lac of safety, during operation, te instrument must be disconnected and cautions taen against accidental use. Operation is no longer safe wen: Te instrument doesn't wor. - Tere is clearly visible damage. - fter serious damage incurred during transport. - fter a storage under unfavourable conditions. WIRING For a correct use of te device, te wiring diagram contained in te present manual must be respected. Te connections are available on te screw terminal: - uxiliary power supply: Te power supply is tae from voltage inputs. Tere are 3 different auxiliary supplies: Vn 110V = 100-125V 50-60 (option C2) Vn 230V = 220-240V 50-60 (option C1) Vn 400V = 380-415V 50-60 (standard) In te standard version te voltage is 400V and it s taen between te pases -. In te following table it s possible to see te measurable voltage depending of te type of power supply. Power supply terminals Rated voltage Range of measurable voltage 400V 300 500V pase to pase (175 290V pase-neutral) - (pase to pase power supply) 230V 175 290V pase to pase (130 170V pase-neutral) 110V 85 145V pase to pase (50 85V pase-neutral) 230V 300 500V pase to pase (175 290V pase-neutral) -N (pase neutral power supply) 110V 175 290V pase to pase (100 170V pase-neutral) Te standard version allows applying te instrument at all te tree-pase networ 400V wit or witout neutral supplied. For example for application on single pase 230V it will need te -N / 230V. Wile for applications in medium voltage (for example using external voltage transformer 15 / 0.1 V pase to pase) it will need te version - / 110V. - measuring voltage inputs: 4 terminals are available for te connection to te 3 pase and neutral of te measuring networ, te maximum voltage pase to pase souldn't be over 500 V rms and it will always be depending on te auxiliary power supply. In case of a 3 pase system witout neutral, or non-distributed neutral, to leave terminal N free. It s possible to use external voltage transformer. In fact te transformation rate of te external transducer can be set in te SETUP of te instrument and te visualisation allows te reading of voltage up to 40,0 V. - measuring current inputs: 4 terminals are available for te connection to 3 external CT s wit secondary 5, it s possible to use 2 CT s on 3 wires system (tree pases aron wiring). Te use of external CT s is absolutely required. Te transformation rate of te external transducer can be set in te SETUP of te instrument and te visualisation allows te reading of current up to 9,99. NOTE: It's a must to respect te pase sequence. Te connections between current and voltage pase inputs must not be inverted (for example, CT placed on pase must correspond to te I1 input). So as it is not correct to invert and S2 terminals. To fix te device at te panel, insert te two bracets into teir corresponding grove oles, at te side of te enclosure and fix up te screws. It s better to put an external protection wit fuses for te voltage inputs and to use adapted cables for te woring currents and voltages: section from 0.5 to 2.5 mm 2. Te DO1 and DO2 digital outputs can be used to signal alarms (LR) using a comparing wit two adjustable tresold for eac output. Te DO1 modality setting is independent from DO2. In te menu SET DO1 and SET DO2 it s possible to program te function of all digital outputs. In tese menus are available te following modality: LR SYS 3PH and LR SYS 123. Wit LR SYS 3PH te digital output will function as alarm verifying tat te tree pase value (average) doesn t exceed te tresold set (LR HI and LR LO). Wit LR PH_ 123 te digital output will function as alarm verifying tat te maximum value of te single pases doesn t exceed te maximum tresold set (LR HI) and tat te minimum value of te single pases doesn t come down te minimum tresold set (LR LO). VISULISING THE INSTNTNEOUS ND VERGE PEK (MXIMUM) VLUES By pressing te and B eys simultaneously, te instrument enters into te visualisation of te pea (maximum) values: Te LED D will glow. Te memorised pea (maximum) values, wic migt be selected by te B ey, E D will be sown on te display E. MX Te indication of te value and te value itself will be visualised alternatively -2 on te display E. If no ey is pressed during an interval of time of 10 seconds, te instrument -3 will return automatically to te visualisation of measures. Tere are two types of te maximum memorised values: Te instantaneous maximum memorised value is te maximum reaced value of te parameter, during 1-second al least. Te average maximum values (maximum demand) memorise te maximum average value of te parameter, reaced during te average time. Te integration for calculating te average values is syncronised every time tat te instrument is switced on. During te visualisation of te maximum memorised values, te values are visualised by alternating te indication of te visualised parameter wit te measured values. Te maximum values of te parameters, wic are selectable wit te B ey, are as follows: Parameter Display Signalling LED maximum instantaneous PE HI minimum instantaneous Pea LO maximum instantaneous PE HI I pase maximum instantaneous PE LO I pase average maximum VG HI 142 148 142 C -1 electrical multi meter max avg B C NOTE regarding te measures Te refres time of display is lower tan 1 second and it corresponds to te processing time of measure according to te used measuring metodology, allowing a comfortable reading of values, also in presence of unexpected deviation of te measured parameters. Sould te case be tat te instrument is being used in a single-pase line, please bear on mind tat te valid values are referred to pase. Oter visualised values souldn t be considered, since tey correspond to tree-pase system. In case tat te indicated measures aren t reliable or tey are absurd, it s important to cec carefully te current and voltage inputs connection, so as te pase sequence. Cec tat current and voltage correspond to te same pase (on input it will be connected pase voltage and te CT will be placed on pase ), tence terminal of CT will be wired to te relative terminal on te instrument. If te secondary of te CT is connected to oter instruments also, it can be experienced some measuring problems, according wit te typology of current inputs. Sould tat be te case, te user sould select te option of te instruments type (T) wit internal CT s. EMM-R3-V EMM-μ3V instruction manual IM425-U v3.1 pag. 14
