Tis operating anual will provide an overview of te product, safety instructions, a quick guide to operation, and coplete instructions for correct usage. You can use te Kill A att Edge unit to ceck your appliances electric consuption, cost to run, equivalent eissions, and as a standby killer to sut down your appliances wen tey are not used, and are in standby ode. Te unit cobines uan otion detection by PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor detection, and sensing te appliance s standby power level, to control te flow of AC power autoatically. AC power will be provided autoatically wen users are present and standby power will be cut off autoatically wen tey leave te roo to save energy, save eissions to elp protect te eart. A power killer function is available so tat te unit operates as a conventional otionactivated switc. Te power killer ode will sut off power to appliances regardless of standby power after a settable delay. Te power killer function is ideal for space eaters, uidifiers, etc. Te Kill A att Edge is also easy to read tanks to a teter feature tat allows you to perc your eter nearby te ite you are easuring witout aving to bend over or unplug te device to view data. Plug te appliance s power cord into te Kill A att Edge unit socket, and ten connect te Kill A att Edge into te outlet. 3. If tere are any appliances, please use a power strip, plug all te appliance s power cords into power strip s sockets and plug te power strip into Kill A att Edge socket, and ten connect te Kill A att Edge into te outlet. 4. Turn on te appliance witin 10 seconds. Tis tie liit is iportant to ensure correct standby power detection. 5. Now te Kill A att Edge will easure appliance standby power, te ON/OFF key on te top of te Kill A att Edge will flas in green once per second, wic indicates te standby power is being easured. After 30 to 40 seconds, te standby power easuring is finised. Te ON/OFF key s ligt will be solid green. Now, te unit is working and in PIR otion detection ode. ON, OFF and PIR detect function : 1. ing te ON/OFF key will turn off power to te outlet at once. Te key will illuinate in red. Te unit will continue to easure power (e.g. oltage, ) and te function keys and LCD display will continue to operate. 2. ing te ON/OFF key again will turn power on to outlet at once. Te key will illuinate in green. Te unit features a spikefree switc function wic activates at zerocrossing and will present clean power to your connected appliance. Te unit will easure power and te function keys and LCD display will operate. Te unit will be in PIR otion detection ode. 3. If tere is no otion in te PIR effective area, and te appliance is in standby ode, te unit will cut off power according to off power delay tie setting. For exaple, wit a 30 inute setting, after 30 inutes, te unit will sut down power, te LED will flas green every 3 seconds, and te unit will be in PIR otion detection ode. en soebody oves into te effective PIR area, te unit will turn power on to outlet at once. Te LED will illuinate in green. 3.1 Tere are 3 conditions tat ust be true to cut off power: A, No otion in te PIR effective area, B, Te appliance is in standby condition, and te unit standby off power level is larger tan appliance instant standby power, C, Te off power delayed tie setting value ust ave elapsed. 3.2 Please refer to power,off power delayed tie and PIR sensor detecting distance settings for detailed inforation. 4. Te sorter te off power delayed tie setting, te ore energy will be saved but te AC power on/off cycles will occur ore frequently. Te appropriate setting for off power delayed tie will be to balance appliance use and save energy. 1 our for office, 30 inutes for oe, is a suggested starting point. 5. Suary: 4.1 green ligt = power on, and PIR otion detect function on. 4.2 red ligt = power off, and PIR otion detect function off. 4.3 green ligt every 3 second = power off, and PIR otion detect function on. 4.4 green ligt every second = standby power is easuring, don t touc. Distances: 15 feet (ax.), orizontal angle: 40 degree (ax.), vertical angle: 70 degree (ax.). Coose te ode wic best suits your present requireents. kill ode will cut off power wen te appliance is in standby ode (turned off ) and no otion is detected for te prograed off power delay tie. Use tis ode for appliances suc as televisions wic typically consue power even wen switced off. Tis use will save energy by ensuring zero power is consued by te appliance wen it is not in use. Te otion sensor will ensure te appliance will respond to te user and reote controls wen you need it. Tis ode will not cut power to an appliance tat is turned on regardless of detected otion. Power kill ode will cut off power to te appliance regardless if it is turned ON or OFF after no otion is detected for te prograed off power delay tie. Use tis ode for appliances tat you want to operate only wen otion is detected and te user is present suc as space eaters and uidifiers. Tis use will save energy by ensuring te connected appliance will only operate wen te user is present. Use te off power delay tie setting to adjust for periods were you want te appliance to continue to operate despite te lack of otion. For exaple, sleeping periods. Hold Key 3 sec kill ode : power, Off power delayed tie and PIR sensor detecting distances setting : power : Off, 0.1 to Off power delayed tie : 10 seconds to 2 ours, default is 10 inutes. PIR sensor detecting distances : Off (disable PIR function), 1 foot to 15 feet, default is 15 feet. Te power will be switced off to te outlet. Te key will illuinate in red. LCD will display te OER icon and protected current value. Reove te appliance; press te key to erase te ain display, Over icon and protected current value. Ten press te key to turn te power back on. Current Load A First Over Current Mont Cange Screen Over Current after continuous 5 second Cange Screen Mont (Red LED Flas every 0.5 second) Retained easureents : 1. en power to te unit is interrupted, cuulative power consuption KH, sed, Cost, and will be retained autoatically into EEPROM. All user settings, s, power, Off power delay tie, PIR distances are retained in EEPROM after every user setting. Tis feature allows settings to be prograed one tie only witout loss during power interruptions or wen te unit is oved fro outlet to outlet. 2. en te AC power is restored or wen te unit is plugged into anoter outlet, cuulative power consuption KH, sed, Cost,,, power, Off power delay tie, and PIR distances will be retrieved autoatically fro eory. 8 Specifications : Maintenance Protect te eter fro adverse weater conditions. Te eter is not waterproof. Do not expose te LCD display to direct sunligt for long periods of tie. CAUTION : To avoid daage to te eter, do not expose it to sprays, liquids, or solvents. Clean te exterior of te eter by reoving dust wit a lintfree clot. Use care to avoid scratcing te clear plastic display filter. For furter cleaning, use a soft clot or paper towel dapened wit water. You can use a 75% isopropyl alcool solution for ore efficient cleaning. CAUTION : To avoid daage to te surface of te eter, do not use abrasive or ceical cleaning agents.
