June 12 th, 2015 Dear Mr, Mrs, On behalf of the European Platform on Sustainable Urban Transport Plans and in cooperation with JASPERS (Joint Assistance to Support Projects in European Regions) we are pleased to invite you to a seminar on: 'Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans: Theory, Practice and the Greek Reality at: University of Piraeus, June, 18 th 2015 from 14.00 till 18.00. In order to assist cities in Europe with developing plans that effectively address urban mobility problems, the European Commission has set out a concept of a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan 1 that has emerged from a broad exchange between stakeholders and planning experts across the European Union. The concept describes the main features of a modern and sustainable urban mobility and transport plan. Furthermore the Commission has supported the development of guidelines 2 on drafting and implementing such plans. This event targets at national, regional and local stakeholders (cities) interested and /or involved in urban transport and mobility planning. The aims of the workshop are to: Update you on the state of play of the Greek policy on urban transport planning. Inform you about the European support your city can access when preparing, developing and implementing a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.
