Starting your washer Before starting your washer: 1. Measure and add detergent. 2. Pace sorted oad in washer. 3. Start washer. A Seect a 1. WATER LEVEL - Seect a 2. CYCLE Turn the knob to point to a setting that describes the size of the oad you want to wash. The water eve can be set for EX SMALL (a few items), MEDIUM or LARGE (a fu oad). Each cyce has preset wash and rinse water temperatures. (See pages 6 & 7 for more information.) A rinses are cod. Recommended wash temperatures can be found in your Laundry Guide: LARGE wafer eve for best permanent press resuts. I LOAD SIZES AND WATER LEVELS For best ceaning resuts, the oad must be abe to move freey in the water. Too big a oad or too itte water can cause wear or tearing of oad items. n *Approximate fi with oad. CAUTION: DO NOT OVERLOAD WASHER. 3. Start the washer A. Push in the Timer Knob and turn it to the right. It must be pushed in and turned ony cockwise. For REGULAR and PERM T PRESS cyces, turn the Timer Knob to the START ine. For the KNITS GENTLE cyce, turn the Timer Knob to the *. Start the washer by puing out the Timer Knob. B. After starting the washer, it wi fi to the eve you set with wash water of the preset temperature. After finishing the entire cyce, the Timer Knob wi move into the OFF area. C. To stop the washer at any time, push in the Timer Knob. To restart the washer, pu out the Timer Knob. 5

What happens in each cyce Each cyce has been designed for different kinds of fabrics. When a Cyce Seector Button is pushed and the Timer Contro Knob pued out, the washer fis before agitation and timing starts. After agitation starts, the Timer Knob turns cockwise unti it points to OFF and the cyce ends. REGULAR Cyces REGULAR [HOT WASH] A cyce with a hot water wash and cod water rinse for sturdiy constructed fabrics that are heaviy soied. PERMANENT PRESS Cyce REGULAR (WARM WASH] A cyce with a warm water wash and cod water rinse for sturdiy constructed fabrics that are moderatey soied. REGULAR [COLD WASH] A cyce with a cod water wash and rinse for sturdiy constructed items that are ighty soied. A cyce with a warm water wash and cod water rinse. This cyce has coo down rinse which heps keep wrinkes from setting into permanent press and some synthetic fabrics. mm A 1 cyce with a warm water wash and cod water rinse that genty washes and spins deicate items and washabe knits. 6

Caring for your washer OF WHEN NOT WASHING, keep both water faucets turned off. This takes the pressure off the water inet vave and hoses. AFTER WASHING, use a soft dry coth to wipe the outside and inside dry. Leave the id up unti the basket is dry. Wipe up spis right away. Spis can du or damage the finish. REMOVE SHARP OBJECTS such as pins, buckes, etc., from cothes before washing. Cose meta zippers. SHARP OR HEAVY OBJECTS shoud never be put on or in the washer. Check pockets for bots, nuts, toos, etc. SOME PRETREATMENT PRODUCTS can damage washer and dryer dias, consoes and finishes. Do not use these products on or near your washer or dryer.

Winterizing Because some wafer stays in the washer, freezing can cause a ot of damage. If your washer is stored or moved during the cod weather... 1. Shut off both water 2. Put a quart of faucets. Disconnect autoniobie-type and drain water inet antifreeze in the hoses. basket. 3. Set the washer for a DRAIN and SPIN (see page 8). Let it run for about 30 seconds to mix the antifreeze and water. To use the washer again... 1. Fush water pipes and hoses. 2. Connect hoses to the washer. 3. Turn on the water faucets. 4. Run the water through a compete cyce with one cup of detergent to cean out the antifreeze. 10
