6.1 Call to order The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:05 am. 6.2 Approval of Agenda dated. 6.3 Records of Decisions dated September 18, 2009 approved by teleconference November 18, 2009. MOTION: To approve the agenda as written. S: James Houldsworth 6.4 Field Operations Unit Update:.1 Barbara Parkin, ATC PAC Membership Certification Status Barbara Parkin informed the committee of their term expiry dates on the PAC and whether or not they were eligible for re-appointment. Barb reported on the registration standings: 47 registered apprentices 85% male 15% female 3 pending applications 1 Certified within the last year Barb also informed the committee that the technical training calendar is available on line. Landscape Technician apprentices will be registering on Tuesday June 1, 2010. A level 1 course will begin on January 31, 2011 for 11 weeks and a level 4 course will begin on November 15, 2010 for 8 weeks. Landscape Technician PAC 3 Barb informed the committee about the grants and incentives that are being offered by the government and supplied the PAC with brochures and technical training calendars.

6.4 Regulation/Program Standards:.2 Program Standards Unit Joyce Joyal PDC Joyce Joyal reviewed the Objectives and Context of each level of technical training for the trade of Landscape Horticulturist with the PAC. Joyce took note of the suggestions and will make the changes to the level chart. Nancy Eller entered the meeting. She informed the committee about the Interprovincial Guide (IPG) workshop held in Ottawa. She thanked Guy Dowhy, instructor from Red River College and James Houldsworth, PAC member, for attending on behalf of Manitoba. Nancy explained that the next step is the French translation then the book will be produced. Motion #1: That the Landscape Technician PAC recommends to the Board the approval of the Landscape Technician Technical Training Profile Chart as the standard form of Technical Training for the trade of Landscape Technician. M: James Houldsworth S: Danielle Van Beselaere Motion #2: That the Landscape Technician PAC recommends to the Board the approval of the Level Chart as the standard format for the delivery of Technical Training for the trade of Landscape Technician. 6.5 Regulation/Program Standards: Policy Unit Kristal Hurrell Landscape Technician PAC 4 Kristal Hurrell addressed the committee with recommendations for a name change. The committee was asked if they would like to change the trade name from Landscape Technician to Landscape Horticulturist to stay in line with the Interprovincial Red Seal designation. She also informed them that apprentices currently in technical training (currently a 4 year program) may need to be transitioned into the new (3 year program) technical training program. S: James Houldsworth Motion: #3 The PAC recommends to the Apprenticeship Certification Board to change the trade name from Landscape Technician to Landscape Horticulturist. S: Danielle Van Beselaere
