Before you start... Proper instaation is your responsibiity. Make sure you have everything necessary for correct instaation. t is the persona responsibiity and obigation of the customer to contact a quaified instaer to assure that eectrica and pumbing instaations meet a nationa and oca codes and ordinances. Eectrica ground is required. See Eectrica requirements. DO NOT pinch power suppy cord or kink power suppy cabe between dishwasher and cabinet. DO NOT insta dishwasher over carpeted fooring. Proper eectrica, drain and water suppy ines must be avaiabe or must be instaed as specified within shaded area. Pumbing and wiring shoud not cross in front of motor or dishwasher egs. Faiure to foow these instructions coud resut in eectrica shock or other persona injury. Eectrica wiring and components must not contact any pumbing materia or drain hose. Cabinet opening must competey encose sides, top and back of dishwasher. Faiure to do so may resut in persona injury from exposed wiring. Persona njury/product Damage Hazard Avoid opening dishwasher door before dishwasher is instaed. Dishwasher, before it is instaed, may tip over when door is opened, resuting in persona injury or product damage. Copies of the standards isted may be obtained from: Nationa Fire Protection Association Batterymarch Park Quincy, Massachusetts 02269 Read and foow the Eectrica requirements, Water requirements and Drain requirements sections before instaing dishwasher. Recommended grounding method For your persona safety, this appiance must be grounded. This appiance is equipped with a power suppy cord having a 3-prong grounding pug. To minimize possibe shock hazard, the cord must be pugged into a mating, 3-prong, grounding-type wa receptace, grounded in accordance with Nationa Eectrica Code, ANS/NFPA 70 - atest edition and a oca codes and ordinances. (See Figure 3.1 f a mating wa receptace is not avaiabe, it is the persona responsibiity and obigation of the customer to have a propery grounded, 3-prong, wa receptace instaed by a quaified eectrician. When oca codes do not permit use of a power suppy cord with an undercounter dishwasher, the power suppy cord must be removed and dishwasher wired directy. To direct wire this product, order kit #43 17979. Eectrica connections must be contained within the termina box and meet a oca codes and ordinances. F THE POWER SUPPLY CORD S REMOVED, THE DSHWASHER MUST BE CONNECTED WTH COPPER WRE ONLY.

Water Requirements The hot water ine to the dishwasher must provide between 15-120 psi water pressure. The hot water heater shoud be set to deiver 140 F water temperature to the dishwasher for best resuts. Use 3/8 O.D. copper tubing or /2 pastic tubing minimum inet ine. Dishwasher inet vave has 3/8 N.P.T. interna pipe thread. Drain Requhements The drain hose MUST have a high drain oop,. 20 minimum ABOVE FLOOR, to prevent backfow or water siphoning out of dishwasher during operation. NOTE: An air gap MUST BE USED in the high drain oop if the drain hose is connected to house pumbing ower than 20 above the foor. Drain hose, suppied, meets AHAM DW- 1 test standards. Cut -1/2 hoe in cabinet wa for drain hose. Additiona drain ine (a minimum of /2.D. and no onger than 20 ) can be used if needed. Now start... with dishwasher in kijchen. n aternate waterine ocations Rough in water ine to the dishwasher cabinet opening using one of the routing methods shown. Cut /2 or arger hoe in cabinet wa for water ine. 2 n nsta a shutoff vave in the water ine where it can be easiy used. 3 n Fush water ine into a bucket to get rid of any partices that may cog inet vave. Turn shutoff vave to the OFF position. Eectrica Shock Hazard Disconnect eectrica power at the service pane (fuse box or circuit breaker box). Remove the 4 screws attaching access pane and toe pane to dishwasher using a /4 hex socket, nut driver or Phiips screwdriver, Remove access pane and toe pane. m Measure heiaht of cabined opening from theyront edge of the underside of cabinet opening to foor. Check chart for that height opening. Put the whees in the required position. The dishwasher shoud be instaed as eve as possibe from front to back. Loosen and then turn front eveers the number of times indicated in the chart. Whee Number Min. You may have this type drain connector... --- Pane B 4 m Cut a -1/2 maximum hoe for power suppy cord or a 3/4 minimum hoe for direct wiring in the cabinet or foor for the eectrica wiring to pass through. f this hoe is cut in a wood cabinet, sand the hoe unti it is smooth. f the hoe is cut in a meta cabinet, the hoe must be covered by a grommet (Part No. 302797), avaiabe from your deaer or parts suppier. nsta wa receptace on rear or side wa of a cabinet next to dishwasher opening as indicated by the shaded areas shown. Pug dishwasher power suppy cord into this receptace. For direct wiring insta a 3/4 U. L.-isted conduit connector to connect the fexibe armored or non-metaic sheathed, copper cabe (with grounding wire) to the fused disconnect, circuit breaker or junction box. Run the cabe through the hoe in the cabinet opening. The cabe shoud extend 24 from the back wa. / m Put spring-type drain hose camp over connector. Push drain hose onto connector. Use piers to open camp and side camp over drain hose and connector. Check that drain hose is secure. f screw-type camp is used instead of spring-type camp, use 0 5/ 16 nut driver to tighten drain hose securey to connector. To minimize noise and vibration, route drain hose to avoid contact with door springs, motor, water ine, cabinet or fooring. Do Not run drain hose over top of tub.

Push dishwasher into pace, siding drain hose through hoe cut in cabinet opening. Do not pinch power suppy cord or kink power suppy cabe between dishwasher and cabinet. Check that front eveing egs are firmy against the foor. Aign dishwasher door with cabinet doors, so that spacing is the same on both sides. 9 H Connect drain hose to an air gap or waste tee using one of the recommended or aternate methods. /, cearance to foor $ k Entry must be above trap. The waste tee connection MUST be made ahead of the trap and a minimum of 20 above the foor. Drain hose to disposer. Jt hose cor. Cut hose connector to fit, if needed. f connecting drain hose to an air gap or waste tee, cut end of drain hose as shown. Secure drain hose with screw-type or spring-type hose camp (camp type varies with modes.) Do Not cut drain hose when connecting to a 7/8 disposer connector. Knock out pug from disposer inet. Secure drain hose with hose camp provided. DO NOT cut ribbed section to shorten drain hose. Entry musj be above trap. nsta air gap (Part No. 300096) according to kit instructions. f other brands of air gaps are used, they shoud be checked to make sure they aow for the same water fow. Connect the air gap to a waste tee* or disposer using a rubber connector. Most disposers have 7/8 connectors or specia connectors are avaiabe at pumbing suppy houses. Be sure to remove the disposer pug before connecting the drain hose. You may need remove disposer from sink to remove the pug. f oca pumbing codes permit, dishwasher drain hose may be connected directy to disposer. Connect water pipe or tubing directy to water inet vave. Do Not run pipe or tubing across front of motor or dishwasher egs. Turn on water suppy and check for eaks. 11. Check eectrica requirements. Be sure you have correct eectrica suppy and recommended grounding method. Remove bottom rack. Pace a newspaper or arge sheet of paper over bottom of dishwasher to protect the pump area when securing dishwasher to countertop. ower door frame 5. You MUST secure dishwasher to keep it from titing when door is opened or sosed. Do Not drop screws in dishwasher tub. Remove paper from bottom of dishwasher. 19 n Repace the access pane and toe pane.
