The Fire Alarm phase 2 package was approved by DSA on 5/10/2017. Guaranteed Maximum Price to be submitted and reviewed. To meet budget the scope has been reduced to Fire Alarm monitoring upgrade Phases 1 & 2, and the Fiber Optic upgrade. Because the fire alarm upgrade touches the Fine Arts and PE buildings, certification of the original DSA numbers is being undertaken. The task order for TDM Architects is in process. 40J-Physical Security and Hardware West 3-Mar-15 7-Jun-17 18-Oct-17 A B B B B B Page 3
The Collaboration phase is nearly complete. Notice to Proceed with the Design Phase will be issued after review of the pricing for the items requested by the BUG. Harper is expected to provide a recovery schedule. Since the date the Harper contract was signed, adverse weather has damaged the sound walls to a point that immediate repairs are needed but due to excessive costs for early mobilization and general conditions the Harper proposal greatly exceeded the $200,000 allowance. Therefore a change order has been drafted to remove this scope from the Harper contract and take it out for a competitive bid. Please note, in the total expended amount over $2.39M is the Master Planning project of which the sound walls are the last portion to be done and very small part of the budget, the next report will show this project separately.
